'It was brutal': Clutch Lolesio kicks Brumbies to 'Test match intensity' win over Reds as Wright shines again

I agree about Lonigan at number 9. ( am I being partisan?) He has kicked clutch penalties from a long way out.
There two things I too away from his game are:
1. Toole’s play. We all know that he can produce magic tries out of nothing, but in this game I was impressed by his defence, which is supposed to be his weak weak point.
2. Wright has played himself back into a WB jersey. Clearly out- played his opposites in all games so far..

'It was brutal': Clutch Lolesio kicks Brumbies to 'Test match intensity' win over Reds as Wright shines again

Why did the Brumbies let him go???

Five things we learned: Schmidt's selection headache, Carter's a No.12 wildcard, and $1m Thor must step up

If Tupou was paid by the number of minutes on the field, he would have a begging bowl out.

Wonder kid offered 3-yr, $1.6m deal to stay in Aussie rugby - and why it could see Wallabies stars leave Ballymore

Why bother throwing money on a player who haas not proved anything?
The selectors should be watching and cultivating O’Toole a winger that appears only once in a decade. His finishing ability is phenomenal. He creates trys out of nothing. Give him half a yard and he is gone.
Is he the fastest player in Super Rugby?

Hasn’t he been injured more often than not?

'Such an emotional guy': Why RA should let their biggest star leave for the sake of the Wallabies

Only one AB and one Aussie make the cut. How embarrassing.

World Cup team of the pool stage: Irish domination, minnows surprise, one Wallaby makes the cut

Oh dear. It looks like an all northern hemisphere semi-final. As an AB supporter, I never thought I would ever be rooting for SA.

World Cup team of the pool stage: Irish domination, minnows surprise, one Wallaby makes the cut

IMHO, he selected and unbalanced team. The ABs have much more respect for experience when selecting teams for the RWC. That is why so many great players retire straight after RWC, and then the renewal process starts after the Cup.
To claim that he picked a young team with the 2007 RWC is a dereliction of duty. That is not a condition of his employment. That process should start the day AFTER the end of the 2003 RWC, not BEFORE the start of the 2023 RWC.
He is just created a four year get out of jail card for his failures and arrogance.

'Keep thinking about that': Eddie's ONE great regret in WC shambles and sliding doors moment that cost QF place

What is Tupuo’s injury rate? How many consecutive games was he able to play? I cannot recall many this year.

The Wrap: Tupou coup looks more profound by the day, Christie vitriol out of order, Argies and Scots a shambles

Does anybody know why White had to leave the Brumbies?

Wallabies bolter has played just one Test - but picking him over veteran would stick to Eddie's new 'mantra'

Is there a prize for the referee that hands out the most cards in this tournament?

Barrett CLEARED for Rugby World Cup opener

Only one specialist flyhallf in the squad is insane.
Think back to the 2011 World Cup final. NZ had injuries the chosen THREE- fly halves and had to calll up a FOURTH flyhallf, away from his fishing trip, to kick the winning penalty.
Good luck with that, Eddie. O’Connor Is now too slow for the job at international level.

Shock and raw: New skipper, rookies galore and Test careers brutally ended as Eddie's RWC bombshells CONFIRMED

Is Jorgensen a better prospect than Corey Toole??

Some of those kicks were truely horrible.

'Absolute beast mode': All Blacks bash Boks with Frizell and Jordan on fire in stirring win

BB cannot resist being too clever. Deep in their own 25 and a 20 point lead and 3 minutes to play, every other player in the world would have kicked long and into touch to wind down the clock. He continued with dinky little kick which resulted in a Bok try, and hope for another one . Shades of the England draw last year. Carter would have known what to do. Give it to Jodie – the man with the giant boot.
35-15 is a much more impressive score and a dispiriting one for the Boks. Their coach is now boasting that they “won” the second half.

McD did a lot of cross-field running -RL style. They will be waiting for him next time. At times I thought that he might be penalised for sheparding/obstruction

'We were outstanding': All Blacks start with three tries in 12 minutes to stun Argentina

Yep,I agree. They were outscored (just) in the 2nd half, when the Puma’s decided to not kick away possession.
Did they relax or did the Puma’s match them?
McD kicking was awful. My grandmother would have converted the first two tries

'We were outstanding': All Blacks start with three tries in 12 minutes to stun Argentina

Has Hoper lost some speed and stamina? I am not an expert on forward play, but he seemed a bit rusty in what I have been able to observe.

COMMENT: Eddie has made one huge gamble - and it's not the No.10 call - as he avoids ruthless Hooper decision

I haven’t watched all that many Hurricanes games this year, but I have been disappointed by the form of one of my favourite players, Jordie Barrett, at #12. Has he lost too much speed for wing ?
I loved him when he was on the wing climbing high to score off the bombs in the corner.

'Total belief': Cane still All Blacks captain as FIVE debutants named in TRC squad, gun fullback misses out

That Canes coach does not know basic rugby rules. Even he said that Savea “probably” scored that try and also nthat he “definitely scored the try”. a basic contradiction.
Tries in rugby union are not awarded on “probablity” . The video ref could have reversed the decision and awarded the try if he could have seen a definite grounding. He could not, so he did not.

Rugby News: Kiwi players' boss backs RA's Super draft plan, Canes coach still moaning about Berry role in no-try call

I have been a fan of Tom Wright ever since he scored an impossible try with no room to move, for the Brumbies 3 years ago. However he has badly missed at least two one-on-one tackles this year which confirms he is not an international full back. Back to the wing for him with a license to roam?
Another favourite ex-winger of mine is Jordie Barrett who has disappointed this year. He belongs on the wing with his great ability to leap for high kicks on the try line. Has he let his speed? Why did he make the move?

The Wrap: Super Rugby’s semi-final cream rises to the top

India has shown in the past that it is capable of unexpectedly chasing down huge fourth inning totals despite failing to perform earlier in the match.
