Apple was fun. Although your quiz does say a lot about the schdeuling mess between what is now a clearly divide two tier structure in Cricket- With Australia, England and India getting to play more series and matches opposite each other compared to teams like Pakistan who get a single Australia tour in close to 7 years
An ODI quiz: The last time Australia played Pakistan
Red Kev, I agree with this article of yours, particularly the cognitive dissonance part comparing how people think Handscomb might come good against Indian spinners by evaluating his performance in Australia, while not accepting the same premise for Khwaja. However, I do feel he is isn’t your Number 3- Steven Smith seems a much better fit for that.
Leave the Australian batting order alone
I agree @BrainsTrust. He just has been that sort of a player- very good on the eye, but rarely does he do much other than a meaningless 20 ball-30. This innings was also going thus way until he started hitting Michael Beer.

Thanks a lot Jordan! I too was hoping for a bit more engagement with roar readers through comments. Sadly, it doesn’t seem to be case. Anyway, I am glad you found the article good. ?

Very nice piece. Loved your analysis of the leg-spinning options. I would however do include Maxwell in the playing eleven to unsettle AShwin, maybe at number 4-5. Handscomb for me can play at 6.
My squad for the upcoming India series
I would like to add that they could taken a bowler like Peter siddle, instead of a spinner like Swepson, who could have done a holding job while Hazelwood and Starc switch around. I don’t know if he is injured or not, but if he is fit, I feel Australians certainly missed a trick or two. I agree with Ronanthat spin is not the answer in India unless you are pretty good, which is not the case here.
