Marks is making good smart moves but they didn’t have the best offseason. Superstars like Butler are cost controlled below their value and are exceedingly rare. If you can get one of them for as little as Minnesota gave up it’s a huge win.

The Brooklyn Nets are the clear winners of this year's NBA offseason

I think the warriors will breeze through again but I really really hope the east is able to seriously challenge or beat the cavs. It’s not good for the league to have the same finals year on year

'Check the numbers, I did my part': The validation of Kevin Durant

Shastri is a BCCI cheerleader and has basically been put in as a patsy while Kohli runs the show.

Will be all good unless he grows a spine and wants to have any kind of real influence.

Ravi Shastri’s appointment as the head coach is the right decision

Would put Houston second. The spurs haven’t really improved and the Rockets nearly bet them and have added Paul and (likely) Carmelo. Through in Capela, Nene, Ariza, PJ Tucker and Eric Gordon and that’s a hell of a well rounded roster.

Quest to be best of the rest in the West

Respectfully Mary, if you pay your money and go to the game you can gesticulate however you wish as long as you aren’t racially (or otherwise) vilifying someone.

It is never OK to boo your team

‘Ever heard of Andre Iguodala?” Ridiculous. If you know even the slightest bit about basketball you should know the kind of quality player AI the 2nd is.

State of Origin: Man of the match selection process is broken

Dead set, was at the game and he must have turned down at least 5 oppurtunities to put an unmarked corey oates away tonight and just held it.

Brisbane Broncos vs South Sydney Rabbitohs: NRL live scores, blog, highlights

Interesting article Nick,

Was recently in France and caught the conclusion to the Top 14, got to say I was surprised.

From all the talk in Australia you would think these European comps were B grade at best, I was pleasantly surprised by a ripping game of rugby. Just a shame Toulon couldn’t get over the line in the dying moments!

As a side note – Ma’a Nonu is still completely a cut above, it really is remarkable.

The curious case of Will Skelton shows the south can learn from the north

Well said Baz.

Are superstar calls now a thing in the NRL?

+1

Are superstar calls now a thing in the NRL?

1) Hand(s) on the ball at all causing dislodgement is a penalty; correct.
2) This was unequivocally a penalty with he contact made to the head. Found it laughable flicking between this and the AFL at the same time. I love both sports but the NRL’s ‘faux’ protection of the head is laughable compared to the AFL’s stance on high tackles.
3) While he was taking the shot, independent doctor was reviewing the footage. After the shot this was complete and he advised the trainer to remove Milford for further assessment. Procedure followed fairly.
4) This was late, an illegal shoulder charge and unnecessary. You say it was a penalty – why include it in your list?
5)50/50 call yes, try was called on field so tough for bunker to overrule this when it was highly possible the ball was pushed/stripped out by a bunnies player.
6) In close up ultra slow mo multiple replays a tiny knock on was revealed that no one spotted at full speed. Regardless of who the player was it’s highly likely the refs would have missed that regardless.

You’ve constructed a big straw man based on a couple of late big plays going Brisbane’s way which happened to involve their most prevalent player (which probability wise they are most likely to do).

I dont think any of the critics were ever using warner as the yardstick…

India vs Australia Highlights: Third Test, cricket live scores, blog – Day 5

Unfortunately regardless of Smith I think we are cooked, can’t see who’s going to bat with him

India vs Australia Highlights: Third Test, cricket live scores, blog – Day 4

Be over by lunch tomorrow.

India vs Australia Highlights: Third Test, cricket live scores, blog – Day 4

After reading your comments throughout the day I’m convinced your clinically unstable and should seek professional help.

India vs Australia Highlights: Third Test, cricket live scores, blog – Day 4

Please make it quick so we can be spared Michael Clarke’s cringeworthy Ishant batting commentary and anticipation

India vs Australia Highlights: Third Test, cricket live scores, blog – Day 4

All interesting, but yes the previous two were more entertaining on a ball to ball action perspective

India vs Australia Highlights: Third Test, cricket live scores, blog – Day 4

This is starting to have a very ominous feeling of a Day 5 Aussie batting collapse…

India vs Australia Highlights: Third Test, cricket live scores, blog – Day 4

Are you seriously comparing a couple of bouncers on a docile pitch with a batsman dying?

My lord, you’re comments are going further and further down the drain as the series elapses Anindya.

Terrible terrible comment.

Karma is a funny thing.

Virat Kohli in serious doubt after injuring shoulder in third Test

The guy has lost the plot, his ego is so big that he has lost all perspective of his behavior.

It’s a bit sad, he’s a delusional megalomaniac.

India vs Australia Highlights: Cricket live scores, blog, second Test – Day 4

Couldn’t agree more, it’s disgraceful and he’s an embarrassment to the game.

India vs Australia Highlights: Cricket live scores, blog, second Test – Day 4

Would have to say India is the poorest behaved team in cricket and it seems to get overlooked.

If an Australian carried on like Kohli, they’d be in front of the match review panel quick smart and shamed throughout the world cricket media.

In this series so far, Australia have played the game in a gentlemanly spirit with smiles on their faces while India (particularly Kohli) act like petulant children trying to intimidate all and sundry into bending to their will.

Turnovers are a function of usage – there’s going to be a certain number of turnovers per game anyway and when you hve 40-50% usage you will have high turnovers.

In that context, team turnovers would be more reflective of any reason for concern for the Thunder, rather than Westbrook’s individual numbers.

LeBron James: Greatness taken for granted

Not a great teamate? He’s averaging double digit assists despite the fact that no one on his team can hit a shot in a reliable manner?

Imagine if he had korver, irving, love, frye and similar 40% shooters around him he would average 15+ dimes lol

He literally wills his team to wins his clutch performance this year (statistically) is off the charts.

I feel you are disregarding his season criminally.
