you’ve got the wrong Dananjaya mate, you’re thinking of Akila (the offspinner). Dhananjaya de Silva on the other hand is a batting allrounder.

The ODI world XI

Its fair to say its been worth it in the end though. PSV seem like just the right club for Trent to truly kick on now and maybe push even higher.

Socceroo Trent Sainsbury makes dream European move

Agreed R King, there is no guarantee of success, but isn’t any big-money move the same?

With Lukaku and all the other reinforcements that United have bought and are looking to buy, I would argue that their target this season would be a title challenge; anything less would seem like setting the bar too low.

I would argue that at 75-100 million, both the fan and the United hierarchy would have differing opinions on what “good value” would entail, but anything outside the Top 4 and a round of 16 Champions League place, and expect question to be asked of Mourinho.

Manchester United to sign Lukaku in British record transfer

West Ham have really made some killer signings in the form of free transfers……………. Nordtveit and Feghouli look like astute signings that will take the Hammers to the next level without a jaw-dropping price-tag. Ashley Fletcher, too, looks very promising and possibly a future England striker……..

EPL free signings may make the biggest splash

I agree Craig- while I still expect Australia to win, the Sri Lankans are no walkover and have some players that on their day, could influence the outcome of the match. It is a good test for both sides and a chance to introduce some new faces into their respective teams.

Sri Lanka vs Australia 1st Test preview: how the teams will line up

Chameera is likely to return from injury before the end of the Test series, and seeing as their seam options are threadbare, Sri Lanka will most likely bring him immediately back into the squad- this is possible because of the test-by-test squad selection that the selectors have opted to go for.

That is quite true……….. the chairmen do tend to count their proverbial chickens before they hatch, but they are very shrewd negotiators regardless of their shambolic use of social media, and I have confidence in their ability to make the right choices for the club.

Yedder could be the perfect puzzle piece for West Ham

Top Half is definitely the bare minimum- in fact, the club have indicated that they (quite ambitiously) are looking towards the top 4, and with a strong squad already in place, nothing less than the top half would suffice. However with the expected resurgence of Chelsea and Liverpool, I would say that a top 7 finish is the most likely outcome.

While Ben Yedder’s transfer looks only speculative at this point, Calleri has reportedly agreed a loan move and could be on his way. I agree with your comments on a top striker, with so many rejections it looks unlikely that one will join.

At this point, Berahino (also with 1 year left on his contract) could be a straight swap for Sakho but there remains the question of his attitude, which for me suggests that Bilic will not go in for him.

Finally, Valencia plus cash could secure Ayew, who could be a great deal for West Ham.
