Wow you are tiresome. Who said it wasn’t Cane’s fault? Most of NZ were on his case because he cost us the RWC. There was a lot of criticism of the goal kickers too for missing the kicks.
.
It still doesn’t negate the fact that by him being red carded, NZ were severely disadvantaged and that had a big bearing on the final result. Any objective person would say that, but you choose to ignore that and only talk about SA’s handicap.
.
Your player numbers are wrong, plain and simple. I can’t find the WR link but here’s the wiki link which confirms what I am saying. The WR page also reported similar numbers. Ireland and NZ have very similar numbers as shown.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_rugby_union_playing_countries
.
Contrary to popular opinion, rugby in NZ in terms of participation comes a distant second to football. Even basketball may have overtaken rugby now. NZ has a couple of million less people than Ireland as Northern Ireland should also be included in the comparison.

'A bit like the All Blacks some years ago': Ireland's Six Nations statement, rival coach's ultimate compliment

No you are just so biased and selective with what you write and you expect people to have a civilised conversation with you. The fact that you only highlighted Bongi’s injury and not Cane’s red card tells me everything that I need to know.

In what world are you living in to think Ireland had less registered players than Fiji, Argentina or the USA? The last time I checked their player numbers are comparable to NZ’s. NZ’s big disadvantage is similar to Australia’s, in that a lot of our talented schoolboy players are poached by NRL clubs. In every schoolboy tournament in Auckland you will find a number of NRL scouts on the sidelines.

They are close to Ireland’s 3 best backs and I would say JGP is definitely your most important backline player. Aki is the best midfield back in the world atm.
.
Those 3 kiwis would no doubt have improved in NZ as well. That’s the arrogance I am talking about. You think that only the Irish system could have made them better when a country with a track record of excellence for over a 100 years couldn’t? Aki and Lowe were on the ABs radar but had some of the greatest players of all time ahead of them when Ireland came with their checkbooks. JGP matured later but there’s no reason to think he wouldn’t have done the same in NZ. Heard of Frank Bunce? He only represented the ABs in his early 30s, some players become better with age.
.
U20s results are irrelevant and simply display how much exposure and development is placed at that age. Ireland are case in point, a large number of players from the Irish senior team circa 2017-2023 came from badly performing Irish u20s teams yet the seniors during that period were consistently in the top few teams in the world. NZ’s age grade players aren’t exposed to senior professional rugby anywhere near the same extent as their NH counterparts, especially the French. We also don’t have an u20s 6 Nations type tournament to help prepare us for the u20s WC. Our players typically develop a little bit later.

I think it will be close but I hope I am wrong. I hope SA absolutely smashes them. Can’t stand their arrogant team and fans.

'A bit like the All Blacks some years ago': Ireland's Six Nations statement, rival coach's ultimate compliment

Nobody is jealous of Ireland lol, trust me. How can we be possibly jealous of a team whose 3 best backs are kiwis.
.
The irony of an Irish fan accusing others of being arrogant lol. There’s a reason why Ireland are now the most despised team in the world, it’s mainly because of the arrogance displayed by their fans, and to a lesser extent the team as well. You Johnny come latelys have been good for 5 minutes but you wouldn’t know it the way you lot carry on.

'A bit like the All Blacks some years ago': Ireland's Six Nations statement, rival coach's ultimate compliment

Sam Cane and poor goalkicking. Conveniently ignored the fact that the ABs played most of the final with 14 to try and win the argument. You are embarrassing yourself NH fan and your hatred of NZ rugby is coming across very clearly.

'A bit like the All Blacks some years ago': Ireland's Six Nations statement, rival coach's ultimate compliment

Lol the arrogance of the Irish fans. This idea that Ireland would have won that game if they scored from the maul is so silly, and you have the nerve to accuse others of not bringing intelligence to the conversation. At best Ireland would have been ahead by 3 points with 8 minutes left on the clock. It’s not an insurmountable lead and hardly a guaranteed win. Luckily for Ireland NZ were down to 14, otherwise it wouldn’t even have been close.

