Where did you get that from? No way is Cronk faster over 100, half backs never are. Addo Carr is definitely the quickest, including suli.

Eleven talking points from NRL Round 8

That’s a big call but I’m hoping you’ll be right. I think that our defence will be too strong and if our attack is on then our pace out wide (especially JAC) will be too much for saints (or any team). That said it’s going to be one hell of a game!

Another tough test awaits the Dragons this Sunday

I think that the tv commentators should talk the game Up less when it comes to them proclaiming a great crowd in attendance when we know that it is not. 64 games played this year – 2 sell outs – one in Penrith and one in Melbourne. Sydney clubs playing at suburban grounds should sell out nearly every match but they have trouble selling out even one!

Hashtag provides good advice

I hope nsw don’t pick him, but why no mention of Curtis Scott? Great young player. Second best centre in the game behind chambers and a superstar in the making. I’m happy for him to play only for Melbourne and not risk injury playing SOO.

Freddy’s NSW backline conundrum

So what? League crowds are relatively stable – rising slightly – in Australia (and NZ) while rugby crowds are in freefall in both countries. Warriors outdraw the blues and every Sydney league team out draws the Waratahs, who used to draw 25k plus per game 10 years ago – now 10k. Then there’s Melbourne. Storm averaging 17k and rebels about 8k.

The rugby league talent machine is in overdrive

Let’s be honest, nice bloke though he may be, Barrett is not an NRL standard coach. Manly should dump him along with a number of their underperforming players. Manly also screwed up signing DCE for 10 years at a million plus per year. On his money he should be taking games by the scruff of the neck and winning quite a few off his own bat. But he can’t or won’t do it. He’s good when their winning a match well but that’s about it.

Trent Barrett has been sold a lemon

I actually think the saints Illawarra merger has worked well. The saints are essentially the saints and the crowds at Wollongong are fantastic at a beautiful boutique venue – I’ve never been there but it looks great on tv.

How rugby league administrators have abused loyal fans over the years

Yes, enjoy watching him run the footy! That first try last night was special, hit on the legs three times but maintained his balance and his speed all the way to the corner! NSW is mad if he doesn’t play origin this year – hope he doesn’t – keep him fit for storm and it would be better for the maroons!

Anzac Day clash a one-sided affair for Storm

I agree with you, except:

It’s did not done (I hear footy players do this all the time and it drives me crazy); and

It’s too early to say if storm is not “all powerful”,

Sunday week could be very telling.

Can’t wait for the match!

Anzac Day clash a one-sided affair for Storm

More fool the dogs for punting graham to go for woods. Give me graham over woods every time. Whoever woods has played for it’s always been in the bottom half. Overrated and overweight and not strong enough.

James Graham was lucky to be punted by the Dogs

About 30o tickets still left!

Why Storm vs Warriors will be an Anzac Day classic

I agree with those sentiments. Billy is a lot like Roger Federer with this late career Renaissance after an injury break.

Billy and Benji Magic

Good comment. However, I disagree about the wrestle. What is tackling if it’s not wrestling? I am perplexed by the constant whining by so many about “wrestling”.

In a different league

Well said but your team signed matt lodge!

Tell your story walking Israel. The NRL doesn’t want your crap

This is an unfair comment. Izzy had his say. Tim Gore is entitled to have his too. And tims article is based more on fact than Izzys lazy thoughtless tweet.

Tell your story walking Israel. The NRL doesn’t want your crap

Very good article, Tim. I fail to see how this “man” can purport to know what is simply impossible to know based only on his interpretation of the bible and then vilify about 10 per cent of our population based on nothing more than that. I agree, he’s not worth the trouble and, lest there be any doubt, rugby league has moved passed him now. He does not have the speed or agility or athleticism to mix it with the new breed like addo-Carr, vunivalu, tuivasa sheck et al. He’s a solid centre at best worth about 300k a year, not enough for a mercenary like folou who was happy to accept millions from afl to be used as a pawn in what was nothing more than a brazen publicity stunt. Stick with rugger and your church Izzy the NRL can well do without you.

Not just Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide too. And excellent in Sydney as well.

The ideal model for NRL expansion is relocation

League crowds are underwhelming compared to AFL but much better than soccer crowds, which are in freefall.

The ideal model for NRL expansion is relocation

No need for an asterix. Storm has won 5 premierships.

How the NRL's mighty have fallen

Yes, rugby league is prospering down here due to a first rate football team and club and support from the government in exchange for the NRL bringing big games here. Kudos to all.

How the NRL's mighty have fallen

Yes, let’s resume normal transmission and see an Anzac Day massacre of that other warriors team, the one that doesn’t play for 80 minutes.

How the NRL's mighty have fallen

Crowd will be the same for Anzac Day games. Probably won’t make much difference to any of the roosters’ crowds, which are well below par in any event.

Anzac Day footy set for move to Sydney Cricket Ground

You’re right. Compare him to james graham at saints. Why on earth would Canterbury, or any club, choose woods (mediocre and lazy) over graham, who always gives 100 per cent and is the toughest player in the game, even though he is not particularly big.

Woods, Teddy and Moses have made their beds. Now lie in them

This should have occurred before this contract was registered. NRL is reactive never proactive.

NRL demands Lodge must compensate victims

Exactly, he has always been a mercenary. Why else would he have let himself be used by the AFL as a publicity stunt?

Does league need Izzy Folau back?
