Very good.

The Strikers were missing a couple of players as well, apparently. Regardless, the front page was a d*ck move by The West Australian, which looked pretty stupid afterwards.

Not the Scorchers fault, but they were made to look a bit silly by some A-hole sports editor who no doubt thought he was being terribly clever.

While I follow the Sixers, I wouldn’t mind if the Strikers won either. Lloyd Pope has been great to watch.

'Said we were a stack of dominos': Perth disrespect leads to sweet Strikers revenge as spin twins skittle Scorchers

I hope this morning’s front page compares the Scorchers to Jenga. Pull out the right block and the rest come tumbling down.

'Test cricket - it's easy!': Joseph steals show with dream debut, Green marks return with two stunners

I don’t think there’s anything cynical about that view at all. Hopefully it works and both Smith and Green play well, otherwise the selectors are going to look a bit silly.

The final stand: How Steve Smith's shift to opener exposes the Australian cricket team's twilight era

Old people saying ‘Back in their day’ is every sport. Actually, that’s everything.

West Indies playing for their future as a legitimate Test nation with memory fading of long lost Calypso glory days

Ah, right. Cheers, Roseville.

Players allowed to go at snail’s pace with over rates but fans’ complaints fall on deaf ears at ICC

They were also 5 ball overs weren’t they?

Warner wins battle, Smith wins war as Sixers claim Sydney Smash victory despite champion's golden duck

Warner replaced Bancroft as opener for the Thunder. I bet Bailey was behind it!

Picking apart the selectors’ choices in the Bailey era: Masterstrokes tarnished by blunders as Australia face future upheaval

I’ve decided that my last Roar post will be on January 7, 2030. Of course this will be up to the selectors.

Picking apart the selectors’ choices in the Bailey era: Masterstrokes tarnished by blunders as Australia face future upheaval

Good morning, Roarers!

I’ve decided to play a game of Roar Bingo and have chosen 10 words, phrases or postulations that I believe will appear in the comments section of this article, over the next 24 hours.

Solid start so far, as I’ve already crossed off 2 from the list.

No, but the Premier of WA writes to Cameron Green every day to remind him that he carries the hopes and dreams of the entire state on his shoulders. Only once Green has conquered all three cricket formats as a batsman, bowler and captain will justice be served for all good citizens under the Black Swan.

Four sight: Callous critics need to realise 'something special' factor can turn Green into Australia's Jacques Kallis

All he’d need do is renounce his sorry past and join the Sacred and Ancient Order of the Waratah.

LOL. If Green was from NSW there would be even more fuss. He’d be included as ‘One of the Big 4’ and the ‘NSW cartel’.

Possibly, although the OP seemed to believe that Bancroft was specifically left out of the team because of his role in the ball tampering itself, rather than anything he may have said about it afterwards.

If Bancroft does have evidence that other players were aware of the ball tampering, then he should tell us exactly what he knows. Alluding to what others may or may not have known (similar to what Warner’s manager has done) doesn’t help at all. It simply casts further doubt over an issue that we all thought had been dealt with.

If there has been a cover up by CA to protect other members of the team, then that is a real problem.

'Best six batters in the country': Smith will open and Green returns as Bailey denies Bancroft rift over Sandpaper saga

In answer to your question, it’s very likely because ‘Sandpapergate’ isn’t the reason Bancroft wasn’t picked.

Mitch Marsh was one of the bowlers. Surely he could put in a good word for Bancroft?

Yes, I remember the outcry from certain sections of the Roar. It’s even funnier now, than it was then.

They wouldn’t let Boland play for the Stars earlier in the BBL season either.

Before God does.

Every Australian Test opener option, ranked: Why sending Smith up is a recipe for disaster

It does feels that way sometimes. The selectors should probably choose Bancroft to open, leave Smith at 4 and send Green back to Shield until Marsh loses form or retires.
