Come on, Frizell was egging him on and being a pest of how great he was, he deserved more than what Cody gave him! And of course G. Sutton had to get in the way, let’s not forget, it was at a critical part of the game and tempers were flaring, especially after Frizell dogged Graham and stole the ball, just a spur of the moment thing and it was all harmless.

Was Cody Walker lucky to escape suspension for this?

I don’t know about ‘I dont think Souths can win the comp’ as any game can come down to the wire and it depends on the sustainability of each team and how much they want it. I agree that Souths were very flat and uninspiring on Saturday, I thought that they are going to get beat after the first half effort but, I always had that ‘Dragons Factor’ that they also didn’t look that inspiring and were missing players. This Saturday it will be a totally different thing, well on paper anyway but and don’t forget, what the Dragons did to the Broncos, because that is what could happen between Souths v Roosters as the Bunnies have plenty of talent and determination to go all the way.

According to Seibold, the pressure is on Roosters

For me Reno was the most outstanding player of the weekend and should be the 1/2 for the blues in 2019, there is no comparison between him and Cleary as Cleary has allot to learn from Reno!

NRL team of the week: semifinals

I fully agree, its shameful and a disgrace that the NRL and the AFL promotes gambling with so much exposure on ‘Free To Air TV!!! I have to give it to the AFL that they don’t promote it as much as the NRL, where the NRL continually promotes it and nearly every add is a gambling add on ‘Free To Air TV’!!! This should not be allowed and the laws should be changed, it wasn’t allowed ever in the past as its dangerous to young kids, who are continually exposed to this very addictive form(s) from when they are young!!! How sad and what hypocrisy, as its all about the $$$, very sad!!!

The smaller NRL crowds confirm the AFL is the superior code? Rubbish!

Yeah, fully agree, as the AFL are continually going on about their ‘All Australian Players’??? What the hell is an ‘All Australian Player’ when the AFL is only played in Australia and they don’t have the best football players in Australia, the AFL never ever was and never ever will be an international game or the best game in Australia, what a joke. Its the most frustrating game to watch as the ball is like a ‘Hot Potato’ and now that the refs are giving a free kick for even a ‘pinkie’ on the head and this ridiculous 50m penalties, the game has no mongrel and is a complete joke. Lets not compare the two games as they are like ‘chalk and cheese’ and they can never ever be compared. Can you imagine any of those stretchiest in the AFL players playing in the NRL??? It would be laughable, they wouldn’t last 10min. I can’t watch the AFL for more than 5min its completely frustrating and unwatchable, its an unnatural wreck of a football game and should never ever be called football! lol

The smaller NRL crowds confirm the AFL is the superior code? Rubbish!

Your excuse as a Dragons fan, that Murray was interfering with the play the ball is completely unfounded! Murray was not interfering with the ‘paly the ball’, it’s a fact and very simple, the correct penalty was awarded by the refs under the new rule! McInnes could have passed the ball over him Murry but, he decided to ‘milk a penalty’ and pass the ball ‘downward into Murry’ and he got penalised, simple, the rule was changed and the Dragons paid the price but, that wasn’t the deciding factor of why the Dragons lost, it was far from it and the Dragons fans are just making unfounded excuses of why they had the usual ‘slump in form’ like they have done for a few seasons now at the business end of the season. The Bunnies were far from convincing, the Dragons wouldn’t have won even if they would have been at full strength, get over it as the Bunnies are a better team and Reno is a genius at kicking, 3 FG’s and he was a s cold as ice, Reno is genius at pressure kicks that was the difference.

Seven talking points from South Sydney Rabbitohs vs St George Illawarra Dragons NRL semi-final

Crowds might be up but the NRL still looks a joke on TV when you get 5000 people at the Olympic stadium and when it compares to the population growth of Sydney and Australia.

The smaller NRL crowds confirm the AFL is the superior code? Rubbish!

