This might not be a popular opinion but have a think about it for a minute….
Maybe it’s just our turn to be an average cricket side. We can’t be the best forever and quite frankly cricket would be boring if we were the best team the whole time. Watching Australian Cricket claw it’s way back from here and upset some sides along the way and seeing some superstars come through is going to be much more enjoyable than if we disposed of teams easily every test series and never were challenged.
As a Richmond supporter, watching us have some success now is all the more enjoyable having supported them through the toughest times. Australian Cricket will be exactly the same when we are the best test side in the world in 5 years time with Steve Smith on the verge of retiring as the best since Bradman with Pat Cummins taking over as skipper with Pucovski his deputy.
