“Easier to start at 12/15…..” Where does that put Harrison? who has ONLY played 10 and performed well, in under 20s mostly admittedly…? He certainly played very well with Lolesio next to him in the 20s works championships last year! There’s no easing him in from the 12 or 15 position. Is that going to be to his detriment?
Can Noah Lolesio be Australia’s triple threat at No.10?
Reminds me of Pat Cummins…
Reds dealt massive blow as Jordan Petaia ruled out for the Super Rugby season
“If you’re old enough you’re good enough” is not always the best approach for the caretakers of these young players to take.

I second this. Beale at 12. Maddox in.
Super Rugby Round 3 teams: Petaia ruled out in injury blow for Reds
Fair call – ok. Didn’t expect to make the finals of course but you know…. RightO I’ll hang tough.
Super Rugby Round 3 teams: Petaia ruled out in injury blow for Reds
My thoughts as well regarding cam Clark. He played outside Centre for a lot of North season last year. I’m quite concerned about this weekend. Three losses in a row will just break me.

Newsome to OC? Has he ever played there? What sort of defender is he in that channel? Curious.

It’s tricky throwing Will Harrison in for such a big game but also might be the making of him. I think it’d be a big mistake putting Beale in at 10. And whilst he was decidedly average in the trial I think having him whispering in Harrison’s ear from 15 would take some pressure of the 20 yr old. Tough first round for sure. Hopefully Bell will be reserve prop. He looks tops.
What do we know about the Australian conference ahead of Round 1?
Is Nawa seriously an option as a play maker? I’m yet to see him show any distribution game. He definitely is a fine athlete and I’d take a point on him. Even over Beale at full back, who was pretty average in that trial. I would give him a go but can’t see him at 5/8.

$1000?????!!!! Give it the fire brigade and go to the pub!

but imagine if Israel had said this:

Great article. Moving on now…?
The last column about Israel Folau ever, I promise
The money is one thing. Go away money (i’d written something more fruity) is one thing. To apologise is another altogether. They’ve done more damage than any Instagram post could have. We need our institutions to stand up to this stuff but this will just give ammunition to the religious right. Sport needs to be inclusive and RA have just given the middle finger to the LGBTI community.
Martin: Folau settlement like a Christmas present

“…Take charge of the Wallabies until the end of 2023…”????!!
2 year deal with a 2 year option surely? Or is that still maybe the case. I know he needs time but he also hasn’t had any international experience. Oh well – I hope he’s right. Nathan Grey should go but I agree the other assistants may deserve another year under a different coach.
Dave Rennie inks deal to become next Wallabies coach
Gotta be either of the Wallabies teams. Always behind the eight ball interms if depth and playing numbers. Easily the Wallabies. 😁 👍
Who is the best World Cup winning team ever?
My ideal result is it to be tied after extra extra time. goal shoot-out has Pollard and Farrell snap one of the posts at either end leaving the game still tied. Then both teams realise all their sisters have arrived to watch and they have to kiss. They then cut the trophy in half so no beer can be drunk.
Underdogs maybe, but the Springboks have what it takes to topple England
Would not be surprised if The Rassamataz Man sends a Thor-load of traffic through George Ford’s channel…

Does Rassie remind anyone else, a little bit, of David Hasselhoff?
The Wrap: Do the World Cup semis tell the truth about the final?
“‘blow up’ Australian rugby?”
Guilty as charged. I ‘knee-jerked’ this response after last week but of course you’re right, now the dust has settled. I’m still not convinced that no-one needs to go though. If they can’t get their heads around an INDEPENDENT review then maybe someone does need to go.
Week 5 World Cup reflections: Entering the war zone
I’m not so sure. Obviously this is against the odds, but as you Spiro says –
South Africa have a “chequered history against Wales”. If Wales can sort out their backyard I think they’re could stymy the Saffas. You never know. I think the AB/England is a simpler equation. England bank on opposition mistakes and the ABs won’t give them those like the Wallabies did. And the All Blacks set piece will hold firm.
Why we'll have an all-southern hemisphere World Cup final
Pretty much right except the Folau stuff. But let’s not go there. Every single person involved in Rugby Australia possible with the exception of Scott Johnson should be lead out the door.
Michael Cheika's failure at the World Cup is Rugby Australia's, too
Got in another Sun Tzu reference though.

Nic you’re amazing not only with your analysis, but that you find the time to reply to pretty much everyone! Thank you!
