There’s an argument to make that this team is the best WCE side yet – on paper. With a bit more to prove this yr than last. So although we seem to do better when experts, “experts” or the people with their heads in the sand a Melbourne bubble don’t rate us. Could soon be saying best yet – .

Four burning questions for West Coast ahead of the AFL restart

Bris, Port and Rich all danger games. Lost vs all of them last season. By an average of 5 goals no less. You’d have liked what Shuey (the new captain) was saying pts, this one could mean more than any, not less. Stoked footy’s back, lets hope it never get sshcanned again.

Each club's state of affairs before the AFL restart: Part 2

How do clubs normally go about dealing with it? Throw em in an octagon? Principles office? Run laps?

Pssh.

What a dance

Maybe not by the casuals. I will remember her fondly for retiring said American woman – who will be remembered for being good at nothing but judo. I suspect it’s your Portuguese that’s hopeless? She is a completely dominant and humble champion. It’s as if she belongs in a future era of women’s MMA. I hope she takes a couple of years off now to prolong her career, nothing left to prove in the current landscape.

UFC 250: Will Amanda Nunes cement herself as the greatest female fighter of all time?

Dees taking home games elsewhere might have something to do with that.

The six stories to play out in AFL season 2020

Who cares what they did when it was a melbourne comp. It will be 40k soon. Point being more people miss out on group stage games however many wouldn’t get to a cats home final (60k tiger supporters? Wait aren’t you a…) Are you surprised no one suggests Fifa should only use the biggest stadiums? No one says if the neighbouring country has a bigger stadium they should really just play games there.
“Geelong hosting any Victorian team at their ground for a final would be just garbage happen when they earn a “home” final through ladder position at the end of 22 regular season games.”
There you go, fixed it… how it would look if you weren’t trying to “fix” it. 😛

How Geelong could quickly become the laughing stock of the AFL

Best stadium in Geelong is the criteria, where did you pull “best in 100km” out of. The reason finals aren’t played at Arden St or Whitten oval is the same reason regular season games aren’t played. Real reason for no finals in Geelong is “unearned” home finals, like priority picks, is a little help we need to give weak melbourne teams like Richmond or theyd never have any success. Also prob something about money.

How Geelong could quickly become the laughing stock of the AFL

Referencing “pre-expansion” doesn’t help your argument Richie. Its post-expansion now.
Likening the continually refurbished ($100+ mill or so since 07) Cattery to a 70s suburban ground is fine form. Geelong should be able to earn the right to play finals in their home city, just like every other team. The argument that more people can go is irrelevant. How many people can attend can be determined by where the game is played, not the other way round. FIFA world cup matches have been played in stadiums with a smaller capacity than GMHBA, so of course it’s big enough to play afl finals at.

Crippa doing a reverse-Judd will be so good. Hopefully we don’t give up a JK for him.

Shutdown a blow for Dockers gameplan: Fyfe

I understand now. Thanks Richie. Def hard to predict a prelim.

The Vic-centric AFL discriminates against WA clubs

No doubt we’d still be playing home finals at the G if no one called it out as bs.

The AFL to apologise for Perth being far away

I don’t know of another tournament where the seedings change hands like you’re suggesting after the playoffs/finals start. Another one of the AFL’s ‘special’ rules. You’re saying you can finish 4th, win week one and leapfrog a team that finished 2nd and won the first final. Rediculous.

The Vic-centric AFL discriminates against WA clubs

I can only speculate. Pretty sure football was only semi-professional until not long before Brisbane and West Coast were added to the VFL.
There seems there was desire to win more than the state league. There was the championship of Australia (only just learnt of this one). Also the SoO. Which was the ultimate… prob why everyone but the vics hate it when they desecrate it’s memory.
Most older blokes over here will tell a story about how their team wanted to join the VFL first and the other teams wouldn’t allow it. They can also rattle off a few of their favorite players that left for the VFL, often for money (as Rowdy alludes to) sure some went to play with the other best players.
I think you will find most “whingeing” comes from people who think the AFL is great. Can’t wait till it’s back. I’d be happy enough if the AFL stayed exactly how it is. Lots of things will change/evolve though.
I did have a laugh with your article mate 👍 If I could write as well I’d give some topics a go. Might try a vic-bias-centric one about the fixturing of rounds 7-11 rounds 😛

The AFL to apologise for Perth being far away

😊 You don’t hear them complaining because there is nothing intentionally “wrong” with the fixtures in those national leagues. You would hear them talk about the odd short turn around between games if you listened closely enough – it’s common to hear from most sports leagues overseas too. Apparently recovery is important for professional athletes. Good point about the anchors, only there’s 2 Fremantle teams that have won plenty of WAFL flags, best we don’t add to the woes of our local league.

The AFL to apologise for Perth being far away

Why do swimmers aim for Olympic medals rather than just state titles?

The AFL to apologise for Perth being far away

You seemed to have tied yourself in knots there old mate. Remember your article, we’re ALL living in “Melbourne sporting culture” bubbles.

Vic clubs must fold or merge to make room for interstate expansion

Sure would be tempting to catch the Shinkansen down on a weekend the eagles were away. Wouldn’t complain about a sunday arvo game after visiting breweries all weekend 😛

Vic clubs must fold or merge to make room for interstate expansion

Great article. Never too early to plant seeds. A third and fourth team in Perth would probably do better in a 2nd division to begin with…

Vic clubs must fold or merge to make room for interstate expansion

A) Wants to see the game thrive – get bigger and better – do more good.
B) Wants to be able to go see his team play every week. Does something else if expansion team or bottom 8 non-vic team visits. OR C) Vic dinosaur.

The Vic-centric AFL discriminates against WA clubs

Or we can just keep collecting “their” cups. They will fold to the “whinging” it’s how things progress.

So just keep doing whats always been done? How will he sleep.

AFL unveils fixtures up to Round 5

Robbed of a few percentage points, shouldn’t be costly. 😛