This crowd thing is exactly the same with the NRL as it’s demographics, the NRL has for years been pushing the NRL to be popular in other states e.g. in Qld and Vic, they have forgotten that their base is in Sydney and especially in the Eastern Suburbs, which has been totally forgotten. The biggest mistake was to not invest in the NRL regions instead, they have completely messed up the demographics of their regions e.g. the Rabbitohs fans now have to travel (a load of Km’s) to that dinosaur of a place the Olympic stadium for their home games. I refuse to travel to the Olympic stadium for my home team’s game even when it’s the finals. In the past we had Redfern oval (which should have been upgraded) that was our home game and was perfect for the demographics of the Rabbits fans, then in the finals we had the SCG which has been shamefully ‘sold out’ of all NRL games to the AFL and the Swans. Unless the NRL gets fair dinkum and start to think about local teams the NRL will lose its core and its bases and things will continue to go downhill with crowds, like they are continually today and beyond.

The smaller NRL crowds confirm the AFL is the superior code? Rubbish!

Don’t forget the top players that they always buy to win a MP, but not much luck with winning the GF’s, never mind, 2019 and beyond, they will buy some more, the local talent never gets a look in! Been there done that in the 70’s that is why I played in the Souths comp.

According to Seibold, the pressure is on Roosters

What about the Bunnies, they should have won the MP as they were on top of the ladder in round 21 and with 2 points clear, they lost 3 of their last 4 games and they didn’t come into these finals in very good form. Last nights effort was awful and if wasn’t for Reno we would have lost, their effort was very poor in the first half, it looked like they were gassed after 5 min. There’s allot of ifs and buts as the teams that are in the box seat are definitely the Roosters and the Storm, the Bunnies and the Sharks will have to put in 2 big games to ever come close to winning the GF but and as we saw last night “never ever say never” as there is always a way to win a game, as long as you never ever give up and that is what the Bunnies spirit is and what they did!!! Go The Bunnies!!! lol

Seven talking points from South Sydney Rabbitohs vs St George Illawarra Dragons NRL semi-final

If GI gets suspended for that then it will be a joke, he had no intention of going for a crusher tackle like Mitchell’s and the worst one was Chambers one, the two can’t be compared to GI’s, they were deliberate and ugly. GI landed on top of Lafai neck accidentally in the process of a tackle, with no intention of a crusher tackle. What about the chicken wing tackle on GI? The match review committee didn’t even call that up and the refs completely ignored it, no penalty, not even a stoppage while GI was in agony and off, how is that right? GI was more injured from that tackle then Lafai ever was from GI’s tackle.

Seven talking points from South Sydney Rabbitohs vs St George Illawarra Dragons NRL semi-final

What about this ‘GI might get charged over possible crusher tackle’? That was a very minimal type of a tangled tackle, not a crusher tackle! This was certainly nothing like Mitchell’s, if this tackle on Lafai was a ‘crusher tackle’ then why didn’t the NRL match review committee charge the Storm with a chicken wing? They should use the same logic as with that, that is if??? the NRL match review committee has any logic and/or looks at it the same, its a lottery???

Reynolds snatches preliminary final berth for Souths

It will be close, I’m on the fence as anything can and will probably happen in this one. The only thing that rubs me the wrong way is this nightmare that is looming with Sammy B, the headline pages are filled with him and all the idiotic things that he might have done, if they are true? All in all, this should continue the excellent and close matches that we’ve had in the last 2 weeks and this wont be any different. Good luck Scott with your blokes and may the best team win as the road ahead is a tough one whoever wins.

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs St George Illawarra Dragons: NRL semi-final preview and prediction

Gee the media are good at creating ‘fake news and a scandal’ out of nothing! If the NRL media is so ‘in the know’ why didn’t the media expose this in May this year? This is just a low act and if I were Seibold, I wouldn’t not front up to the media, there are no questions to answer for Seibold and this should be left to the authorities and most certainly until the end of the season!

