With A-League finals on the horizon, Central Coast must travel half a world away to begin it's dream of AFC Cup final spot

The home team was dominant..CCM struggled to adapt to the poor pitch and were lucky to get a draw tho since they scored first perhaps shouldve won!
Steels at LB was a huge weakness – Doka is a fb technically isnt he? he seems to play a midfield role atm..Id shift him to fb with Roux. Torres was poor with his distribution and after a good start they were overrun in midfield.
Theyre going to need a better performance at home!

in news from reddit apparently floods? have delayed CCMs return flights – IF true I feel the weekend game sb postponed in all fairness..much as I want AU to claim a pt or two! 😛

“Kusini Yengi is playing in the Championship next season!”

Forget those bringing down the game, what if we embraced the A-League and Australian football cups are actually half-full?

The Jordan game last night may have highlighted a related issue. For all Australia’s contrl they couldve lost and lacked a cutting edge. Mostr of LigA strikers seem to be imported foreigners.

I thought Garang mightve been the answer but he looked very ordinary when he came on. And JCP was great at CB but seemed a strange choice over JGR. Ah well mayeb the Joeys will be better tonight!

Might have to go to next weeks game!

The Roar's A-League Men tips and predictions: Round 24 - Sydney Derby takes centre stage and urgency for finals hopefuls

What no Roar blog for last nights game??? .. Anyhow Sydney got up in a deserved result but it was close!
A tight first half with chances for both sides tho WSW had the easier ones. Gomes provides nuisance value but continues to make goal scoring look difficult. Sydney controlled both halfs the first half was a tight affair but the game had a great finish !! 😊 😁 😛
ps saw all the Sydney ladies at the game. WU got beat in an upset so now its Vic or CCM they play
pps 3pm game on 10 Bold

A-League clubs air grievances after Nestory Irankunda's shock snubbing of Olyroos duty

First I think AU with Irankunda has a great chance on current form of making the six. Without him not so much.
Second to me an indirect query is still a call up.
Third I think under the rules he should be made to stand down unless unavailable for mental health reasons. I think he needs to state his reasons clearly.
Fourth however if allowed Id compromise and stand him down after this weekend.
What really annoys me is those (seems to be reddits opinion) who think the FA rightly approaching him is an error on their part. He was excused earlier because Vidmar and co thought he wasnt ready. Since then he’s started and played 2 outstanding games. He looks ready and I think playing in the Olyroos would actually be good for him.

A-League clubs air grievances after Nestory Irankunda's shock snubbing of Olyroos duty

its ostensibly for policing [they often leave the bay to go for a smoke and supposedly this is so the correct people are in the bay] but the reddit view is its failed before and will cause extra unneccesary hassles [eg people going into the bay will be held up on entry getting wristbands] – they also say Sydney Fc is against this as well.

Irankunda sensationally turns down Olyroos spot in baffling update - and Vidmar left in lurch on eve of qualifying

In good news they actually did the right thing re Davila’s throat grabs and gave him 2 weeks suspension.

Sepp Blatter wanted it fixed back in 2014 “”The ball is in the referees’ court,” he added. “The instructions are now clear on this matter: if a player is lying on the floor, the opposing team are not required to put the ball into touch.”
Blatter said players should be made to wait before returning to the pitch if the referee believed they had feigned injury.
“The referee should only intervene if he believes a serious injury has occurred. When a ‘stricken’ player seeks to return to the field of play immediately after being taken off, the referee can make the player wait until the numerical disadvantage has had an effect on the game.”

Argentina only recently could be described as strong and Italy is up for debate. Not sure about Italy but Argentina is no ‘dirtier’ than anyone else in rugby. Different codes attract different personalities in different countries and ‘cheating’ is much more frowned upon in rugby. Similar could be said in the UK.

“When a player simulates a dive, he will do the opposite of the above mechanics to some degree. He pitches forward, but he throws his head up and back, he arches his upper back away from the ground, his arms fly up – usually above shoulder height – and backward. He deliberately engineers a controlled fall by curving his body away from the ground to maximize the impact in the eyes of the referee. A further significant feature in all cases of tripping versus diving is that a trip is abrupt and sudden, whereas a dive is relatively slow and naturally graceful.”
