Purrrrfect!

Bellamy and Reynolds back Broncos pokie players

If this was Melbourne players instead of broncos we could just call it a “storm in a teacup” and move on.

JWH tends to play with more aggression than control and its caught up with him in time for a big game. Roosters fans will be sore because he’s a big loss to their team, but if this was only round three everyone would cop sweet with no argument. How is this any different to South’s losing Sam Burgess for hair pulling? I actually applauded the judiciary for standing firm with the punishment.

Jared Waerea-Hargreaves banned for Sydney Roosters' preliminary final

Not a good look for a game that is propped up on gambling and Pokies.

Reports: Broncos players were at the pub prior to historic Eels loss

I agree Mr R Rooster, how about we send the chooks to Perth so they can enjoy that one team town set up?

Thanks now I had to find out where touch line originates from. Found this
The shape of the rugby field was designed by accident, for when the game moved from the streets and school quadrangles to the playing field, the only markings were a line through the middle indicating the territory of each side and another which indicated the goal. When the game started to attract spectators they would encroach onto the playing area so a line was drawn to keep them back. The ball did not become dead until it was grounded over this line. The first player to get the ball over the spectators line to touch it down was entitled to restart the game by putting the ball in. That is how the term the ‘touch line’ came into being

NRLW has learnt from AFLW's disrespect

Not wanting to join in on the code measuring contest but just wanted to say thanks as I always wondered why it was called a try and now I know. Cheers Mr Munro

Yeah Darius saying he wants to stay on is almost like he is doing it in spite of everyone, including himself.

Unb-Eel-ievable! Parramatta blow away Broncos 58-0

Yeah that’s what I thought I remembered. Good on bunnies for getting the better end of a deal.

Six talking points from Parramatta Eels vs Brisbane Broncos NRL elimination final

I’ve got a fairly short memory and wasn’t paying full attention when it happened, but how did South’s fans feel with the coach switch when it first happened? Was it a welcome change or did the bunnies feel like they got dudded? I seem to remember everyone riding so high on seibold. I know now looking at the results, bunnies have faired better.

everyone has such high standards for the broncos because since their introduction into the league they were able to pick from the best QLD had to offer. Now there is a bit more competition for the cream of the q-cup they find themselves having to work as hard as every other club. Broncos fans and the Brisbane press are going to have to adjust to that feeling of occasional disappointment. Although seibold had a rough year, they still made finals with a talented but very young and inexperienced squad. After one year with a young team and a bit of Bennet baggage to deal with, I’m not going to write him off just yet. He needs another season to prove himself one way or the other.

I think that try off the kick that boyd turned his back on embodied the whole broncos performance. They just didn’t want to be out there. It would have been a really hard game for a bronco fan to watch. Eels will be delighted, they looked great in what was pretty much a downhill run. When they are against quality opposition, having to push it uphill, I don’t think they have the resolve to compete. Storm should comfortably account for them next week.

That was the joke. But seriously, what is more mediocre than being a pedant on a website forum like this.

He truly is a great man then.

The Gould review: Dragons fans set aside decade for five-year plan

It’s weird I have an irrational disdain for the eels. I used to not mind them when they had Hindy and Luke Burt but these days I find it really hard to like them.

The Roar’s NRL expert tips and predictions: Qualifying and elimination finals

Interesting read fergo. I always thought that the Nrl could give out an award/prize to incentivize clubs to build their crowd figures/ membership numbers by giving a trophy and cash payment or extra room on the salary cap for the team that had the largest percentage of growth of members and of crowds both home and away. That way everyone is able to keep track of it so when rationalisation talks happen, the decision is a bit more clear. Also by getting the clubs to really focus on bring the fans in, rather than just waiting for TV dollars would enhance positive fan engagement.

By 1998's standards, which NRL teams should face the axe today?

By paying for Gould to come in to review everything but McGregor. Unless Gus is doing it for free, as a kindness or something? I don’t think so for some reason. I would think getting someone like Gus to come in is not a cheap endeavour.

It’s time for the Knights and their supporters to move on

C’mon bunnies, raiders, sharkies and broncs! Shake up this finals series and make it interesting

Marys contract should be taught as a case study at business schools either as an example of really good contract negotiations skills for Mary, or as an example of how not to do it from the clubs side, the latter I feel is more accurate. I can’t believe how much money they have given him without any safeguards for performance written in to the contract.

The Dragons won't fix their woes until they have a new coach

Corey Norman playing the final ten minutes on the Gold Coast in a pair of skinny jeans and a disco whistle”
But seriously, they can’t afford to sack Mary so they call for Gus to do a review? It’ll be interesting to see how much it costs the club when this review is done and Mary is shown the door. Surely if the board was competent they would have cut their loses and sacked him themselves, but instead they have just prolonged the pain and financial burden on the club by dragging out what is the obvious outcome.

Mate I’m a dragons supporter, try another one.

The neutral dilemma for finals: Which NRL team to support

Canberra is who I pinned myself to as soon as my team was officially done with 2019. Having said that, any team other than chooks or storm will get my support. If it comes down to chooks v storm, I probably lean towards the storm.

Who cares? Pointing out grammatical errors on a rugby league forum is no great achievement.

Even though horses aren’t human as you say and don’t run amok on mad Monday, I’m pretty sure there were more than enough “colourful racing identities” for him to contend with in his previous post which would have been just as challenging if not more.
