I like this article. Actually, England’s batting order has been a real concern.
I don’t understand why England play Buttler as a keeper when Bairstow in the XI. Bairstow is a better keeper then Buttler.
Also mention, England gave Buttler so many chances because of his explosive batting at the end of the innings. I am not sure if that worked though he did well in some occasions. Nothing against him but Ben foakes deserves a real run in the side.
Curran’s white ball batting has been developed significantly. But he did not play sufficient FC matches before this series. He is struggling probably because of lack of match time.

England’s batting woes go well beyond 1-2-3

Well, a good analysis. Here are some things from my perspective :
Assuming fit, I think we don’t have to think about for Finch’s form too much. Firstly, he is really a class act and an international gun. Secondly, a partner playes a big role to other patner. They both have played a lot with cricket with one another and has a real connection and communication between them. I think when he get Warner by his side, he feels more comfortable and can play his natural game. Same doesn’t happen with others partners, may be. Thirdly, if he will fail extreamly, that I can never wish, we have his backups.
Really excited about Inglish though I am not sure if he will be in the starting XI.
Just one selectors could do is to keeping Andrew Tye as reserves. Nothing against Ellis or sams but I thing Tye didn’t get justice. He was with the team since England tour last year till the end and got dropped from the WC squad. Can you imagine the frustration? He got a few chances and did well enough to keep his place at least as reserves. Again he is a wicket taker and his slower, knuckle balls, cutters would be helpful in pitches like UAE specially in death overs. I am a big fan of George Bailey but I can’t say this is a right decision.

'Much needed reinforcements': The squad carrying Australia's World Cup hopes

I hope too. And looking forward for ur next article.

Who will wear the baggy green with so many Test stars on T20 World Cup duty?

Bascically, I am not a fan of this kind of scheduling. Australia may have some backups but a growing test team like Afganistan don’t have. This match is nothing but a benifit for Australia as they probably want to see how their backups perform ahead of Ashes. But for Afghanistan it’s tough.

Who will wear the baggy green with so many Test stars on T20 World Cup duty?

Jeff, right, not too many days ago, against Bangladesh was his last match. Mujib may have his chance though.

Thanks a lot paul. It’s nice to have some feedback from an expert someone like u. I hope I will to write here more often.

Who will wear the baggy green with so many Test stars on T20 World Cup duty?

Henriques is already 34. He showed some form in FC cricket. But I am not sure if selectors would give him another chance though I think age should not be a factor.

Who will wear the baggy green with so many Test stars on T20 World Cup duty?

McDonald, Thanks man.
Swepson is with the WC t20 squad. So, It will be hard for him to get in the test squad like other key players.

Who will wear the baggy green with so many Test stars on T20 World Cup duty?

Paul, yes nic maddinson is a fine player and is very unfortunate not to get his test recall yet. But i think it we should keep carey thinking abiut his future in Australia Cricket. If head doesn’t do well, maddinson is a point to remember.

Who will wear the baggy green with so many Test stars on T20 World Cup duty?

Jeff, yes. It will be tight for afganistan. But I don’t think shahidi will get his place in t20 squad so no tight stuff for him, nabi has retired already from test cricket and i am not sure if they will pick mujib for Aus test.

Who will wear the baggy green with so many Test stars on T20 World Cup duty?

Cruyff turn, agree. I also think pucokvski should open. With marnus and smith 3 and 4 are locked. So, no chance for him to bat at those possition.

Thanks a lot paul. I hope to write more here. It’s nice to have some feedback from an expert like you.

Who will wear the baggy green with so many Test stars on T20 World Cup duty?

Ben, good article. But I am not sure why pople sending Maxwell at 5 in t20 cricket. He must bat at no 4, no way. Yes, I admit Marsh has done well enough at the top order. But overall his quality is not up to maxi’s level. So, how can you unsettle your ‘most settled no 4 batsman’ for another one who just has shown some good form recently.

How Australia should line up for the 2021 T20 World Cup

Top stuff matth.
I wonder how u collect such data? Any app or any specific website or something else?

