The performances have been superb at time this year and LIverpool have just lacked the luck and cutting edge that is needed to be up the top. However, Manchester City wasn’t built in one year either. It takes time, especially after how woeful they were under Hodgson and some of the signings he made. If a few goals went in early this season at Anfield, it would have been a totally different story and they definitely deserved more than just a few goals with their performances. Watch Liverpool blossom next year and push right up the EPL table.

Dalglish satisfied with Liverpool mediocrity?

I agree with this. His pace and directness with the ball is something that Chelsea have lacked in recent times. His goal against Liverpool on the weekend was created by his pace and power in his burst towards goal.

Fresh-faced Ramires Chelsea's new hero

It was a shame that Liverpool didn’t start with Carroll up front with Suarez. Luis was clearly isolated up front and the compensating 5 man midfield that included the uninfluential Jay Spearing and Jordan Henderson didn’t help Liverpool’s cause.

Chelsea beat Liverpool in FA Cup final

Football doesn’t need video referral to adjudicate all “hand-ball rulings, off-sides and, more importantly, penalty rulings” .. The only sort of technical introduction needed in football is the introduction of goal line technology. These are the decision that directly affect the outcome of a match. I agree that the penalty in the A-League Grand Final was incorrectly called, but the angle the referee got of the incident was why such a decision was given. But who is to say that a video referee with all the multiple views will give the right decision – after all we would be relying on his subjective view of the incident.
