Could be fun to dig out some old English comments made when Crookjie used an earpiece…

Is this controversial new England tactic against the spirit of the game?

Players such as Bob Simpson and Adam Gilchrist may never have played for Australia if they had not gone to another state because to get picked for Australia you have to be playing for one of the six states.

That reminds me!
Q. What does the ‘J’ stand for in Donald J Trump?
A. Jenious

Zampa and Maxwell have been key to Australia's ODI resurgence

Make no mistake, Smith and Warner are the difference, just like in the test team.

What’s this? Have they been busted cheating in an ODI now?

Zampa and Maxwell have been key to Australia's ODI resurgence

So under JL *all* three of those quicks’ averages have worsened.

Thanks for that Pat… 😂

Zampa and Maxwell have been key to Australia's ODI resurgence

“So that he can pick Warner’s brain…”

Funniest thing I’ve read for a while.

Zampa and Maxwell have been key to Australia's ODI resurgence

Bernie ejaculated: Oh goodness Steele, you just had to bring that rubbish into it didn’t you … ? (throws hands in the air in utter despair)

“rubbish” eh. You want to be careful on this Bernie subject Bernie. Otherwise people might beat you about the head with facts and examples.

Zampa and Maxwell have been key to Australia's ODI resurgence

Paul sez, yep, 3 average games is a “horrendous decline”

Paul (and Chris), here are the key stats of Starc’s ODI bowling pre and post JL.

Pre: Games 72, W 141, Ave 20.95, RPO 4.93, SR 25.4
Post: Games 24, W 43, Ave 30.41, RPO 5.84, SR 31.2

So what adjective would you choose to describe a 45% increase in Average?
(The other two are 18.5 & 22.8)

Zampa and Maxwell have been key to Australia's ODI resurgence

I am really challenging the myth of Symmo as if he was a Garfield Sobers/Keith Miller type.

Good to know that if anyone ever makes that claim then you’re ready for ’em DF.

Roy always gets my support for two reasons. One being that he was thrown under the (tour) bus by CA in Monkeygate, and two, because of the huge disparity in the crimes and punishments between him and D Warner.

Zampa and Maxwell have been key to Australia's ODI resurgence

I wonder how much of the improvement shown by both Zampa and Maxwell can be put down to a change of coach?

So does JL get blamed for Starc’s horrendous decline in this format?

Zampa and Maxwell have been key to Australia's ODI resurgence

Hopefully, he continues to kick on, it’s a shame he’s missed the Test boat.

Doubt it. I’ll bet that there’ll be prominent media calls for him to play in the Sidanee Test.

As for Zampa, great to see his improvement, if he can only just improve his fielding and batting….

Yep, now being capable of spinning the pill both ways with good control has certainly helped him. Good on him, but I’d like to see how the more traditional, loopy & bigger spinning leggies of Swepson would go in an ODI. Plus MS is a vastly superior fielder and a better bat. And then there’s this huge plus in his favour. https://www.instagram.com/p/BfIhfXRl5tn/

Zampa and Maxwell have been key to Australia's ODI resurgence

lol. Well put, but that won’t quell the conspiracists as the suspicion is that not all audits are equal. Like, did you find it a shock to learn that a certain Immortal had survived a decade of drug tests after his post-career confession to a career-long habit?

The hate for the Sydney Roosters is real – and unwarranted

The Roosters and Storm are the two most hated clubs, and also the two most successful clubs. Maybe those two factors are connected.

Disagree. No-one can accuse the Storm of having a sombrero on the hat-rack.

Note: The fanboy of the OP has done nothing to dispel the suspicion that the Chooks have an XXL on theirs.

Looking forward to Bryce opening for Australia in the next few years, will be an exceptional player, you will see.

Will that be before or after he opens the batting for Mumbai in the IPL?

Warner’s absence to expose Test openers again

Honestly Clarke is fast turning into the Malcolm Turnbull of Aussie cricket, full of principles and ideas now he’s no longer in the top gig

Good one PD.

Warner’s absence to expose Test openers again

Or Tom Moody.

Warner’s absence to expose Test openers again

Sorry Tom. I humbly apologise for having a different opinion to you.

Warner’s absence to expose Test openers again

Remember, it doesn’t matter so much if the openers don’t make a lot of runs as a pair, as long as the take the shine off the ball and stay there.

Gak! Don’t say that Paul. It’ll encourage the dreaded Bryce Street.

Warner’s absence to expose Test openers again

But don’t sacrifice a win now for maybe a win in the future.

Yep. It’s a simple but effective philosophy. ‘Pick the best team available’. Look at one of the most successful national teams in history. The All Blacks. They’ve never been interested in anything except picking their best side and, as a result, they’ve built a winning culture and mindset that intimidates the opposition even before the kick-off. Also, any variation from this selection policy will breed cancerous suspicion of bias and favouritism. Even if it’s non-existent. So forget, “Horses for courses”, “RoPo”, “Re-building phase”, favouring youff, favouring experience etc etc. Just pick the best side. Winning solves a lot of problems.

Why Australia chose Henriques over Green

Nahhh.
Prior to the Sandpaper Kid breaking down again it was apparently a toss-up between JB & WP. If the ability to handle pressure is a key component of being a Test player then here’s an opportunity to errrr… ‘test’ them.

Warner’s absence to expose Test openers again

So, because Green’s Shield bowling has been limited to 24 overs this season Henriques, who has bowled 10 wicketless overs in 3 games was the better selection. Novel.

As a whole, Moises Henriques’ inclusion into the side was the right decision made by Aaron Finch and the selectors.

Umm, you can only say that if you are a card-carrying time traveler.

Why Australia chose Henriques over Green

That’s what his ODI stats for this year are saying. (11 games)

93.3/ 1/ 595/ 9 RPO= 6.36 Avg= 62.3 SR= 66.1

Mitchell Starc's woes continue as no ball costs him a wicket... and a six

Gak! Something negative about Starc from The Roar! The sun will set in the east tonight.

Virat Kohli falls to 'screamer' from Moises Henriques

Yep, keep it simple BB. Play in the V…

Batting firepower and rusty fielding dominate as Australia belt India

You write like Starc is bowling. Furious but ineffective and wide of the mark.

*Facts* indicate that Starc isn’t going well. The 10 ODIs he’s played this year give him stats of, 94.3/1/12/569. Which translates to; RPO of 6.02, ave 47.4, SR 47.25.
These are not the stats of an undroppable superstar.
