All I can ask as a QLDer is that Tom Trbojevic be selected. He looks a shell of himself.
Round 11 Talking Points: Rising stars put their hands up for Origin debuts ... but don't expect many
Yeah watching the replay this morning it makes sense, but at the point of comment last night I was a few Canadian clubs deep and angry at the whole affair.
Also how could I have forgotten the Hughes/Flegler double sinbinning that should have been? He strikes Harry Grant and then Jahrome comes in like a thug. That should have been a double sit down.
Good luck for the season mate
ANALYSIS: Reynolds hurt, Carrigan in hip-drop strife and Kevvie rages - but did Broncos just enhance premiership case?
Agreed though I’m slightly biased.
Walsh shoulder charge? Glanced over and ignored.
Flagler taking out the marker for the last try and the try being scored where the marker would have been? Ignored.
The Olam falcon lack-of-ruling is a sin against the game. Footrace between Coates and Cobbo, entertainment at it’s best. Not even intervene. Ridiculous shameful game from officials.

I did love the shouts of ‘iceman’ and ‘clutch’ surrounding Cleary, because they weren’t accurate this week.
It was applicable against Parra a few weeks ago, but not on Saturday night, where he missed 2 other shots that were quite kickable.
While game winners are great to celebrate (and yes he has a good few of those), let’s calm down.
Hagan's Round 7 Talking Points: Attitude adjustments, home-ground rev-ups and Oscars for players acting hurt
Exactly my point. Revenge will be forever sweet.
Manly's matador defence puts them on edge as Seibold tells Turbo to get back up to speed for Storm showdown
If we put scores on Souths and the Chooks, I look forward to what we can do to the Plucked Geese. Only way for them to win is to ruffle Munster’s feathers and compress around the middle to restrict Harry G. Otherwise 40-0 may look generous.

Good bounce back from Storm in a few weeks, we are the form team in the comp and have more injured crew back on deck. Always fun against Manly.
NRL Round 7 preview talking points: Liabilities, big-time injuries and confusing fixturing
Storm fan here.
The only Manly player worth mentioning in heroes is Jakey Trbojevic, he’s pretty likeable.
Tom’s clearly a talented footy player but he irks me. He’ll play pretty quietly and then receive an inside pass in space with no one to beat and put the ball down to score. Then the accolades will flow and people will describe him as the best in the game. When he plays like he did in his peak, he’s fantastic. But maybe the undeserved plaudits (calling him the next Immortal after making a support run to a player already broken through the line) aren’t his fault.

I was about to take severe offence about your outrageous claims that I would praise the Panthers.

I think Jason Ryles is closer.
NRL 2023 random predictions: The cynic’s guide to unravelling the rich tapestry of rugby league
Agree with pretty much everything Joe. Warbrick deserves a shot over Ieremia and Young. I don’t think Loiero will start (and if he does, not permanently) but he’s still got a bit to learn and should warm in fine.
NRL Trials: Dogs' defence dodgy, Sharks slick, Rapana faces ban, Tigers find fangs in attack, Storm scratchy
When I went to the Indigenous All Stars game a few years back at Robina, it made me, a teenage white guy, almost tear up at seeing swathes of Indigenous flags and jerseys, worn and waved by scores of young/old Indigenous fans- a game that celebrated their culture and made them feel welcomed.
Does EVERY nationality need their own specific round? Heck naw. I’m half gun-tootin’, flag-humpin’ Yankee and I don’t want a round dedicated to that half of me.
But to certain massive portions of the NRL supporter base-and society at large- a game where both teams wear supportive colours and get behind a positive cause for them is really only a good thing.
If anyone sees it as ‘being forced to accept something’ or ‘I don’t agree with this, it shouldn’t be pandered to’, that’s unfortunate. It’s how the Rounds would be marketed and displayed that would interest me. Corporations aren’t known for doing progressive things for the better.
For some, the open welcoming of previously excluded groups is a scary thing, but I can’t wait to see the game embrace them.
Can NRL please stop coming up with endless names for rounds and 'respect' us fans by focusing on footy?
Australia scored very soon after the Marshall try, and were still in the game. The 8pt try put NZ out of reach with 10 minutes left. Big difference.
25 in 25: Best Kangaroos player of NRL era - Lockyer, Slater, Smith, Joey, Inglis?
Love the list, quick note.
Joel Monaghan’s conceding of a penalty try lost the game for the Kangaroos in the 2008 WC Final, not the Slater blunder.

Can’t agree with Murray 2nd. He’s the best 13 in the comp. Yeo close second.
Yeo, Taumalolo, Murray, Tino, Trbojevic: Who are the NRL's best 10 locks for season 2023?
Not to mention Slater throwing what was very nearly an intercept on the first kick return of the game.
Such a close, well fought game overall.
25 in 25: Ranking all the grand finals of the NRL era - cliffhangers, controversy and classics
2012 is an under rated final. Early Storm dominance, then the Dogs score, then a melee, then Cronk brilliance, then the scales tip back and forth. The tension all game was fantastic. Low scoring but very very tense and high quality.

I recently saw a package of Melbourne vs Parramatta in 2010 at the old Parramatta stadium. Tension high, not many brawls until Jarryd Hayne’s arm swings into Billy Slater’s face. Not quite punches exchanged but the whole next few minutes has two sin bins, two pile-ins and a partridge in a pear tree. A good old fashioned encounter.
25 in 25: The best fights of the NRL era, featuring Gallen, Benji, Farah and one night in Brookvale
Really happy to have Welch back, the forward pack has a huge job on its hands.
Our main problem last year, besides injury horror, was attitude and I feel he’s a massive leader on the pitch so he should help. If Paps stays fit this year he is a strong candidate to pull serious Dally M points and score 300 points. He’s started very very strong the last few seasons. Keen to see a Storm side that’s got a fair few unknown quantities.
If we hit good form, we are title favorites.
Round 1 Predicted Teams - Storm: Olam hit for six, Papenhuyzen doubtful as injuries strike out wide
I believe a lot of club player of the year awards are named after club legends, so the idea is right.
But wouldn’t it make sense to name the award after the most prolific recipient? Off my memory, I think Cooper cronk won the halfback award 5 times, which is more than any other.
NRL should follow NBA’s path in renaming player awards after all-time greats
Definitely Lockyer top spot. Surely he gets an Immortal nod?
Can’t argue with Munny top 3. Benji love also appreciated.
25 in 25: Best five-eighths of NRL era - Daley, Lockyer, Fittler, Thurston, Benji, Munster, Foran, Keary, Wighton?
Not sure why but I’m tipping Dragons. I’m just seeing the headlines and can’t shake the feeling.
Also Dolphins should be a match for Storm, as a Melbourne fan I’m excited.
