Well its all over “Ben Barba has been deregistered by the NRL after an integrity unit investigation found he had been involved in a physical altercation with his partner”. NRL CEO Todd Greenberg said he did not see a time “or any time in the future” when Barba would be welcomed back to the game. The finding came after the integrity unit viewed CCTV footage of the incident involving Barba and his partner at a Townsville casino over the Australia Day weekend.

NRL left with no choice but to impose tough stance on player misbehaviour

TB for me, I find it very hard to see NRL players or any sports people who are involved in gimballing, betting in a casino, tracks etc! A sports person should not be involved in gambling at all, this should be part and parcel of their contract, as I find this a very sus and a conflict of interest, especially when their sports are gambled on and/or they are at a casino for 7 hours! They should be restricted in drinking in pubs while they are in any way involved in the pre season and/or season of the NRL. This would curb allot of the problems that these ‘lose canons’ become once they have had a few, especially in a casino where the added pressure of losing money adds to their aggression, especially with a partner who probably is going out of her way to stop him gambling!

NRL left with no choice but to impose tough stance on player misbehaviour

For the police prosecutor to charge Barba they need conclusive evidence that he assaulted and also caused bodily harm to his partner but, if no injury happened and his partner dosen’t want to ‘press any charges’ the police have a different case to take it to court. Video evidence is fine but, the defendant can argue and if he’s got a good solicitor then there is a chance of him getting a ‘slap on the wrist’, which happens all the time. I haven’t seen the video so I presume that it is serious enough (as the Cowboys sacked him) and Barba is a goner and will be sacked from the NRL. This is what Greenberg said and he didn’t sound too keen on letting Barba off and/or making any exceptions!

At long last, the NRL makes a stand

Sure is, the bigger problem here is Ben’s violent and abusive behaviour, its amazing that he can’t control himself (when he very well knows that he’s on CCTV) and that the casino has hundreds of cameras! Can you imagine what this lose cannon Barba is like in a private situation? The ironic thing is, that “Ainslie Currie reportedly met with North Queensland officials in an effort to save her partner’s job after the alleged assault” and that is where the problem lays, the abused very rarely report the assault’s and that is why the assault’s escalate and come to a high profiled level like they are here with Ben Barba!

At long last, the NRL makes a stand

Apparently after his latest ‘it hasn’t’ and that is where this problem lays!!! I don’t know where Barba’s mindset is but, its most definitely not doing the right thing(s) he must have allot of problems. No amount of punishment will ever curb his behaviour. How stupid is it that he gets a golden opportunity ‘again’ and he blows it in such a stupid way, its very unfortunate ‘not for Barba’ but for his family, very sad!

Cowboys sack Ben Barba for 'significant' breach of contract

GI didn’t get a ‘a slap on the wrist(s)’ where did you get that from? For the DUI of 0.086 his or anyone’s max penalty is either a ‘Section 10’ (if he’s got no prior DUI’s and/or a good driving record) or a max of 3 months disqualification of his licence but, if he had prior convictions for DUI then he would have got 12 months suspension minimum. What he and his solicitor negotiated was an 18 months good behaviour bond. That’s not ‘a slap on the wrist(s)’ as and if he gets caught for any DUI offences he will get at least 12 months disqualification or even jail time.

The choose your own adventure sex tape

My only doubt are these sorts of incidents with Norman? E.g. overnight, a video was widely circulated on social media showing an elderly man appearing to snort something off a dinner plate while three men, including St George Dragons player Corey Norman and Wallabies veteran Kurtley Beale, watch on, yes, this is old but Norman has been caught with other incidents like these at the Eels. The Dragons will have to really be strict with Norman as these sorts of things don’t just go away and in most cases reoccur. Lets see what happens? As I hope that Norman pulls his head in, he’s a good footballer and should do very well at the Dragons if he has a 100% go like he use to in 2015-16!

The Dragons' conundrum of what to do with Corey Norman?

that’s not quite right “I think they won 2 from there last 7 round matches)…..and Seibold didn’t seem to have a plan B” yes Seibold didn’t have a plan B but, Souths had a 50% record in their last 8 rounds of 2018, the results were: R18 – Souths – 24 vs Bulldogs 06, R19 – Souths – 06 vs Wests/Tigers 22, R20 – Souths – 26 vs Eels 20, R21 – Souths – 30 vs Storm 20, R22 – Souths – 14 vs Roosters 18, R23 – Souths – 18 vs Broncos 38, R24 – Souths – 12 vs Raiders 24 and R25 – Souths – 51 vs Wests/Tigers 10. In the last 4 rounds they lost 3 and won 1 which was very ordinary and Seibold had no idea what to do especially with some of the injuries that we had.

Who will emerge the beneficiary of the Seibold-Bennett swap?

