Club and players to blame in Manly pride jersey fiasco as boycott highlights hypocrisy on other issues
I don’t deny it, tas pitta.
Problem is, two of those three groups choose believe in lies, while the third group doesn’t get to choose who they are.
Club and players to blame in Manly pride jersey fiasco as boycott highlights hypocrisy on other issues
Definitely.
A bit like how Ben Roberts-Smith, with zero tertiary education at the time, became the general manager for Seven in Queensland.
Would have loved to have been the unsuccessful, highly qualified applicant for that role. A bit like the Barilaro nonsense of today.
NRL News: Folau's wife blasts 'hypocrite' V'landys, Manly seven told not to attend, Sam takes Souths over Dolphins
It was a great meet.
Away from the Australians a tad, it was just thrilling to see Sydney McLaughlin do her thing. And the 100m womens hurdles was just insane.
The womens 1500m, mens 1500m were just some of the most terrific races you’ll see. The womens 10000m was fantastic.
Flo-jo’s 200m womens record may hopefully go by the end of the year.
Looks like Bolt’s 9.58 is going to be safe for a while longer as well. Can’t see anyone showing they have the ability to even get regularly in the low 9.7’s.

Nat, remember…he makes more in a week than what we make in a month.
I’m pretty sure he’s one of those people on the internet that earns “$6000 a day in passive income from rental properties”.

Well, considering one is most definitely a Mormon…I’m sure he’s got quite a few questions to answer about:
1. Why he wears a Pointsbet logo on his shirt
2. Why he plays on Sunday
3. Why he’s been spotted necking beers with his teammates.
4. Why he feels he needs to provide moral support in court to someone who stabbed someone else, but a law abiding citizen who happens to be gay is the font of all evil.

I know. Isn’t it great?

They’re not in physical danger, no. But the likelihood of them responding physically to a torrent of abuse is possible.
Or worse, opposing positions amongst fans spilling into something violent.
Best they stay away.

It gets worse when you consider how many swimmers and rugby union players get accelerated through banking and legal roles based on their name, not ability.

My mistake
Robinson spot on: What would Manly seven think if a teammate refused to wear a Pasifika themed jersey?
Isn’t there a cloud for you to yell at?
Robinson spot on: What would Manly seven think if a teammate refused to wear a Pasifika themed jersey?
No it’s not.
It’s a very obvious reflection that Pacific islanders are as much a minority – a marginalised one at that – as the gay one.
A pasifika round could highlight the truly abysmal stats that surround the socio-economic factors of the community (i.e average education, salaries, health markers are all wildly below average).
But instead, these 7 have instead just reinforced a stereotype that they are all just God fearing bigots.
Robinson spot on: What would Manly seven think if a teammate refused to wear a Pasifika themed jersey?
Homophobia and misogyny tend to be teeth and gum, that’s why.
It’s borderline impossible to meet a feminist that is a raging homophobe.
Robinson spot on: What would Manly seven think if a teammate refused to wear a Pasifika themed jersey?
That’s too obvious, Tim!
Robinson spot on: What would Manly seven think if a teammate refused to wear a Pasifika themed jersey?
How have they been excluded?
They chose to boycott. The club is taking them stand down.

You are aware that the governance structures of churches are inherently totalitarian, right?
More so than any totalitarian government that’s ever existed.
Ever.
MICHAEL HAGAN: Hasler faces monumental task to stop jersey fiasco derailing Manly's season
Well, the problem with that is that it’s 2022. Not 1822
These Pacific islanders CHOOSE to still believe this nonsense.
Those in 1822 didn’t have a choice. Colonialism was brutal to those who didn’t convert.
Robinson spot on: What would Manly seven think if a teammate refused to wear a Pasifika themed jersey?
Ok. Let’s have a Muslim round too…but I bet YOU would boycott that.
Robinson spot on: What would Manly seven think if a teammate refused to wear a Pasifika themed jersey?
Garbage.
All seven are Polynesian. You cannot say it’s just about religion.
Robinson spot on: What would Manly seven think if a teammate refused to wear a Pasifika themed jersey?
Hahaha
Robinson spot on: What would Manly seven think if a teammate refused to wear a Pasifika themed jersey?
So basically, we haven’t had a pride round because the NRL doesn’t want to offend the bigotted minority?
Robinson spot on: What would Manly seven think if a teammate refused to wear a Pasifika themed jersey?
Next you’ll start saying that American Airlines are responsible for running Gitmo.