Under-fire Bunnies look to re-group against Dragons

Great summation of both teams Scott, the Bunnies for me have to really come out firing to prove anything for these finals, ball control, left edge defence and minimise penalties as G. Sutton is refing this game and it could be a lottery? Yes they put in a big effort against the Storm but, we need Sammy and all the experienced boys to fire and not make mistakes as dropping the ball at crucial times is just not good enough in the finals and will loose games. Some of our defensive efforts have been pretty ordinary and especially that left edge, which looks more venerable since round 21 against the Storm, when Doueihi got injured and we don’t have the option of his interchange. I’m very confident in this game as the Bunnies have too much for the Dragons but and in saying that, the Dragons absolutely smashed the Broncos so talent and whatever else a side has, means ‘Zero’ in these finals.

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs St George Illawarra Dragons: NRL semi-final preview and prediction

I fully agree with you TB, Luke’s late spear tackle on Jimmy was a real grub act and a cheap late shot and to top all that off, Issac even grubbily rubbed his fist into Jimmy’s face, when Jimmy was down and out, what a low act! Luke should definitely been penalised but, nothing amazes me with the blinkered one dimensional refs that are in the NRL comp, the penalty to the Warriors was unbelievable!!!

Cronulla Sharks vs Penrith Panthers: The ultra definitive NRL semi-final stats preview

This game will depend on and if the Panthers turn up? They will certainly and definitely put on the ‘ad lib’ style of play, add to that, their ability to come from behind, which are two big factors that will beat the Sharks. These two teams are pretty evenly matched but, the Panthers showed how much depth and how talented they are by beating Storm 9that was probably the turning point of their season) and then, they topped that off by the complete smashing of the Warriors. For me, the Panthers will wear the Sharks down and that is how they will win, as far as this Maloney v Moylan thing is concerned, Maloney will completely outplay Moylan and that is just one of the key factors of this contest. It will be close but, I still think that the Panthers are too persistent and have too much for the Sharks all across the park.

Cronulla Sharks vs Penrith Panthers: The ultra definitive NRL semi-final stats preview

Fully agree TB, Peachey would be a waste at the Titans, they are better off without him! You only want players that will be there for some sort of a dedicated effort and loyalty, you can’t have a bloke like Peachey who doesn’t want to be there (before he even starts) and would be a complete waist of time and money, give an up and coming youngster a go and invest in him instead of flogging a dead horse. But, why is this always happening at the Titans?

Peachey may back flip on Gold Coast deal, Titans stand firm

I love it, what is this pressure business??? There’s never been pressure this year, we’ve done better than anybody was expecting and more!!! All is well at the burrow, the Dragon fans are all coming out of the woodwork, they have already won the comp, as they will do this and that to us??? Just remember, none of you expected to beat the Broncos1!!! That was a fluky win over the Broncos last Sunday as you were fortunate that the Broncos ‘didn’t turn up’ which won’t happen with the Bunnies, just remember, we are quite achievers and we wont brag and/or give out our secrets lol wait and see at 21:20 Saturday 15 Sep when we will be singing the mighty ‘Glory Glory to South Sydney’ song. Go the Bunnies, all I can say is that ‘we are certainties’!!!

The Dragons are back and they’re a real chance

Let the Dragons be favourites as the Bunnies won’t make the same mistakes again, Sammy might have had an ordinary game but, he will still be right up there doing what he does best together with the twins. Crichton has had the flue and hence his below par form, as far as we know, Reno and GI should be both ok for this game. The Bunnies are no easy beats and the Dragons better bring their A game as the Bunnies will not make the same mistakes as the Broncos did. Should be a terrific game but I can’t see the Bunnies being beat.

Dragons ready to roll on past Rabbitohs

Yeah ‘buttery’ the game on Friday was let go by the refs and nothing was penalised there for a very long time, the refs have gone from one extreme to another, which is not what we are asking for. I know that I’ve been critical with all the penalties that are blown but, there is a limit to what is acceptable and what is not. The way that Klein refereed that game was fair enough but, he should have been more diligent on the slow play the balls and certain tackles that were illegal. Adam Reynolds especially, was continually hurt by Kaufusi and taken out of the game far too often, the chicken wing tackle on GI should have been penalised as it was illegal. Never mind, we will suck it and see what is going to happen next week? As I’m sure that Mary will get Tariq Sims do the same thing to Reynolds in Saturday’s game so Reno should get ready for another bruising game that hopefully he doesn’t sustain any injuries from.