Firstly, I’m sick and tired of reading these speculative articles that just a journalistic sensationalism of a hit and miss speculative nonsense! As a diehard Souths fan my conclusion are as follows, Bennett was never ever thought of at Souths in 2018 and especially for 2019, Bennett got the job because Souths were put into an aquand and difficult situation and had no other option(s) after the deceptive dog act that Seibold did and left us with. I’m not being disrespectful here and saying that Bennett was a bad choice but, those were the facts. All in all, some of your assumptions are ridiculous e.g. “Cody Walker can anticipate problems with Bennett’s approach to coaching” then this “The Burgess twins have typically not put in the hard yards or met statistical targets early in the NRL season” which might have been true before with the Burgess twins, who were not top notch post our win of the 2014 GF but, they were the main force behind Souths excellent results in 2018 as I’m sure that it won’t be different in 2019 for them, especially with Bennett there. All in all, there’s no worries at Souths and I predict that Bennett will chime into his coaching style and get our boys firing as they all the confidence and the respect of what Bennett will do in the future and for the next 3 years in winning a GF. Go the Bunnies bring on 2019!

Rumblings at the Rabbitohs as Bennett takes charge

You can reverse that and say, what about when the Rabbits will go well in 2019 (as they will do) who will get the credit then? Hope you and everyone else won’t say its because of ‘Seibold’ as he dogged us and had nothing to do with our success and was always a ‘one trick pony’!

The great NRL coach-off

“Wrong…I’m predicting an inversion of results: Broncos third and Rabbitohs sixth” you have to be kidding. this is very similar to last year, when all the pundits here and everywhere predicted that the Bunnies will either get the woden spoon or be in the last 8 lol I got abused and laughed at, when I predicted that the Bunnies will be in the top 4. For me, this coach swap will be more of an advantage to the Bunnies than the Broncos, Seibold will not have the success that he did with the Bunnies, yes, he got us to 3rd but and lets not forget, that the Bunnies had allot of injuries to some major players that could have gotten them to minor premiers. Both side have allot to improve but, the Bunnies have allot more experienced and hardened players than the Broncos have, add Bennett and his experience and his knowhow and you get what was missing from the Bunnies under Seibold, that will get our boys right up there to win the comp in 2019, barring major injuries, the Bunnies will be right up there and should be in the top 4 again, I’ve got no doubt. The biggest question here is not what Bennett will or can do but “???Will Seibold???” have the same success as he did at the Bunnies with the Broncos??? I don’t think so!!! Got the Bunnies!!!

The great NRL coach-off

Not another one! Must be the fashion with RL players!

Jack de Belin charged with aggravated sexual assault

They won’t…”Daley is saying that if his Labor Party comes to power, they won’t rebuild Allianz Stadium once it is knocked down” end of story as this current government has been the most successful state government to ever govern NSW, as judging by what’s happening in Canberra maybe Australia .

Michael Daley might be doing rugby league a giant favour

I don’t think Bennett has any worries with his number 9 positions, irrespective of and if Cook gets injured or slumps in form, he can easily slot Cameron Murray into that position and Cam can do just as good a job. Murray is a relentless and devastating runner from dummy half and a prolific opportunist wherever he is positioned, he’s shown that all throughout 2018. I rate him just as highly as Cook. It will be interesting to see how Cook pans out under Bennett, as both are very much looking forward to working with each other in 2019 and I think that Cook signing a 5 year deal had allot to do with Bennett coaching the Bunnies.

Cooked Cook, McInnes Masterchef: Why Cook’s Origin jersey should be given to crafty Cameron

Albo, what’s wrong with Reno? And why do we need a halfback? Reno is there for a purpose, he’s no Shawn Johnson, he’s not a Maloney or a Cronk but he is a devastating kicker and points scorer and an up and under try assist specialist. Now let’s see his 2018 stats, 24 appearances, 5 tries, 93 out of 124 attempts at goal at 75% success rate, 5 field goals and a total of 211 overall points. That’s why Adam Reynolds is the Bunnies halfback! Since 2012 Reno has scored 1208 points, appeared 154 times, scored 24 tries and scored 16 field goals, scored 548 goals out of 667 attempts at 82.16%, that is why Adam Reynolds is at the Bunnies.

Damien Cook signs monster contract extension with Rabbitohs

Firstly, I want to congratulate Cook for sticking with the Bunnies, he is a devastating weapon for us and will get better under Wayne Bennett! But, he has been like that for a long time now, his potential was shown very early on and especially when I first saw him play for the Dogs, he was an absolute weapon, don’t know why the Dogs let him go, it was good for the Bunnies thaw! I’m sure that allot of Doggy fans are dirty about that e.g. TB lol but, when he came to the Bunnies, Madge didn’t give him a go, he just sat there on the bench with either McInnes or Farah getting a go and was waisted and used in patches. This is great news for the Bunnies (as I would have absolutely hated him playing for the Broncs and Seibold lol) and I hope that they can also secure a contract with Robert Jennings too. Looks good for the Bunnies in 2019, bring it on!

