I can easily see them finishing 9th though 😉

Where will your team finish in the 2014 AFL season?

Worst fans in the country? Perhaps I’m biased as a Sydney Swans supporter but there’s no way we’re as bad as the black and white army 😉

Why the Tahs' fans are the worst in the world

I was there last night. It was utter mayhem. My mate pointed out Mitch Rein and someone we thought was Craig Gravey but he’s hardly a first grader. Fingers crossed it’s no one substantial. I thought my club was above this sort of behaviour but apparently not.

WIZ: The Price is right for the Dragons

Usually I’m a defender of head coaches. I don’t like seeing a couch get sacked part way through a season. I make an exception with Steve Price. He needs to be shown the door. On paper the Dragons don’t have a bad side. It’s not particularly brilliant either. But it has potential to grow into something great… So long as Price isn’t at the helm (and The Saints stop recruiting exclusively from Canberra)

Souths show Dragons Charity in second half

When the NRL eventually expands, it’ll be into territories with proven rugby markets. Brisbane and a second New Zealand team would be my best guess. It won’t be until the 2nd expansion phase that you might see Western Australian and South Australian based teams.

Can the Bulldogs beat the Storm minus Slater?

I agree. I love seeing Port in that guernsey for everything it represents. I’m from NSW but I’m more excited for this game than any other. BRING ON THE FOOTY ALREADY!

SA state guernsey should be sacrosanct

I think you might be underselling Sydney and overestimating how well Richmond will play. Don’t get me wrong. The Tigers have a great side and played well last season. But when you compare them with the best teams from last year they’re still not in the top 4 of the league.

On paper the Swans have the best team in the AFL. Of course paper doesn’t translate to wins but their 2013 campaign was hampered by a ridiculous amount of injuries. If they can keep fit they’re a real contender for a minor premiership and Grand Final appearance.

I can see North Melbourne moving up the list. Gold Coast should end 2014 higher up the ladder too. The wildcard is Geelong in my opinion. Will they be competitive? Sure. Are they a top 4 side in 2014? I’m not convinced

Oh and I don’t think Collingwood are going to plummet down the ladder. I don’t like Nathan Buckley as a coach. But he’s not going to cause an internal collapse at the magpies

Gazing into the crystal Sherrin: predictions for the AFL season

If Selwood can stay healthy and maintain the performances he had in the second half of 2013 then he is my pick for the Brownlow.

Can Ablett make it back-to-back Brownlows in 2014?

Buddy just has that star factor that is difficult to replicate. The hawks will challenge for the flag again but all eyes will be on Sydney in 2014. And if the Swan’s experienced players can remain healthy they’re hard to back against

Hawthorn the premiership favourites, but can they move on without Buddy?

I don’t think you’ll ever see jersey’s without advertisements in Australian sports. Part of the reason American clubs can do this is because they’re individual, multi-billion dollar franchises. Australian teams are not. I like the idea of adding names and picking numbers. I’d buy a jersey with my favourite player on it in a heart beat. It’s the only reason I own an NBA and NFL jersey.

The fumble rule will not happen. If you add in the fumble it changes the dynamic of the entire game. I do think the knock on needs overhauling. Too many times the ball would hit the ground and be immediately ruled a turnover even though it clearly didn’t go forwards. But making it a free-for-all is not the solution.

Proper time management is a must. The AFL do it brilliantly. When play has stopped so does the clock. It makes sense and I agree with you wholeheartedly.

Yes to free agency and yes to trade period. The current NRL setup is a joke

In order for TV coverage to improve Channel 9 would have to invest deeply in rugby league. I want it to happen. 2 delayed games on free to air is rubbish. But I can’t see it changing in the future. Not without league changing homes

Five elements NRL could steal from NFL

I’m going to my first BBL game tonight and I can’t wait. It’s certainly not real cricket but it’s a couple hours of fun my mates and I can get behind. And it’s a welcome change to watching the A-league on a friday night. I love my wanderers but the BBL is much more exciting

Why I have no interest in the Big Bash League

As a resident of Wollongong I don’t think we’ll see a resurgence of the wolves anytime soon. There just isn’t any support down here. Everybody wants the a-league to be successful and expand but it’s going to take a serious amount of time before it happens

The A-League must expand to improve
