As a Parra fan, it’s not about our dominant first 60 minutes, it’s about our inconsistent and lackluster final 20.
We don’t have that killer instinct that Melbourne has. We’ll score enough points, but not enough to put teams away and give them a chance late in the game.
The biggest question to be answered for each NRL final
I accept Steve Smith as my Lord and Saviour.
Have you heard the good news about Steve Smith?
As a Chelsea fan, top 6 is the dream, but realistically, top 8 is where we should land.
We’re firing well with the squad we’ve been granted, especially with the lack of experience from our academy players. Just need to tweak the substitutions and we’ll be right.
We’re suffering out the back, but when Toni comes back and with a healthy Kante, the backline should start performing well.
Tough start for Lampard
This is a bit late but I’m surprised Armada and Leffen have been left out of this list.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: The players to watch (Part 1)
I do think there’s a limit in which Oceanic esports will grow, which is controlled by our poor infrastructure. That’s where we see the biggest drop-off for potential pros.
Riot used to run the OPL with the players at home and there was a huge incident regarding DDOSers and players. They’ve now subsidised the housing for players to be able to play locally at the HQ.
Investment is becoming less of the issue with some games, but support from developers who are building the scene in other regions is needed here.
Is this the future of esports in Australia?
Difficult to watch the HBO coverage. Lederman was so heavily biased towards Kovalev, while Kellerman was very obvious in his Ward preference. I personally had it 114-113 Kovalev. It seems like from round 4 onwards, any knife-edge decision would go the way of Ward.
Controversy overshadowed boxing's biggest fight of the year
Broncos just need a game manager. I would’ve preferred they trade for AJ McCarron, who will place it where it needs to and steady the ship while the D does what it does best.
NFL season preview Part 4: The elite
It’s trying to show that eSports is not such a distant concept of ‘sport’, as many traditional sports fans will see, I’ve defined the spine in p4 ‘What holds a team up’, examples of spines in professional sport, and the second last paragraph.
It’s a set of crucial players that you build a team around, which finds more success. QLD have had the same core players, NSW tried to start the core with Pearce and Farah, but they’ve never been able to nail down a consistent half and fullback. eSport teams are relatively young, and the different titles are establishing ways to define their best teams (CS:GO with majors, DotA2 with TI, LoL with WC and Smith with SWC), so while there’s a very small sample pool to choose from, the trend of successful teams with an established spine or ‘core’ is something we’re starting to consistently see.
eSports parallels with traditional sport: The Spine
I might put the Bucs as a 7-9 team, and maybe put the Titans above the Lions. Everyone’s going to be sleeping on the ’15 1/2 draft picks.
I don’t see any strong points with the 49ers, they’re pretty weak in every single position, except the QBs blind side and their linebacker stock. And they’re in the NFC West so that’s an easy six losses against Seattle/Arizona and even the Rams, who would easily force mistakes from Gabbert (lol) and Kaep (bigger lol).
2016 NFL season preview Part 1: The cellar dwellers
Looking at UTS and UNSW to be the dominant NSW universities for LoL and Unigames. Well established League societies/clubs, and UTS have had teams competiting since the start of the Oceanic servers.
League of Legends to be played at Unigames this year
For reference, I had the following:
R1: 10-9 Pac (Round to Pac 10-9)

R3: 29-28 Pac (Round to Bradley 10-9)
R4: 39-37 Pac (Round to Pac 10-9)
R5: 48-47 Pac (Round to Bradley 10-9)
R6: 58-56 Pac (Round to Pac 10-9)
R7: 68-64 Pac (Round to Pac 10-8)
R8: 77-74 Pac (Round to Bradley 10-9)
R9: 87-82 Pac (Round to Pac 10-8)

Congratulations Manny! Whatever your decision is, it’s been a pleasure watching your slug it out becoming one of the best in the world, maybe a spot as one of the greatest of all time.

It would be an amazing storyline though. The old guard vs the new blood.
You can never tell with these ‘retirements’ though..

After this fight, we can gauge how serious Canelo’s camp was when he said he was taking a look at Pacquiao. That would be a blockbuster ending to a stellar career.

IMT/TSM is a tough one, can’t rule out the TSM playoff buff. Whoever wins that will probably be the split champions.
