“It was a difficult batting wicket in the end,” Abbott said.

And yet India score a record total. That is a concern we are thinking like that.

It means they need to get it right 100% of the time in 100% of people’s minds (but actually not so they have something to faux rage about in their writing)

NRL prelim finals talking points: Why Broncos have the firepower to give Penrith a run for their money

I hate that. Commentators/press always say it when the ending is the most obvious generic ending a script writer would come up with.

NRL prelim finals talking points: Why Broncos have the firepower to give Penrith a run for their money

Sure, I think that is a false equivalency but let’s do as you suggest and take knock ones away from the bunker as well.

I personally happy to take away video refs completely.

Forward pass fix should’ve happened years ago - let bunker intervene to stop clangers, otherwise trust the on-field officials

Warriors scored off an interception and twice off getting possession inside our 25 from mistakes and ref calls(not saying incorrect calls). The Warriors never looked like building pressure or getting near our line in their own.

That will be the Broncs challenge getting rid of the simple errors coming out of our own end.

Walsh reminds me a little of Matty Bowen. Not as fast or agile, and probably not as skillful but not far off and he gets involved so often he makes a real difference.

A dash of Lockyer, a sprinkling of Slater: Walters thrilled with Reece lightning rise of NRL's fastest fullback

What you don’t realise is the the Warriors were actually 12-0 up at the time Walsh threw that forward pass but the NRL were desperate to get a Brisbane Penrith GF so they gave the Broncs 42 points for that try on the sly and then constantly denied the Warriors obviously superior play with constant penalties to make sure of this outcome. Surely all that was obvious to all, it was to some Warrior fans.

ANALYSIS: Walsh puts Panthers on notice as Broncos crush Warriors to deliver first Grand Final since 2015

The 9 commentary team were openly death riding the Broncs at times. This focusing on the one blatant poor call and then making up that the refs gave the Broncs all the calls to me comes down to people buying into this Warriors story and hating the Broncs. Rational thought in the moment is a lost skill.

We dominated that game and looked a far better team. That edge defence and Cobbo’s brain farts are going to be our weak spots in the GF. If we attack with the offloads and ball movement we are in with a big shot.
Panthers forward pack is where their real strength is. Melbourne are still using the old wrestle style defence where all the players go high and grapple with just allowed the Panthers forwards and the extra forwards who play on the wing too constantly drive and push forward. That played right into Penrith’s hands. The Broncos hit with the old/new tackling technique which will hopefully nullify a bit of Penrith’s go forward. The Panthers have struggled at times over the last few years to run over us even when we were terrible and our forwards have gotten better and better as the year has gone on so this will be an epic battle.

The question should be why should teams be allowed to be in the NRL if they don’t have a home stadium that is big enough to host a final, not why big monolithic stadia are not used.

ANALYSIS: Johnson and Egan power Warriors into Prelim - but Newcastle did everything to help them out

Yes, I can’t believe people are making out they were losing on purpose last week.

Mason should be having a go at Newcastle’s forward’s. That their half, but he is too classless for that.

He has a shoulder injury but I don’t think that would have mattered.

That was the Baby Broncos that beat the Warriors. Warriors love to play us though so it will be a very tough game to win.

Your understanding is correct. Not sure about food and merchandise.

ANALYSIS: Johnson and Egan power Warriors into Prelim - but Newcastle did everything to help them out

I don’t know about putting the blame on the back three of Newcastle. They had to do a lot of hit ups to make up for how poorly the Knights forwards were going. The Warriors dominated the forward battle. They ran over the Knights. Ponga, Gamble and Clune had no chance behind that pack.

That passage after the second Storm try was the most obvious get square I can remember. Klein did not have a great game but the better team still won

The States are ignored a lot by the selectors. Greg Chappell’s nonsense still permeates the thinking of the national setup, international experience is better than State cricket no matter the format.

I am still of the belief that the States will be gone in my lifetime and replaced by the franchises. The will destroy the pathways but CA will not see it till it’s too late.

That is why I enjoy every State game Qld plays while I can.
