Sebastian Vettel’s disrespect for the stewards is a new low for Formula One
Mate, we can’t afford any kind of houses in this country.
Sebastian Vettel’s disrespect for the stewards is a new low for Formula One
I got some perspective on this after Mark Webber retired when it became clear that not only did some people within Red Bull but also a huge percentage of F1 fans thought that Webber was a villain out to stop Vettel from becoming a deserving world champion. This despite the fact that everyone in my circle had a view that was 180 degrees in the other direction.
I think when his run of wins ended he had to work harder, get some perspective and probably won some people back with his playful character. Sadly we’ve seen lately just how childish he really can be.

We all agree that when a football game erupts into a punch on that it’s exciting! Only question is, what penalties should there be?
Sebastian Vettel’s disrespect for the stewards is a new low for Formula One
I think abusing an official is 100% unacceptable, verbally or physically. In this way they are the same, yes. Naturally one is verbal and one is physical, my follow on comment specifically outlined scenarios where the player/driver would be disciplined and yet hours, even days after the race there was not even any indication whether Vettel would be investigated.
Sebastian Vettel’s disrespect for the stewards is a new low for Formula One
Swearing directly at the stewards over the radio certainly qualifies as abuse. What made it particularly egregious is that is wasn’t as those his message was legitimate and happened to include swearing, i.e. “Tell Verstappen to get out of the f***ing way!”
I also get the feeling that you think Whiting is the bad guy in this situation, which if true I simply cannot accept.

I’m 100% against making the races shorter. Maybe they could lower the maximum race time from 2 hours to 1:45 or something, but honestly… when people are paying top dollar giving them something like a 30 min or 1 hour race is ludicrous.
As to shortening the season? I’m sure that part of the reason it feels so long is the sameness of most race weekends. As a fan I want more racing, more action. I’d push for something to be done to overhaul that actual racing and let cars follow each other and overtake – THEN we might have less monotony and a more memorable season overall.
F1 is becoming F-too-long as the 2016 season drags on forever
There certainly was one at one time! It’s always going to be a popularity contest, but like all such contests you either need to accept the results for what they are or dictate when it’s being taking advantage of… which it clearly was this weekend.
Max Verstappen earning Driver Of The Day in the US is ridiculous
Exactly Jawad, I said something similar in the answer above – great minds! It also reminds me of cricket voting contest like “Classic Catches” where most of the options are from the home broadcaster, and one of those almost always wins.

Maybe they could offer up three candidates that voters choose from? That why can control the non-sense while still making the audience feel like they are making something like a democratic choice…. I’ll pitch it to Bernie 😉
Max Verstappen earning Driver Of The Day in the US is ridiculous
Great comment! Where’s our awards, I ask you?
Max Verstappen earning Driver Of The Day in the US is ridiculous
It would have to be, no other explanation

I can’t wait until we finally get the bottom of whether Vettel was deliberately tanking in 2014.
Hulkenberg takes the manufacturer bait
Yeah, some nice merch wouldn’t go astray 😉
Is Nico Hulkenberg set to farewell Force India?
Perez has his good and bad days, there’s no doubt. I’ve just always found him pretty one-dimensional.
Is Nico Hulkenberg set to farewell Force India?
Lol, I guess you always say stuff like that when you’re announcing young drivers!
Is Nico Hulkenberg set to farewell Force India?
Yeah, aside from the resources at hand, Renault have the prestigious track record of winning championships – something that Force India realistically can’t do in the mid-term without substantial external investment.
Is Nico Hulkenberg set to farewell Force India?
Both drivers have had ups and downs, certainly Hamilton’s reliability issues have cost him the title. Does Rosberg deserve to win? Certainly, he’s beaten Hamilton handily on occasion and regrouped when the chips were stacked against him, as opposed to Hamilton who went to water this weekend.
Does Rosberg deserve the 2016 title more than Hamilton?
Everyone knows…. Vettel is going back to Red Bull and Ricciardo is going to Ferrari 😉
Ferrari buckles in winless season
Fernando handled himself excellently in the face of numerous sticky questions about the decisions of where to drive in his career and why/when Honda will return to the front of the grid during the Thursday press conference in Japan. Lewis’ antics where about as far away from such a professional display as it gets, that’s how it’s relevant.
Alonso: When, not if, McLaren will win a race - especially with those first lap skills
Thanks for reading and listening Mark, it means a lot! Fernando seems to be showing the rest of the grid that the car underneath you isn’t as important as your approach and attitude behind the wheel – setting a great example.
Alonso: When, not if, McLaren will win a race - especially with those first lap skills
The really interesting thing about the position we now find ourselves in is that it’s fairly even, there’s no relevance in which driver had technical issues throughout the season. We’re starting from now, there’s six races left and it’s winner takes all. It’s time for the best driver to stand and deliver, it’ll be fascinating to see how it plays out and it truly could go either way at this point.
Rosberg vs Hamilton: The battle to define 2016
Haha, i’ll have to correct that one – thanks!
Yep, there’s no doubt he’s capable of bouncing back. I worry too that it could be a sign of a deeper trouble or maybe just that he’s had excusable justifications for not winning (engine issues, brake issues, etc.) and believes that the wins will simply come to him. I think he’ll have to work even harder than before if he wants to win the title this year, it won’t be easy because Rosberg is at the top of his game at the moment.
What's happened to Lewis Hamilton's burning desire?
Red Bull used to regularly have 1 sec a lap over the competitors, they would often have to limit their lead to around 30 seconds because they were concerned they’d wear out their tyres of a safety car or something neutralised their lead.
But, to say that Webber had too much ego is about the silliest comment I’ve heard on this website.
