In this mid-season review, I will cover where I expect each club to end up at season's end, explanation of the season so far…
Anyone who thought they weren’t going to win a game was delusional. More than enough talent in that team and then you have the spirit of the remaining players who want to prove themselves and the youth trying to do the same, but for different reasons. Tip them to be middle of the table ladies and gentleman.
How will history remember the 2016 Essendon Bombers?
This is the normal frustration with Shaun Marsh. He plays one good innings that normally gets him to keep his spot and then he is poor for a number of games. This time he’s got competition.
Sorry Shaun, but Usman and Joe took their chances first
17-5 doesn’t work logistically.
Clubs are going to want 11 home games a season. You cannot guarantee that with a floating fixture, especially given some teams have to play around soccer and when league want stadiums.
Also, the 5 rounds seem like extra finals games. Could end up reducing quality of finals matches. You don’t need 9 rounds of finals, but that’s what it could feel like.
An AFL fixture that would change the game
To be honest, probably because Tassie fans don’t want to see Lions get smashed again. Maybe they want someone who might beat Hawks in Tassie. Maybe they have to play their seconds team their.
2016 AFL fixture revealed
AFL has a crap time balancing out access to MCG for interstate teams.
2016 AFL fixture revealed
Swans might every so often. Pretty sure they did in 2013.
Breaking down the 2016 AFL fixture
NSW and Victorian sides would probably beat a lot of National sides. Others would challenge it too.
Australian stars to flood domestic cricket competition
Hence I said not best on ground. Kennedy will get lots of 3s I expect but Dan with lots of 2s.
Nathan Fyfe claims 2015 Brownlow Medal: Live count, results
I reckon Hannebery or Priddis wins from here. I don’t think Fyfe will have enough to stave them off as they both will poll even if not best on ground.
Nathan Fyfe claims 2015 Brownlow Medal: Live count, results
I think both Hawks or Crows could put Fremantle to task if they play like they did on Saturday. If they play their best then it gets interesting.
Swans facing an uphill battle against the Eagles. Full strength or not, West Coast are the powerhouse team at the moment that the Swans would have to beat undermanned.
All-WA grand final still on track as Hawks and Swans face sudden death
I know someone who did that for the NRL…
Literal basis of their tipping: What mascot would win in an actual fight?
And it worked…they won the comp.
Finals Forecast: West Coast vs Hawthorn
Seems like he has some pretty good people around him to help get through this.
All the best Lance.
Sydney's Lance Franklin ruled out of first final
Write off any of these teams at your own peril. All 8.
Eagles and Swans will give Hawks a fair fight
If anyone has ever been taught anything, it’s when you are looking to get out of anything you do so by making yourself a smaller not a bigger target by chucking your arm out which is exactly what Stokes did.

Steve Smith has nothing to apologise for
I actually quite like this.
Brownlow, Brownlow on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?
It would be a disservice to the award if Mitchell gets it. I don’t think he will though.
Fyfe's Brownlow hopes in trouble after report
Anthony, well..Hird’s gone. I think I said Hird should have gone. I thought it was despicable they re-signed him and I stand by that statement. In no other busienss or even AFL club would he have survived this. Essendon is a very unique situation.
How much longer can James Hird hang on?
Because our coaches haven’t been under investigation for using drugs in other clubs and for the most part are going along fine? And we came to this article to discuss Hird and not other coaches, because you know, we like to stay reasonably topical?
If you want to write an article about another coach go ahead. But this one is about Hird.
How much longer can James Hird hang on?
When I agree with Gene is when I know things have gotten serious.
Although they are going to let him see out the review as much as people might want him to go.
How much longer can James Hird hang on?
Pretty sure all clubs have supplement programs though. There are fine lines but people need to realise players are on a variety of things too in general.
How much longer can James Hird hang on?
No it’s the club for letting Hird continue on despite having a fair idea what would have happened themselves. There was every possibility they could have let Hird’s contract terminate no, they signed him on for another 2 years at a million dollars year!
Unfortunate thing is, if Hird goes others have blood in their hands (figuratively) and should go with him -> Paul Little for one.
How much longer can James Hird hang on?
Above to the others,
If someone like Dustin Fletcher (who I think is a great player and one of those 34 mentioned I do believe) suddenly gets asked to take these supplements, does he ask questions having been around for that long or take the drugs? What about the other experienced players at the club?
WADA and ASADA don’t care if the players don’t know. It’s their responsibility. I’m pretty sure they would be aware of that.
TB4 does occur naturally in the body but the results have shown they are at ‘abnormal’ levels.
I too originally didn’t think Essendon have much to answer for. But after years and years, I’m not sure how Paul you can suggest when records go ‘missing’ that the club can be innocent. They clearly tried to dupe someone…
How much longer can James Hird hang on?
Hird will go when this ‘review’ is finalised at end of the season. It’s his only ‘saving’ grace at the moment.
How much longer can James Hird hang on?
Of course you can. The greatest of all time, Tony Lockett never won a premiership. In fact only played in one grand final. In a team of 22, it is very hard for one player to drag his team over the line for a premiership. You can in individual finals but not to win the whole thing.
Can you be a champion without a championship?
