but the review had been going on for a while by the time it was made public (and AFL at least) must have known. But it should also have been covered by any reasonable due diligence process connected with the coaching appointment.

'Destroyed the fabric of this guy': North great takes aim at racism process after Clarkson stands down

yeah wow. how could they possibly have foreseen this? oh wait….

You hit the nail on the head. I’d only add that he didn’t show much contrition on behalf of the bank either. As you say, any functional organisation would have identified the multiple red flags a mile off. And I suspect he’s got a pretty good chance of securing a settlement. EFC Prez is arguably the biggest goose in footy. And that is no mean feat in the boys club (aka the ‘footy industry’)

Andrew Thorburn pursuing legal action amid 'wrongful termination' twist to Essendon CEO scandal

Yep, I sure would. Well done to his management. But the cost of their cleverness in stitching the saints up like this is people like me get to criticise him for getting so much and giving so little. He should raise a toast to the Saints every day. As Packer said you only get one Alan Bond. Whoever signed him at the Saints should be gone. Even the casual observer could tell he was toast at the end of his swannies days. But well done DH. Good luck on the other side.

The Suns' pursuit of Dan Hannebery might be their dumbest idea yet

Modern day footballing bankrobber. Cleaned the Saints out. Might as well wear a balaclava to pre-season.

EFC President keeps delivering the goods. He exhibits wonderful judgement and seems a real man of the people.

Bombers new CEO sensationally OUT after heat over 'absolutely appalling' and 'offensive' church ties

I think he’ll do a fine job. Perhaps recruit Bomber Thompson and Danni Laidley as Assistants.

AFL News: Hird not a 'saviour' says Bombers great, Freo unmoved by Lobb's trade request, Carey axed by Triple M

Congrats to the Lions. Neale was magnificent. Cameron was brilliant as well. And the debutant had a serious crack too. Was an enormously entertaining spectacle. Tiges improved on last year and have unearthed some talent in Cumberland, Rioli and Sonsie (maybe). Probably need to supplement the midfield and defence.

AFL Finals Focus: Okay, let's try and unpack the greatest game of footy ever played. Controversy and all

Big Mason at the MCG in September can be formidable. U.S.A. U.S.A. Still sends a shiver.

'Please give them back!' Thieves steal Mason Cox's glasses ahead of Pies' finals run

Geelong will stop at nothing – it’s outrageous.

throw him as much shade as you like with your persistent detraction but he’s a true great of the game and (almost) universally recognised as such.

AFL Saturday Study: The Bombers could have got bitter with Luke Parker. Instead, they got better

You might not like it but the answer to your question is that his extraordinary performances have made him a yardstick for excellence in the modern AFL.

AFL Saturday Study: The Bombers could have got bitter with Luke Parker. Instead, they got better

that’s very noble of you – perhaps Prestia ought to be grateful?

AFL NEWS: Stewart banned a month, De Goey back at Pies, Neale stays at Lions, Ryder calls out bar snitches

Choir boy Tommy will have more time to help old ladies carry their shopping.

If the socceroos played Liverpool in a three match series across the country, it would probably do those things as well. But it would still be meaningless.

Would Western Australia be the State of Origin surprise packet?

Let the NRL have their SOO. Its a meaningless exhibition game – I have no idea how they have manufactured interest in it so long. Would hate to see the tiges lose a key player for this kind of jolly. Thankfully the clubs don’t seem to be prepared to cop it. If it means so much to others pit the teal cup on the telly and use that for your bragging rights.

cotchin and shiel were contesting the ball. Stewart ironed out Prestia when he wasn’t looking and had already tapped the ball on. Not the same.

The AFL should send off players for violent actions that take a player out

It wasn’t even granted a free kick 😱
so I can only conclude the umpires would not have used that power even if they had it. Depicable hit. Ridiculous for play to carry on while Prestia was helped from the ground. Stewart will just need to cop his lumps now and AFL should also apologise.

Cats and their cheap hits on tiger players – the trend continues 😡 They still have kittens when the heat is on though 😂 Hopefully we’ll catch up with the home and away kings when it really counts.

AFL Saturday Study: Cats and Tigers brilliant, but brutal Blues are Melbourne's biggest threat for the flag

Maybe mouthguards also needed at social functions and team meetings as well.

AFL Queen's Birthday Brainstorm: Cox conquers Clarry as Dees done again, and the silliest footy take of the year

And if the bloke who got punched in the head is a notorious lamb chop then he’s the one who’ll cop the suspension 😂 But the guy who does the punching will need two surgeries due to infection (but cop no sanction). Such is life in the AFL. Pretty amusing though. By my count Gresham is the second teammate of May to punch him in the head. On a side note it was extra funny it happened while the Melbourne boys were casually dining on foie gras and escargot. Just your typical MFC pie night 😂

Six Points: No.1 pick needs to cut the dirty play out now, and why the Bailey Smith scandal was handled perfectly

Stringer strung together some fine form to secure a contract and now looks miles off it. And Dyson Heppell and leadership are not words that sit eaaily alongside each other. Gonna be a long week at the hangar.

AFL Friday Footy Fix: 'Effort without system' sums up Dons, and what was up with those 150th anniversary celebrations?

My reflection on the round is this – a 14 year old youtuber could probably rig up a more effective score review system than the AFL in a couple of hours and a trip to JB hifi. Fix it or ditch it.

Six Points: Giants would be mad to give Hird the top job, and time to throw the book at throwing elbows

Great reflections. Took my younger bro to Windy Hill for the Save our Skins game and put some coins in the tin. Great to be a power again.