Damien Cook signs monster contract extension with Rabbitohs

I don’t agree Keith that “it must also be said, though, that the officials of both clubs can’t escape criticism for breaching their contracts” as the Bunnies officials didn’t, they had a contract on the table since June this year for Seibold, this was ready for him to sign while he was dogging us and negotiating a contract (behind our backs) and continually denying that he had any negotiations with the Broncos. On the other side, Bennett had a contract and was 100% willing to fulfil his contractual duties, he was not negotiating anything (behind the Broncos officials and fans back) and he stood his ground, that is why Bennett said “I’ve come to Souths with ‘a clear conscience” as he didnt want to let the Broncos fans and players down, big difference to what Seibold did, on the other side, Seibold did everything in the opposite way, he let our fans down and the Bunnies officials down, who went out of their way to plan a future for the club with him and his family. As far as I’m concerned Seibold is in the wrong here and will regret the way that he has gone on with this. Lets see what he does at the Broncs, as I’m sure that he won’t ‘come anywhere near’ the success as what Bennett did and I will give him 2-3 years max and then what? As no other club will ever trust Seibold again and/or give him a contract, especially clubs outside of Brisbane, where this guy wants to stay, he said so!

There are no winners in the NRL coach shuffle

Btw, I’ve never ever seen Wayne Bennett so happy and smiling!! Gee it must have been pretty miserable up there in Brisbane and at the Broncs lol

Wayne Bennett cracks jokes during his first Rabbitohs press conference

Wayne is already having the ” I’M FEELING IT” moments at the Bunnies, great things to come from the master! Btw, all you Broncos fans can have “Seibold” he’s not feeling it and never ever will but, don’t forget “to watch your backs’ as Seibold might negotiate a contract half way through of 2020, as the Broncs wont make the 8 in 2019. Go Bunnies!!!

Wayne Bennett cracks jokes during his first Rabbitohs press conference

Fully agree, I tried to watch a direct telecast of an NFL game when Hayne was playing for the 49’ers and just gave up, every 3 min there was a stoppage and they went to a commercial break. Very frustrating to watch.

My 2019 sporting bucket list

Firstly, what a flogging comment, if you cared to know and realise, the NRL is watched on TV at a higher ratio (2 to 1) to the AFL, the NRL attendances might not be as high as the AFL but, its extensively watched on TV as the NRL is a much better game to watch on TV. Also, why would a network fork out 1.8 billion (that was in 2015) to get TV rights deal to the NRL? I’m sure that News Corp’s and Fox Sports will have to fork out much more when a new contract will be on the table in 2018/19 for the NRL. Both games are for different audiences and unfortunately being alien to either sports (as I watch both and many other sports) proves, peoples ignorance’s and inferiority complexes in both codes.

My 2019 sporting bucket list

Big Daddy, my suggestion is, just keep walking with ‘blinkers and headphones on’ and you will be right mate! Btw, I couldn’t give a rats what White or Seibold are and will do but, there is a proper procedure to do things and they have completely and unmorally stuffed this up and have been shown up of how amateurish they really are by master Bennett.

Broncos sack Bennett, sign Seibold

No information? That Paul White (he’s supposed to be the CEO, for gods sake) would say anything, his excuse(s) are just not on, if he really wanted to get in contact with Bennett then he surly would have known where Bennett is! He’s just used a flimsy excuse as he and the Broncos wanted to terminate Bennett’s contract asap, without any proper morals, procedures and decency, all they wanted to do is save $$$’s and it back fired on them! The people you have mentioned above with the Bunnies are exceptions, they did get a ‘fair go’ at the Bunnies and they were released of their duties and contracts, not like this Broncos and Seibold fiasco, with their gutless gibber and sabotaging Bennett, behind his back, to try and save some $$$’s! It didn’t work and that was Wayne Bennett’s main criteria, this time, that he won’t go as easily as he did in 2009, when he coached the Dragons!

Broncos sack Bennett, sign Seibold

These phone calls excuses blah blah blah just proves how weak Paul White is, he just didn’t have the balls to front Bennett and tell Bennett about the sacking, to his face! These guys will say anything and do anything, how can a CEO be so weak and unprofessional to terminate a contract with just making a phone call and/or as he did, a text message? This is especially with Wayne Bennett, who’s surely deserves more respect and is one of the most successful and decorated coaches in RL history and Broncos history! This proves what a bunch of weak personalities are running the Broncos and their disgraceful pattern to do things. What a joke! Never mind, Bennett is lucky that he is coming to a loyal die hard club like the Bunnies, that our history is filled with loyalty and dedication. Go the Bunnies!!!

Broncos sack Bennett, sign Seibold

Answer: Chatauqua wasn’t stubborn, he just didn’t want to race and win anymore, he had enough, which is not like Wayne Bennett at all, as he wants to do all that and more lol

Broncos sack Bennett, sign Seibold
