Because it’s a dumb idea.

NRL Round 5 talking points: Streakers, streaks and strikes

Tbf if you don’t love the sound of your own voice you probably shouldn’t get a job commentating.

I thoroughly believe that fox does that on purpose. Idk about 9, but watching the Fifita try was a prime example. Fox showed replay after replay where you couldn’t tell for the life of you whether his hand was on, over, inside or had disappeared in regards to the dead ball line. Try gets confirmed and presto, suddenly there’s three different angles all showing him well in play.

NRL Round 5 talking points: Streakers, streaks and strikes

Had about 6 rep standard players to choose from and chose *literally checks notes* Chris Smith?

'Ugly, stupid, as cheap as it gets': Barnett referred straight to judiciary after send off, Panthers roll Knights

Nah.

Well he may have had some colourful words with Peachey just last year, but I agree on the physical side of things he looked like he’d found the right spot between aggro and thuggish. That elbow though. By golly. I don’t know what has to be going through some blokes head to lead to a decision like that. Senseless. Could’ve excused the ref for sending off a second player just for knowing him.

Knights down but not out after Penrith loss

Pongas contract seems to be a yearly fixing for the debate table. These mid contract get out and renegotiation options are just clubs daring themselves to go swimming in a pool full of lemon juice and razor blades.

Not that regular contracts are much better. Payne Haas is in the 3rd or 4th year of a 6 year deal, been topped up to one of the highest paid forwards in the game, and has still had the rumour mill swirling for over a year.

If Kalyn Ponga waits to make his Dolphins decision, the Knights will be in big trouble

Hard to go past Robinson imo. I’m not a big fan of his but he’s done a great job while losing close to a full starting side over the course of a season. Just to be in the finals let alone equal 4th is pretty amazing.

NRL Round 25 talking points: Resting to be tested and Cecchin gets late respect

Voss is a bit sensationalist and does annoy me sometimes with the carry on, but I genuinely enjoy him far more than anyone else currently. It’s too bad that he is so often joined by my least favourite Blocker who is just the worst. I swear he isn’t even watching the game sometimes.

Signing an injured teenager for $3.64 million: Why the Broncos deserve to gain from Payne

The amount Lodge was getting gets higher every time someone mentions it. I swear it was 675k a couple months ago.

It’s not like he just ran 90 metres down field. He’s on his own 10 and had just got the ball back while the team were defending their line.

Melbourne quick to punish the Titans for a rookie error

I don’t mind the idea but it was always going to be a tough ask for teams to risk it. Milford actually hit one earlyish in the season but unfortunately wasn’t rewarded for it. You’d have to think if he had and it led to something we might’ve seen a couple more attempts. As it stands off the top of my head Cleary was the only other one I saw take a crack at it.

Two-point field goal included in new NRL rules

I have a feeling fans and Broadcasters could’ve come up with a better idea than a 2 point field goal.

Maybe run a 40 metre chain in line from the kick along the touch line while we’re at it.

Two-point field goal included in new NRL rules

You don’t think there’ll be a single field goal from 40+ metres out all year? There’s always a couple, and that’s before they were worth 2 points.

Two-point field goal included in new NRL rules

Everyone knows this is the Kenny Edwards rule.

I think Allan plays the modern roll of fullback better, but Mitchell is the better player overall. Bennett’s a fan of Mitchell at 1 so I don’t expect anything to change.

'Way too early' top eight for the 2021 NRL season

Less to do with the cap and more to do with there not being enough space in the team. Ivan seems to prefer May in the utility roll and it’d be tough for him to force his way into a starting spot.

Burton to join Barrett's Bulldogs from 2022

“NSW lost quite a few origin games on goal kicks” only have to go back to game 1 with Nathan Cleary. He kicks either one of those sideline conversions and a penalty at the end would’ve tied it up, he kicks both and it’s already tied up. Of course it’s balanced out somewhat by DCE missing a penalty from almost in front.

Sorry universe, but Cooper Cronk is superior to Johnathan Thurston

The real story though is just how smitten is Munster over Bennett? Looked like Cupid emptied the whole quiver into him, then hit him with the bow for good measure.

Grant's debut for the ages powers Maroons to memorable State of Origin series win

Well hang on. He actually scored a try.

I actually think he may stay on for next year. It’s up in the air atm. I’d have to think it’s his if he wants it. Would take a brave man to say no to him at this point.

Grant's debut for the ages powers Maroons to memorable State of Origin series win

Looked absolutely sickening the way he laid motionless on the ground. Awful result for him after a very good series.

Everyone knows it’s how a coach leaves the team that matters. So if QLD get touched up next year without him he’ll be exposed for the fraud he is. 😛

He’s the hot take man. It’s what he’s paid for.
