I genuinely don’t like him. He carries on like a spoilt brat and if he was an Aussie he’d have played maybe 40 or 50 tests at most, not 167.

Leach isn’t half the bowler Lyon is so I don’t think it’s fair when England counter the Lyon injury by saying oh we lost Leach! Everything had gone against them until the rain in Manchester, even yesterday the sun disappeared yet again during change of innings. Been a great series and it would be unbelievable if Australia get the win. Before Edgbaston I’d never seen Australia win a close one like that and I think they’ll get a lot of belief out of that victory

I’m right of centre yet can’t understand this labelling of the cricket team as woke. Yes Cummins is into his climate change stuff but he’s allowed his beliefs, and I don’t know who else is woke. They aren’t exactly dying their hair blue and putting pronouns on the team list.
Fingers crossed Warner and Khawaja can get themselves in again and get us to 200, that’d really make things interesting.

So there’s a Gilly quality replacement for Warner is there? This NSW bias tin foil hat stuff is ridiculous. They have produced most of the best players since I’ve followed cricket, that’s why they have the highest test representation most of the time. Not because of bias. But because of the best pathways and opportunities and coaching and economy. So take the tin foil hats off and support Australia, who cares what state a player is from!

People say Ponting should’ve retired earlier for his legacy, but he played on as Australia had no replacements and an over the hill Ponting averaging 40 instead of 55 was still useful. And does anyone, when thinking of Punter, think of the old bloke who struggled against the short ball, or the bloke who played the hook shot better than anyone and always scored big in big games? Long story short legacy isn’t determined by your last few years, it’s your whole career

I thought he should’ve been dropped after game one for Edwards, but if he has a full pre season and plays at his best for the Rorters next year it’d be silly to rule him out.
Also how short are a lot of NSW fans memories? Winning a dead rubber against a hungover QLD team that already had the series wrapped up, should not guarantee anyone a jersey for next year and Freddy and Brandy must go.

Good point. But I think that speaks more to Lyons career best form, and Head bowled beautifully. I like Murphy and think he’ll have a long career but if the captain won’t show faith in him, someone like Zampa who is a cool cat and has experience in big games, cup finals etc., he could surprise England and thrive with them going after him. On the flip side they could absolutely flay him, I’m not married to the idea but I think it could be an effective ploy vs Bazball

He did well in the WtC and the first two tests. His job this series is to bat time and protect the middle order. The one test he didn’t we lost. Yes he’s past it, he’s not going to make many runs. But do you honestly think throwing Renshaw or Harris to the wolves is the best decision? I have the same confidence in those two to make runs as I do Warner, at least Warner is a very good fielder. I could see Marnus opening and Marsh or Green at 3. Alternatively Warner coming in at 5 or 6 could be different, the ball not singing, the bowlers a bit tired, and a license to go hard.

With England attacking spinners like its an ODI, should we select an ODI spinner? Zampa I know isn’t much of a red baller, but he excels with the batsmen going at him and has plenty of tricks to get them out. Just a thought, won’t happen but I saw him doing an interview somewhere and thought geez he could be a left field option against Bazball

Mate you’ve got no idea, yes there were some Aussie teams in the past whose behaviour was at times ordinary, but this team are almost too well behaved. Far better than the poms and their fans. Warner plays with a smile on his face nowadays, never sledges.