'A bit like the All Blacks some years ago': Ireland's Six Nations statement, rival coach's ultimate compliment

They couldn’t put away a relatively average ABs team by ABs standards, a team that were playing with 14 men for 20 minutes. It’s the 14 men bit that apologists for this Irish team conveniently forget. Ireland had every advantage and couldn’t get the job done.

'A bit like the All Blacks some years ago': Ireland's Six Nations statement, rival coach's ultimate compliment

You mean the same Irish team that couldn’t beat a team that was down to 14 men for 20 minutes? Yeah, they had the potential to be great but how can anyone label them with the greatness tag when they couldn’t deliver when it mattered the most?

'A bit like the All Blacks some years ago': Ireland's Six Nations statement, rival coach's ultimate compliment

Interesting that he says like the ABs from some years ago when they lost to the ABs by 90 points just a few months ago.

Bold prediction: If Australia makes it through to the semis they will win it.

Could we be witnessing the beginning of the end of Aaron Smith? Haven’t seen him play this poorly ever before. He’s been average all year too.

All Blacks team: Weber at halfback, ALB returns, Mo'unga on bench as NZ chase 'Grand Slam'

Aumua is the worst lineout thrower of the four, with Coles easily being the best. Not sure what makes you think that’s a strength of Aumua’s. I have been very impressed with Samisoni’s throwing in black so far, didn’t rate that aspect of his game at Super Rugby.

That would have been before Tuesday. The bubble was only imposed on Tuesday evening.

Six Pumas, including Matera, locked out of Queensland after Byron visit, Wallabies Test will go ahead

Here are the scores in the RC so far involving the Pumas.

SA 32 Arg 12
SA 29 Arg 10
NZ 39 Arg 0
NZ 36 Arg 13
AU 27 Arg 8

Those scores paint a different picture, Nick. One that is very embarrassing for you.

Will there be two sets of slippers under the table at number 10?

Of course Argentina are out of sorts. Have you not watched their games against SA and NZ? That’s an embarrassing comment from you, Nick. I expected a bit more objectivity.

They beat SA at home, something that they have consistently done over the last 20 years.

ABs were terrible and played well below their potential, yet won the game which is all that matters, and with a bit more polish could have scored two more tries and you wouldn’t be saying that they were outplayed tactically. SA were also lucky that the ABs turned down 3 shots at goal. Best to just accept that.

Will there be two sets of slippers under the table at number 10?

I am saying I don’t know and am not prepared to make that judgement now, you are claiming that it definitely will be when all you have to judge the Wallabies on is a match against an out of sorts Argentina and two games at home against the Boks.

It’s easy to play well at home, let’s see if they can do as well on the road.

I only mentioned 2 AB players but in reality they were missing 6-7 starters, many more than the Boks were missing.

Will there be two sets of slippers under the table at number 10?

TJ is rubbish, I agree. He should not be there . The halfback’s primary role is to clear the ball quickly unless you play for the Boks of course, and TJ has arguably the worst pass in world rugby.

Will there be two sets of slippers under the table at number 10?

In your opinion, Nick. I really can’t judge them just yet based on playing two teams who do not pose the same threats that the ABs do. Kerevi didn’t look like a world beater in Perth as he has over the last two weeks for example. I would rather wait till at least the EOYT before forming my opinion.

The Springboks always lift their game when playing NZ so the result didn’t come as a surprise. The absence of Smith and Mounga also didn’t help matters.

I expect a much better showing from the ABs this weekend, with better performances at the breakdown, lineouts and less handling errors. I think it will be a comfortable win to them.

Will there be two sets of slippers under the table at number 10?

Big words after a 30 point loss just a few weeks ago. I guess it’s easy to talk it up when you don’t have to play them again this year.

The real form line is how everyone goes against the Boks? You are delusional mate. The real form line for the Wallabies is how they go against England and NZ, as they have struggled against these two teams over the last few years. NZ has lost to the Boks once in the last ten test matches so they are doing fine.

The Wallabies may very well be improving but so far they have only looked good at home, and in Queensland too which is traditionally where they are at their strongest. I will hold off on my judgement on the Wallabies until they have faced England in a couple of months and the ABs next year.

I hope they do improve. We need a more competitive Bledisloe series.
