Ken, It is comforting that Randwick is still disliked. We used to hate playing there. Beating them was always a pleasure, they are not the force they once were.
I gather that Uni is almost in the same boat but a better club to play away against.

I remember Campo coming onto play for Manly in his first run in Shute Sheild, didn’t last there long I guess.

'Sh-t, this guy is nuts': Eddie Jones has a book out and of course it contains some absolute gold

Jez, or if not in the 23 they play in club rugby, it’s better than nothing but too much of it and the edge is lost.

Nick, I clearly remember the red rings around my legs from trudging through snow and slush in the winter. Couldn’t wait to get away from the cold.

Coach's Corner: How European-based players impacted the Wallabies

Thanks Jez, look at the number of senior games Englands Smith at 10 has played compared to just about any of these guys.
We complain about a shortage of talent in the country, I wonder how much we let go because we won’t take the effort to develop them – Reds an exception?

Jim, enjoyed this read and it gave me some comfort after a weak trip to Europe.
There were a few names there that should be good for the future but not sure if we will or should hold onto them.
There is insufficient faith in our youngsters at SR level and maybe the only thing to do is just let them go and try to bring them back when their value has tripled, although this seems wasteful, the reality is we don’t have the money to keep them.

I thought I’d post this list of the players in our 2019 u20’s team that performed so well. I am wondering if we are getting the best out of this batch?

Glimpses of greatness and lamentable let-downs: Wallabies 2021 player ratings

Bobby, the coordination of players in positions is a problem in OZ. How do we prioritise players in preferred positions for the Wallabies over the franchise?
I am hopeful that we don’t lose Wilson, McRight, L. Wright and many of the U20’s team. They are professional players with limited life and you can’t expect them to hang around for 2-3 years waiting for a call up.

Carlos, your comments here are appreciated by the vast majority of posters. Let this one go mate. I didn’t read the thread you are referring to but a couple of claims from guys with an opinion v a guy who specialises in it, well I understand how that can get to you but, life rolls on and I believe this site lets more go than most out there.
I have been known to ‘arc’ up at what I consider to be stupid, uninformed or just plain wrong. Generally, all is forgotten in a couple of threads and we all get back to rugby.

'Sh-t, this guy is nuts': Eddie Jones has a book out and of course it contains some absolute gold

It’s alright for you in your comfortable Welsh village. I have to face my Aussie mates and old pommie friends laughing at me as a Wallaby supporter.

Coach's Corner: How European-based players impacted the Wallabies

Pete, you and I agree on this issue and a big issue it is.
You cannot have a system where the coach writes about decisions that affected the game and there appears to be no reprimand, no demotion with additional training and you get a nice note, then get similar treatment in following games. I thought Adamson was out of his depth and was playing the officious ref trying to prove a point.
Rennie disciplines, demotes or trains guys who make mistakes, I wonder what WR do with refs, tmo’s?
When I was in Sydney ref’s you’d get a written review and suggestions for improvement, if that didn’t happen you’d go down a level.

Wallabies warned as Rennie apologises for ref rant

Eddie makes you laugh right up until he doesn’t, then watch out!

'Sh-t, this guy is nuts': Eddie Jones has a book out and of course it contains some absolute gold

Pete, I suspect Rennie thought ‘bugger it, there are some officials who are not up to standard and WR will do nothing about it, so I will add my log to the fire’.
They will continue doing nothing about improving things and I guess it saved them from sending Rennie another apology and forgetting it.
I thought an apology meant someone stuffed up and will not do it again, not a stupid emotional statement nobody takes seriously.
BTW Pete, what did you reckon about Adamson?

Or depress?

Coach's Corner: How European-based players impacted the Wallabies

Nick, I know you are/were a supporter of him. My remaining image of him is standing to attention on the side of the breakdown – less of a pillar of society more a post….

Coach's Corner: How European-based players impacted the Wallabies

Don, agree with all bar one aspect regarding Simmons and that is he studiously avoided the breakdown! I had him as expendable as I consider the breakdown to be critical to the game and a locks job. Basically, he let down locks of the past who did the hard work all day. Glad he’s gone.

Coach's Corner: How European-based players impacted the Wallabies

Nick, I too am surprised at the improvement in Rodda. Very pleasing indeed and I consider him the better of the two.

Coach's Corner: How European-based players impacted the Wallabies

Nick et al, sounds like the perfect country for a Wallaby supporter over Christmas following the NH tour from hell, survival will be a test!

Why it's not all doom and gloom for the Wallabies

DA, the proof of the truth you speak is the fact that the police didn’t bother to attend any of those ‘peaceful’ ‘Kumbayah’ BLM sessions.

Australia gets 'preferred candidate' status to host 2027 Rugby World Cup

ACE, a good mate of mine was robbed, stripped naked and murdered then left at the side of the road in SA in 1972!!! – all that proves is that evil doesn’t only reside in nations like USA, SA or any nation. In Australia, we had Ivan Mallat.

Thanks Terry, my mistake I misread an article.

Larkham to return as Brumbies coach in 2023

Looking forward to seeing what he will bring to Tonga.
The Islander boys have played well all over the world and there is hardly a top 10 nation that doesn’t have at least one of them playing for them.
Time for them to be able to put a decent national team together that represents all of their players around the world. If it’s good enough for SA to pick up their players from around the world, then it’s good enough for PI players. BTW I do realise that this has to do with national representation but it could open doors for PI nations.

'I'm sure there'll be controversy': Kefu reveals Israel Folau's Test plans after World Rugby rule change

Good to hear Biltong. A great country with amazing natural beauty and wealth, hope your politics there can improve and the population get to enjoy what nature has given you.
BTW you are not the only country to be screwed by the Rugby Unions politics.

Australia gets 'preferred candidate' status to host 2027 Rugby World Cup

Just had a quick look at Munster under Larkham and pretty good although I didn’t see the tables over his time and obviously affected by Covid.
I think he will be a good asset to the Australian rugby coaching ranks.

Larkham to return as Brumbies coach in 2023

Biltong, what’s SA like these days? All I read about is rioting, destruction of shopping malls and increased crime rates. Could these headlines have affected that decision?
I spent 3 years there in the early 70’s and have fond memories of Durban and particularly Cape Town.

Australia gets 'preferred candidate' status to host 2027 Rugby World Cup

Yes its odd and not the only thing odd about the rules of rugby.
I agree with your play the whistle and exit the TMO’s. I would go back to the ref as the only arbiter but you have to live with his errors. We all make them but most not as bad as that one from Adamson.
Did you follow my instructions Wally?
