Oh I get it, they’ve been buying influence for a long time now, but one day you’ll have to pay the piper. Don’t you think it’s sad that as a nation, you are so reliant on two thoroughly terrible regimes to effectively keep you afloat and also dictate your stance on things?They invest so much money in Africa because they know how easily it can be bought.
I’d be delighted if the world moved away from its self inflicted reliance on China btw.

He had two choices I suppose, one was to get physically violent with him the second was to report it to the ref. He’s been unfairly maligned for choosing the second option imo.

Whether you like it or not, the UK is still one of the most important countries in the world and a huge overachiever in cultural terms. What has South Africa given to the world in a cultural sense? I’ll wait.

I don’t think a single person has suggested that the Boks have to justify speaking Afrikaans, not a single one.
The alternate theory circulated was eminently believable (although it didn’t relate to the incident in question) but it was quite striking how the whole machine of SA rugby, every stakeholder from the top to bottom jumped on it straight away (there as not one dissenting voice from South Africa – which is really weird if you stop to think about it for even a split second)…they even had t-shirts printed FFS.
The only ones who looked foolish in this were the SA team and their sycophants who turned the whole thing into a joke like a bunch of adolescents. I’d suggest that everybody involved with SA rugby knows full well the resemblance of the Afrikaans word to the English one and have hidden behind it from the start (even though it doesn’t actually relate to the incident in question anyway.)
Still there’s always useful idiots around to lap it up.

If I was accused of racism based on a misunderstanding (as we are being told) then I would wish to clear up the misunderstanding straight away, I’m fairly sure most people would. I sure as s$&@ wouldn’t be making jokes about it in training and so on. Regardless of the accusation, Bongi has not come out of this at all well IMO and nor have those around him that joined in with the ‘jokes’.
