Yeah I agree – we need more bowling firepower and Lab can help out there. Bangers out – Lab in. On MM could not agree more with you.
The changes both sides must consider ahead of the second Ashes Test
I do not think it is odd. The point is that you used a statistic to support your argument when it is very likely to be unreliable due to the small sample size. Of course anyone can have an opinion about a cricketer even after just 1 innings but using a stat after 1 innings to support the argument is unwise. Stats like averages become more reliable as a measure of ability as the number of innings increases – say above 40. Are you with me?
BTW Head just scored a ton in the tour game!

Steve Smith’s Bradmanesque performance won the game for us. That’s all that has changed for mine. A sample of 1 ain’t enough to make a useful prediction.
How Australia rediscovered their golden era mojo
The comment referred to MM’s bro. His first name is Shaun.
In any case: You are using Head’s average based on 14 innings to argue your point? That sample size is not large enough for the average to be a reliable estimate of his ability. Wait until Head has played say 40 innings then his average will be a better indicator of his ability

We need more firepower. Drop Bangers, open with Khawaja, bring in Starc. BTW MM failed with the bat in the tour game. Some things never change
Australia needs to take the same XI to Lord's
Only silly people hold Marsh in great stead. Labuschagne is a much better bat than Marsh

Looks like a green wicket will be prepared, given only one spinner has been picked
England name 14-man squad for Ashes
Rule 1: M Marsh is not a test top 6 batter and he never has been. Rule 2: See rule 1.

“He has a good record on those flatter English pitches as a bowler”. Please advise us where you got this info from?

Drop MM in!!! A guy who averages 31 in 1st class cricket batting in the top 6! How can they justify that?

Yeah agree with you – Head slasher out and Khawaja in at 5 so he can use his stroke play when the heat is off

Broad 160, Akram 250 the list goes on. MM has made precisely 2 tons and 3 x 50s in 53 test innings. Not batter material for mine

Head is a slasher outside off – much like S Marsh.

No way mate – Marsh is a permanent lock

Yeah MM’s 1st class batting average is 31. Neser’s is 27. Not much diff there and Neser is a much better bowler yet MM is classed as an “all rounder”. I wonder why?

Hohns looked uncomfortable, rather nervous. Methinks he did not agree with all the selections. Are you with me fellas?

Good team. One change for mine: out Head in Harris. The reason? Harris has a better technique against the moving ball. On MM: he should not be in the squad cos he has proven over a long period that he ain’t good enough at test level

Marsh has been treated favorably, and not for the first time. At least the selectors are consistent

We are more likely to beat a wounded England than a full strength England. We just played a wounded England (Anderson) and flogged them
