Speaking to a work colleague who is from Bergamo (city where Atalanta is based). The owner may look to cash in some of the stars namely Kessie, Caldara, Conti to fund the outright purchase of their current stadium.
Good long term strategy, but hopefully they get to retain these type of players for the rest of the season.
Can Italian side Atalanta replicate the miraculous story of Leicester City?
If it means that SKY NZ fork out more money for the tv deal they pay the FFA each year, then I am all for it
The future of football in New Zealand
Milan have been the biggest suprise and all credit needs to be given to Montella this season. Not competing in Europe has helped their cause. But if either Suso or Bonaventura were to be out for a period of time, I dont think they have the depth of quality. Hopefully they can further strenghten over January and give it a good crack.
I like Roma but just don’t have the consistency. Will be strenghtened with the return of Mario Rui. Need to look to bring another wing back and back up striker to Dzeko.
Napoli similar to Roma re consistency. Havn’t recovered since Milik went down with his knee injury and Gabbiadini has failed to take his opportunity which had led them to revert to Mertens as that false 9. Talks of them bringing in Pavoletti from Genoa or Muriel from Samp in Jan.
I think will see a bit of a resurgence from Inter which should see them push for a European spot. I think they desperately need to strenthen the defence. In particular a new CB to partner Miranda and another wingback (hopefully look at Darmian from Man U)
Juventus surprisingly dismantled by inspired Genoa
Expecting around 18-20k for this based off David Davutovic blog today
FFA Cup Final: Melbourne City tune up but wary of Sydney FC juggernaut
the owner needs to offload the club to a consortium that has more ambition.
You can add Luca Toni, Amauri to that list of former great strikers
Sicilian club Palermo struggling in Italy's top flight
Unfortunately the other Seria A teams dont have the level of consistency and squad depth to compete with Juve.
Hoping the new Chinese owners at both Milan clubs spend big
Juventus surprisingly dismantled by inspired Genoa
Hearing Malik came off injured yesterday. If so, a big blow to the team with Perth comign up this week.
Much kudos to Fitzy has a really great work ethic and has really stepped up his game since joinign City in jan.
Melbourne City’s run of form timed perfectly for finals
Just spewing that the weather may put off some fans from attending tonight. Hoping for a healthy crowd to witness and absolute belter

Adelaide out to grow A-League record run
Bruno is on 20, Berisha record is 21 (including finals) if that makese sense.
Bruno has the record now for regular season
Fornaroli happy to stay in the A-League
Il reserve my judgemnt in relation to comparing the two, once the pressure cooker of finals takes place. Berisha has proven himself many a time.
Fornaroli happy to stay in the A-League
A real pleasure to watch this guy at work, not only his clinical finishing abilities but his ability to win his own ball further up the pitch.
Upgrade his contract next season and throw the kitchen sink at him….
Fornaroli happy to stay in the A-League
Good depth player and will bring some much needed mungrel to the team
City to sign A-League defender Muscat
Ogbonna has been a real rock in defence this season. Finally starting to realise the big wraps they had on this guy and is a real chance to go to the euros with Italy
West Ham affecting title race from the outside
the way he holds the ball up is very exciting for city supporters. just need to play the ball to him on the ground to him.
was great to pick up 3 points against our bogey side, but now need to back it up against newcastle this fri
Highlights: Fornaroli double downs Mariners
i would love an injury update from the club to see how far off gamiero, novillo, melling, williams are
with our current injury list i would be happy with one point from first two rounds
2015-16 A-League season preview: Melbourne City
I think this will prove to be a solid signing. Whilst Tandos performances had been solid last season I dont think he has the personality/presence to command the box.
In relation to city financial muscle, you do realise that they are constrained to a salary cap?
So far city group have delivered, 15m spent on training base, resigned mooy as marquee (reportedly on $850k a season for next 3 years. Unfortuantely koren has proven to be underwhelming but couldnt be moved on, as he is on a 2 year deal.
City sign former EPL stopper Sorensen
Hearing that adelaide is about to announce an exciting young australian player today or tomorrow

Hot prospects to watch at the U-21 Euro Championships
I would think Melb City would have learned from the experience. Guest stints do not work.
Andrea Pirlo headed to either New York or Sydney FC
Basically the NY offer is leading the pack at this stage, but the Aus bid has not been completely rejected by Pirlo at this present moment.
I think the deciding factor will not be the quality of the leagues but due to our tyranny of distance. Only a 6 hour flight from new york to milan as oppose to 22.
Andrea Pirlo headed to either New York or Sydney FC
Dont completely rule out melb city from the mix. Same parent company as new york city and hearing murmurings that koren may not see out his last year.
Also mentions that Lou Sticca is representing more than one a league team.
Andrea Pirlo headed to either New York or Sydney FC
Strong rumour that Sorensen will leave the club in the Jan transfer window which will free up a visa spot. Will most likely look to further strenghten the defensive line.
The next step for Melbourne City is becoming an A-League contender