NRL team of the week: Finals Week 1

I agree Albo, the Storm only beat us by 1 point but, we would rather have it this way, let the Dragons be the favourites, all the other sides, can have all the players they want in the ‘team of the week’ as the Bunnies were more than outstanding considering the style of play that the Storm were allowed to play. Never mind, its better for us that no one thinks that we can progress any further and that we are gone. Under the circumstances of what was allowed in Fridays nights game (which wasn’t allowed in any of the other games in finals) e.g. chicken wing tackle, blatant slow play the balls (which suites the Storm) and the continual dangerous tackles on Reno (after he kicked the ball) which caused his injuries, we did pretty well. I’m sure that Mary will get Tariq Sims (who is a specialist in that, to take out Reno) just like Felise Kaufusi did, we will be ready for that. I was very proud of the Bunnies all year and especially last Friday night and there is ‘no worries’ coming into this Semi Final on Saturday. For me, the Dragons had a fluky day, they only beat a very ordinary Broncos side that had an off day and wasn’t really what the Broncos are capable of. let’s see what happens, as the Bunnies won’t be like the Broncos were yesterday lol

NRL team of the week: Finals Week 1

Mate, S. Burgess and the his twin brothers are awesome, do you the usual C. Smith wraps that we have had a gut full of and the Slater, Munster which always gets over the top. Now all that people talk about is the ‘L. Mitchell crusher tackle’ what about the illegal ‘chicken wing’ tackle on GI? When GI was genuinely injured, this incident wasn’t even penalised, mentioned and the refs completely overlooked (even though, it was clear on the replay) and it was ignored and the game just continued on. Then you can add the continual sus tackles on Reno by Kaufusi after the ball was kicked, this happened continually and just before 1/2 time when Reno was ‘down and out’ (with a bad shoulder injury caused by Kaufusi) and the Bunnies were with 12 men and the Storm scored! There was nothing done about that. I wonder what would have happened if C. Smith would have been susceptible to a ‘chicken wing’ and/or Munster was smothered and continually injured like Reno or these tackles were made by the Bunnies and S. Burgess? He would have been put on report and penalised, for sure! The game was refereed to suit the Storm with their slowing down tactics and laying allover the tackled, swinging the tackled player around etc etc this is a tactic that the Storm use all the time and nothing ever gets done, this was even though the Bunnies just lost. All I can say is that the Bunnies put in an outstanding effort and the Bunnies will be back, bigger and better than ever, you mark my words!!! Go the Bunnies

Let me count the ways I hate the Storm

HaHaaa what a joke, what other leg ups do the chooks need? G. Sutton was giving the chooks all the help that he could, there was a period there that the chooks got 3 continual penalties from their 20m to be in the attack in the Sharkies 10m. Don’t make out like the chooks are world beaters, this wasn’t a convincing win especially when the Sharkies should have scored at least 2 tries. At least the Bunnies put in a better performance and when you compare the two games, the Bunnies will smash the chooks if we meet again. Go the Bunnies, no worries, bring it on!!!

Six talking points from Sydney Roosters vs Cronulla Sharks NRL qualifying final

You are all dreaming as there will be nothing done by the NRL with the ‘The NRL must crack down on Latrell Mitchell’s crusher tackle’!!! What about the ‘chicken wing’ tackle on GI? GI was injured and must have been affected, he was in allot of pain. That incident wasn’t even penalised, mentioned and the refs completely overlooked and ignored it and the game just continued on. What would have happened if GI shoulder was dislocated and he had to come off? Then you can add the sus tackles on Reno by especially Kaufusi after the ball was kicked, this happened continually and just before 1/2 time Reno was ‘down and out’ and the Bunnies were with 12 men and the Storm scored! Its a joke and the NRL can apply all the rules that they want ‘during the 25 rounds’ as if they don’t apply them in the finals, its wrong and a laughable matter!
