The issue is Scrum that not one person called off the field last night had concussion so yep safety is important but forcing players off the field when not injured or concussed is a concern. The Chiefs could easily have lost last night with ALB forced off and that would be wrong.

DMac injured ahead of Brumbies clash, smart mouthguard leaves All Black's mouth agape as he's hooked at crucial moment

I think they are required to wear it

Burke will be the key. The player replacement started 2-3 years ago for the stars that have left.

Yeah I found that a bit odd considering he had Ethan DeGroot at 40 something….. Luckily we can all have our opinions I suppose.

Super Rugby's top 10 players: Aussie props dominate, but Kiwi sensation smiling on the summit

Im willing to let Waugh have a decent go from what I am seeing so far. I didnt like a few comments he has made around performance determining the Rebels future etc but he is doing something and that is a long time overdue.

Exclusive: Rugby Australia makes sweeping redundancies as governing body braces for 'economic headwinds'

NZ also has an NPC which produces 12 coaches a year, 20-30 assistant coaches a year and many other positions around a rugby club plus more refs.
If RA had a NRC with 10 teams thats probably 40 more coaches being involved in pro rugby.

'Our system is failing': The 'crisis' sinking Australian rugby - and the 'crucified' coach that shows it

Sorry Im not sure what your point was there, but if you believe the Saders side that played Munster was anything close to their winning side from last year I suggest you google the teams named for each game.

'Destroyed the soul of rugby': Ex-NZR boss delivers damning verdict of Super direction - and his plan to fix it

It just goes to show that no matter how much money each Union brings in the NH Unions really seem to be over spending. NZR runs on a minimalist budget and still remains financially viable and a top ranked nation. I suppose its more about good management rather than gross income.

'Destroyed the soul of rugby': Ex-NZR boss delivers damning verdict of Super direction - and his plan to fix it

Brendan thats not correct. SA wants it moved. NZ certainly see no need and Aus cant play rugby across their summer.
Arg will continue happily in the August window.
SA chose to move so they will need to deal with the fallout of off seasons as best they can. As has been proven often enough tho SA test players arnt playing too much rugby.

Oh sorry I thought losing to NZ all the time would have effected their rankings. NZ games arnt counted?

'Destroyed the soul of rugby': Ex-NZR boss delivers damning verdict of Super direction - and his plan to fix it

No actually NZR didnt do that at all. The NZ govt made it impossible for anyone to come in to the country. This little thing called Covid happened.

'Destroyed the soul of rugby': Ex-NZR boss delivers damning verdict of Super direction - and his plan to fix it

SR is fantastic as it is. It does everything it was set up to do. RAs failure to be proactive and run an NRC is hardly a fault of SR. The very simple facts are that RA has done nothing of any value to rugby in the last 20 years and has expected to float along and let NZR or anyone else do the work.
Effort is required to succeed and RA puts zero effort into becoming stronger.

'Destroyed the soul of rugby': Ex-NZR boss delivers damning verdict of Super direction - and his plan to fix it

SA is totally wrong with their claims as they had very provably been chasing their move to the UK for some years leading up to covid stopping them from travelling to NZ in 2020 so as per usual SA is not being very honest.

But it seems I would like to see them make the Final more than they would.

LOL yes clearly so….

What does the ICC want cricket to look like? It can't be what South Africa sent to New Zealand...

I dont see how “SA had nothing to gain/lose” when if they had won the series they would have been top of the test table and could have been Test champions. NZ is now leading that group.

Bazball isnt slog and hope. Its play positively. Most top sides play that way anyway so this morbid facination with a silly nickname is crazy.

McCullum hits back at Bazball critics after England's embarrassing rout: 'I don't want our guys to ever doubt themselves'

Bliksem Aus SR sides can sign whoever they want right now. ABs go to Japan for big money and Im sure some would be happy to play in Aus if enticed to do so.
Another thing is that RA has a selection policy that stops players from being in NZ SR teams so why would NZR allow the reverse?
Why doesnt RA do what is required to be stronger in SR? Always looking for NZR to do everything. Provide players, coaches etc…..

'Destroyed the soul of rugby': Ex-NZR boss delivers damning verdict of Super direction - and his plan to fix it

FF thats the main problem. When rugby was amature every team in the world was amature. RA has remained amature in actions where as the rest of the world hasnt. Thats why RA cant compete with NZ in SR and why they are ranked 9.

I cant see the Force being cut again. It would be a silly move and possibably damage rugby beyond saving.

Id think current less MP and Rebels. Mind you I still think a new franchise may emerge from Melbourne.
MP may be moved to Hawaii. They had a high interest at one stage to join SR.

Im not sure of the figures Scott but I believe grass roots used to receive around 15% of RAs income but now gets 3%. Hopefully someone can correct me with the exact figures. You cant grow a sport with dramatic drop-offs in grass roots funding.

Id like to see the SR sides use smaller stadiums like a lot of the UK comps use. I feel a 12-20K stadium would be perfect for most games but perhaps go to larger stadiums once the finals start. The UK comps have those smaller stadiums.

'Destroyed the soul of rugby': Ex-NZR boss delivers damning verdict of Super direction - and his plan to fix it

FB Its an interesting rank. I wonder if Aus would be ranked higher if they were a NH side and only played SA and NZ once every couple of years instead of 2 times per year every year.

'Destroyed the soul of rugby': Ex-NZR boss delivers damning verdict of Super direction - and his plan to fix it

Yeah its weird how a pre season game featuring the Saders attracted such good crowds in the UK. Imagine a fully fledged Saders side in comp form and what sort of crowd that would attract. People want to see quality I guess.

'Destroyed the soul of rugby': Ex-NZR boss delivers damning verdict of Super direction - and his plan to fix it

Brendan the NH comps are strugling massively. # have gone to the gurgler and there is no garrantees of more not doing the same. How is these NH comps so much more successful than SR? Nothing I see shows any improvements on SR except you have more wealthy owners who are happy to pull the pin on the money as soon as they face difficulty.
NH comps are hemoraging. Union does not get the money it deserves.
