I am not an aggrieved Canberra Raiders supporter still upset about that 'six again!' call. This is science. My scientific research began when I…
I watched parts of the first day of the Australian Open, so I'm now a certified tennis expert – just like everyone else in…
Thanks for the comments all.
I also think it would be interesting to see the 31 times he was run-out (and how many were with M Waugh).
So if anyone wants to curate them I’d appreciate it ????

I’d take the field over these two teams in a wooden spoon market.
Titans versus Dragons: Who wins this wooden spoon clash?
It’s a bit disingenuous to say McAfee liked it despite there being nothing unfamiliar.
He liked it because he’s an ex-NFL punter and saw a game full of punting! It was the familiarity to his expertise that drew him in.
Was still an amusing react. It’s a shame some ex-NFL offensive or defensive player didn’t stumble upon NRL for their reactions too.

How hot a take would it be to rate RTS more highly than Tedesco? Asking for a friend.
The Roar’s NRL top 50 wrap: The full list, who voted for who, team of the top 50, plus best clubs and positions
A tough and thankless task. It is brave to be fully transparent on it. On quick glance the things that stand out for me:
Taumalolo 13th by one expert.
A few judges way overrating Keary and W Graham IMO.
Not sure how SST, Taupau and Manu get left out of a top 50.
C Graham 11th!

You promised Johns(t)ons but also kept up with the Joneses. Good stuff.
I just saw you did this for RL, will spend a few hours reading those soon.

This take is accurate.
I learned the other day that what is more offensive than ladder predictions is writing an article suggesting we replace the premiership with a championship belt.
Expert ladder predictions are offensive

Amazing effort getting an I team out.

Sorry, I ordered the Raiders a belt and everything. It has a spinning faceplate like John Cena’s in WWE.

Apologies it was Monday not Saturday. That was laziness in writing this on my part.
But the two games I picked were played first on the day, the others were played immediately after. So that’s why I chose those two. My starting point is not flawed.

Because they didn’t have the belt.

Thanks for the comment.
Single challenge is too hard. This way we are up to the 132nd championship reign, I would guess it would be thousands if there was no double challenge. I gave up on that approach fairly early.
The longest reign is the Dragons from R1 1957 to mid-1963. Probably not too surprising. I have a spreadsheet, if this gets enough love, I can do some historical follow-ups.

Except the Roosters weren’t the champions at the start of 2019. It doesn’t reset every year. Bad luck mate. Maybe you can celebrate after R11.

Hectic take. I don’t hate it.
What I do hate is that the Storm not only have 3 of the 10 best rakes in the game on their books, but seemingly will be able to retain them all and smoothly transition into the future. It’s not fair… that they are so good are at managing their squad.
All jokes aside, Brandon Smith should be the face of the game
His game has limitations but they are more than offset by the fact he’s a winner. Has made every team he’s joined significantly better and more successful. There’s not many players you can say that about. Underrated player.
Where does James Maloney rate among the NRL's greats?
Agreed. I now switch off all men’s tennis after three sets are played. Seen some cracking matches decided in the 3rd set tiebreak, only to see to loser enter the next round for some reason.

No 189 in the world is coming out the “Loser” by Beck. Obviously.

Oh look it’s that thing I wrote before creating an account. What a n00b!

I think you’re right in your assessment. Mostly they are standard mixups, not a selfish/brainless runner wreaking havoc.
It is really hard without full context to judge, but occasionally he might have shown a lack of flexibility… examples like running out a lumbering fast bowler attempting a three, or early in his career taking a quick single at 4/50 in a Test innings, could show greater game awareness. Another one where he ran out Boonie, who was kinda ball watching but had also batted all day for 137 and was probably spent. But he literally batted for tens of thousands of deliveries, to err is human…
Maybe the worst looking one is the last… Waugh and Martyn have a mixup where Waugh just keeps coming and beats Martyn to the crease at the same end. Then the scoreboard comes up and Martyn was 42 and S Waugh 0. I think it was the start of a new day but you’d think Waugh should make the sacrifice there