Cricket’s debatable statistics: The home town geniuses

There can be no debate of the inclusion of the pace trio of ishant, bumrah, shami. Even for excellent siraj, there is no way to drop any of those.
No.7 locked for jadeja, 8 for ashwin and 6 for pant.
But what about the batters?
Rohit is not a strong batsman against quality swing bowlers. Gill is much talented but inexperienced. India have Rahul and Agarwal. But recent form of Rohit and Gill will keep them ahead.
But I don’t see their opening partnership is strong enough for condition like England.
Rahane is unpredictable. Pujara’s patience can give him some advantage. But these two has experience of playing in England. Only one left is Kohli.
Kohli has some weakness against qulality swing bowlers, but all know he is a class act.
What I am trying to say is, India have no worry about their bowling lineup. They are all fine. But in a condition like England and against a bowling attack of NZ batting is their main issue. If they can manage swing well then there can be a chance for them.
Really?
A bit but not fully.
There is one man, Neil Wagner, with is mystery slow, high and low bounce.
Watch out India, Wagner is waiting for you.

Finally, I think there will be a tough final for both of the teams.
Can’t Wait.

How India should line up for the World Test Championship final

Absolutely agree with Paul. Before the Ashes, if players can’t play any international test that would cause the 1st match at Gabba.
I don’t see any reason to play a 5 match t20 series with Sri Lanka. Instead, a 3 match (atleast 2) test series would be nice.
So the bold question is why so many t20s even after t20 WC get finished?
I dont want to think in that way but can’t but say: ‘probably MONEY?’

Cricket Australia need to get it right for the next summer

Tom, his last bbl performance was not bad. The last time he played for Australia, (against Sl and Pak series) he was good enough, it was a long time ago though. But then after being overlooked(I don’t know why) for next some series, I think he lost his confidence. Look, how many chances did M Marsh and Stoinis got? Plenty, right? Still they can’t perform consistently. That’s why I think, it’s time to move on and play someone like Turner who has well reputation to turn a match in favour.

Australia names preliminary squad for Windies tour

Team selection is getting worse day be day. Why not Josh Inglish? They are taking 4-5 openers, 8 pacers but still middle order is out of order. To be truth, both Stoinis and M Marsh are not permanent soultion for middle order. As far as I know, Ashton Turner has some health issue recently. He is a better option in my opinion. With Turner not available at this momment, calling Josh Inglish would be the right dicission. In fact, the ‘Turner- Inglish’ combo would be a valuable option for Aaustralia’s t20 middle order (when Turner available).

Australia names preliminary squad for Windies tour

I admit the fact t20 world cup is coming soon and it’s the reason why they are focusing on t20 cricket much. But as a cricket lover, I am hugely disappointed not seeing any test matches. Missing Australia’s test cricket badly.

Aussies announce West Indies tour

Ben yes, that is the case when head or someone like handscomb plays at 5 then carey can go for 7.

Who should bat at five for Australia in the Ashes?

DTM I see Green as the next no. 4 after Smith retires. But as for now I think Green should play at 6 for at least 2 seasons. This will help him to grow his mental strength for international level. He also bowls part time. Now all you have to do is to give him space and make him fell free to keep his place in the team. He is a great future for Australia.

Who should bat at five for Australia in the Ashes?

Head is always in line for no.5. He deserves the first chance of it. But another good option is to play Alex Carey. He can play both defensive and attacking cricket depend on situation. After Time Paine retires and Josh Inglish takes his place then the Australia will get an attacking option. Otherwise, if Head playes at 5 and Carey at 7 and Inglish as for backup it will also be fascinating.
I’m not sure if Maxwell is a good option in test cricket.

Who should bat at five for Australia in the Ashes?

James Pattionson is a gem. He is very unfortunate not playing much tests through those years. If he is fit then he should join the duo of cummins-hazlewood in the upcoming ashes.

James Pattinson is charging, Marcus Stoinis is flagging and Alex Carey's been anointed
