78 all out: A day that the Indian team should never forget
We have to bring in the larger squad to replace Pujara and Rahane..
78 all out: A day that the Indian team should never forget
Bang on Paul..Pujara and Rahane are well past their sell by dates..India has to bring in replacements right away..England is not that strong a team..so can carry two newcomers finding their feet
Never mind England, India’s batting lineup needs re-jigging
Ishant vs Ponting is a bit of Indian folklore thing..if you say 2008 series to Indian Sydney test issues and this spell will come out first
A magical Indian bowling unit conjures up a heist in London
Why would he complain to Virat about the bumpers if he was not afraid?
A magical Indian bowling unit conjures up a heist in London
Strike rate doesn’t matter provided the average is high..When Pujara used to score 100s, nobody had any issue..today he averages 25 and scores at 20..that is not acceptable
What is stopping this Indian team from winning?
That is true as well..Pujara and Rahane are even more an issue against such bowlers..
What is stopping this Indian team from winning?
There are enough players in the wings..Youngsters like Washington Sundar, Devdutt Padikkal et al are being blocked by these two..
What is stopping this Indian team from winning?
Do you really think Pujara and Rahane are the only ones who could have done it? We have seen enough cricket where teams have scored way more runs from the same position to not only save but also take the game away..Root did it just the other day..he did not crawl and get out leaving the team still tottering..India needs in form players at 3, 4 and 5 to make bigger scores that their bowling can win matches
What is stopping this Indian team from winning?
Was it only Pujara? Rishabh, Vihari and Ashwin all contributed, big time..Past is done..this is a high performance environment..India needs match winners in batting, that too when they dont have bowling all rounders
What is stopping this Indian team from winning?
I don’t mind Pujara of the 2012 to 2016..Look at his averages during those times, they are 10 above his 2018 to 2021 period…Same is for Ajinkya….The problem is that these days they are not scoring enough big runs…The middle order batsmen should be scoring centuries frequently in test matches…Over a 4 year period, India plays Aus, England and South Africa home and away…so, avg@SR gives enough data from across conditions to measure the success..
Is the Indian Test team as good as it is made out to be?
Exactly..batting of the noughties and bowling of these times..
Is the Indian Test team as good as it is made out to be?
Batting is the problem..not even that, resources in the wider pool is not being allowed in due to lack of imagination..i see that SKY has been called in to England as back up for Rahane, Devdutt has gone in as back up for opening..
Is the Indian Test team as good as it is made out to be?
That is the expectation which i have questioned in the article..Indian team is not as good as it is hyped after the Australia series win..The batting is ordinary..
Is the Indian Test team as good as it is made out to be?
As far Ishant, the facts are there in the table..he has the best bowling average since 2018..
Also, in the WTC, the lefty openers put on a big partnership..Ashwin got the openers on the second innings by getting to bowl early..it is a different idea but one that can work…even in the boxing day test in 2020, Ash bowled very early on a seaming pitch to get some wickets..so it is not new for him..
If you play a 5 test series against this Indian bowling, their averages suggest they will roll teams under 300 most times..all my quotes are based on the facts..
Is the Indian Test team as good as it is made out to be?
India in India ia unbeatable today..the question is away from India specifically in England and NZ where swing rules..
Is the Indian Test team as good as it is made out to be?
Definitely a valid thought process, Doc..India is brimming with bowling talent..so tough call..
My Indian XI for the World Test Championship finals
India are lucky to have Jadeja and Ashwin who are good batters as well..So, however the weather plays we are covered..
My Indian XI for the World Test Championship finals
English batting has gone down terribly..Like Nasser said on The Sky Sports, there seems to be some reinventing of batting techniques going on in the County cricket..strange backlifts, strange setups etc..Bowling will hold up as they still have quality seamers..Stokes and Butler will do their thing with their all round skills..
If England can't improve, the Ashes will be a one-sided contest
Ashes will be played with 5 tests..like i said, 3 of those can be counted for WTC
A fairer format for the World Test Championship
If India were 130 for 4 and followed the old template of consolidation, we would have ended up with 275 max..like I said, teams will score 350 plus or get bowled out for 240..two sides of the same coin..however, the approach is here to stay..
What does the India vs England white-ball series portend for ODI cricket?
No change will be made..they will back them 😂 😂
