Favourite Son 23 man squad

For a bit of fun and to create some discussion, I have put together a list of 23 recent players who were blessed with the opportunity of donning the candy stripes of the greatest district rugby club in the combined Sutherland and St George area, the Southern Districts Rebels.

Ahh, ‘for once’. Yip just once.

The Wrap: Resurgent Wallabies place one hand on the Bledisloe Cup

Wow, even a rock may be too big an ask.

Why I donated to Israel Folau - and why I will again

You’re probably right, I just went of one of the calculators that had changed it straight after the match.
May not have been official, but technically they were no 1.

Wallabies beat All Blacks after dominant second half in Bledisloe 1

No they have it, but need to win to keep it. Might be the shortest stint ever at 1.

I’ll concede now they look the goods. Dominant from first to last whistle.

Reading in too much again. Oh and didn’t call him anything. 100%

Hansen: 'Mickey Mouse' Cheika barb a joke

So he didn’t call Cheika Mickey Mouse and also said it was a joke.
I still feel compelled to be outraged.

Hansen: 'Mickey Mouse' Cheika barb a joke

Pretty sure Cheika wasn’t mentioned. It was a coment in response to Ella saying Micky Mouse could coach the ABs, something along the lines of ‘he’s already coaching Australia’. His coach wisperer told him to do it.

“their national pastime is luxuriating in a feeling of smug superiority”
Really? NZ? The world superpower?

He didn’t drop the knee into anyone’s head. He niggles too much, most agree on this.

James O'Connor confirmed to start in Bledisloe 1 as Wallabies make shock change at hooker

Can live with him being called a grub Sage, something he needs to get out of his game. Thuggish is left for the likes of Richard Loe which I don’t believe Coles is at yet, hopefully never.

James O'Connor confirmed to start in Bledisloe 1 as Wallabies make shock change at hooker

Agree and it is quite apt and correct to think he will be wound up by following his captain’s leadership and pointing out Hooper has a history of ill discipline against many test opponents that will rub off on Latu.

Conveniently casting dispersion on the opponent to say why a player’s discipline may come into question. As apt and applicable as saying Latu’s discipline is the result of following the lead of his captain.

“It is the typical whataboutism that a lot of people use to defend / deflect, 2 wrongs don’t make a right you know.”
Like bringing up Coles, calling him dirty and thuggish, when people were talking about Latu’s discipline.

Agree Jez, I have always believe the biggest problem here is the coaching and systems. Even within NZ this is true with the Crusaders dominating and the Storm in league keeps churning out the talent as well as turning journeymen into more consistent players.

The Wrap: The Rebels prove there is no short-cut to Super Rugby success

Mike Alaalatoa then

Potentially they both could make NZ sides using Angus Ta’avao as a guide. Your call on talent probably reflects more on the coaches than players.

Ponga was born in Western Australia, moved to Mt Isa, then Palmerston North, then Mackay, Brisbane, Townsville and finally Newcastle.
Played many sports and excelled at most.
Gifted athlete that many like to hang their hat on.

Is another league player really the answer for union?

Seems a goldfish would be more apt.

Why I donated to Israel Folau - and why I will again

Again he is not alone in this, most contributors here can’t admit they are wrong as you put it. In saying that, ‘being wrong’ is subjective.
Hello to the good people of FNQ.

And nothing to do with my comment.

Is another league player really the answer for union?

He’s not alone there. We both know what he’s like, just found it interesting how someone starts off a certain way then complains about not getting a response they like.

Israel Folau begins court action against Rugby AU and Waratahs

Disagree when it was directly about him.
I’ve seen his comments for near on a decade, yes he is set in his ways, but not everything he says is wrong. He cops just as much abuse also. I find he reaches the same conclusion by closing shop early as others who waffle on endlessly and refuse to accept anything the person they are debating says, that is disagreement The whole Folau saga is a case in point.

No, BB rolling the ball forward is the new Meads or Loe.

The Rugby Championship: The feet-up week

Fair enough, but when you lead with that, not sure why you get upset that he doesn’t want to debate you and call him a hypocrit for playing the man.
