I took a quick look around because these kind of lists are pretty common and I was curious to see what others thought of number 5, given the first 4 are pretty obvious. The Bleacher Report, Fadeaway World, Air-Ball, HoopsHype and JMoneySports all had the same top 4, in the same order. They split on number 5, with most going for Alvin Robertson but there was one vote each for Sam Perkins and Kevin Willis.

A bad one… But certainly not the worst of all time! See Russell Westbrook Warriors v Thunder 18 Jan 2017…

Nobody notices as NBA player commits the most obvious violation of all time... right next to ref!
For me, Richardson is not a 7 batter. You need someone who can bat both time, should wickets fall and we just need to make it to the end, and also can hit. Maybe Agar, but more likely a batting alrounder. Can we fit Stoinis in to do it? Maybe the order will change accordingly but with Maxwell to bowl some overs we don’t need 5 specialist bowlers.
Australia's best XI for the T20 World Cup 2020
Robinson does seem fair. Greg Growden, on the other hand, does seem to like finding “dirt” in rugby. Never quite knew what his angle was.
The rugby media need to be careful not to kill the game they rely on
This feels old pretty quickly after the Cavs game!
What Simmons needs is the keys. The Cavs are terrible, but we can see what happens when he is asked to take over. No GM would have the balls, but JoJo for KAT (who, incidentally, is a friend of Simmons) would allow Simmons to really take over.
An imperfect Ben Simmons is still having a star's impact
Johnson was attack coach for the 2007 RWC wallabies that included Larkham. Of course, knocked out in QF so maybe not the best place to have crossed paths although Larkham was injured in first pool game from memory
Stephen Larkham sacked as Wallabies assistant coach
Um, yes he was. Best fly half I’ve seen.

Well that’s the genius of this. Larkham coaches Kafer who coaches Cheika. Never doubt the geniuses at RA. Of course, Scott Johnson will be there to coach Larkham to coach Kafer to coach Cheika.
Stephen Larkham sacked as Wallabies assistant coach
Larkham wasn’t invited to the pre season planning day, which would have been a pretty good indicator.

If by Barnes you mean Berrick Barnes, my understanding is he doesn’t want to play super rugby or euro rugby given his past history of concussions.

I should add, for completeness, this is not a new idea. This was RUPA’s preferred model, I’ve just re-hashed it in light of the Government’s changes to higher education, meaning that there is more potential interest from universities to get involved.

It’s really pleasing that people have an optimistic outlook of the current state of the game. Rugby is a great product, but this article was written in light of its current financial status and struggles to break into the hearts and minds of the masses, despite the welcome boost from the Waratahs success and upcoming World Cup. Australia has an extraordinarily crowded winter sport marketplace in a relatively small population base, and rugby at the moment does not have the resources to compete, and indeed, without careful management, may lose more ground. It cannot afford to carry loses for long term gain at the moment, but universities can. Their interest is less about the success of the team, and more about the marketing value the team can bring. It’s cost shifting in a manner that can still reap rewards for the game, and create a sufficiently strong grounding from which to move forward. The NRC last time around was a good competition, but had to be pulled because of the financial issues. Hopefully the teams attract some good sponsorships and crowds, and TV ratings are good enough to attract some better rights packages, and the NRC will survive. But if it doesn’t, the ARU will have to fold the competition once more, which will be a very sad outcome. I feel that this concept has a better chance of financial success, based around teams that can withstand a loss.
Yes, I recognise that this idea somewhat strengthens the elitist view of rugby, and ideally that view would not be there. But in part, this idea is intended to do that. Rugby needs to consolidate the strength of its base before attempting to broaden its horizons: that’s where the game is at the moment. From a commercial point of view, it needs a competition that can financially support itself, but without undermining the present base who play such a massive role in grassroots development. Over time it could (and hopefully will) progress beyond that, but this isn’t a concept borne of idealism, its one of commercial reality.

I don’t understand all this Warner fuss. Warner’s white ball form has been good. No one is really bashing down the door to replace Warner. There are some players doing fine, but they’re not demanding a spot in the team.
