You’re tired of the never looked the part view? Mate, it’s about scoring runs and getting starts is not good enough. I agree that he has a bit of style but he ain’t Ponting, especially in the field and he never will be.

He’s not scoring in the Shield at the moment so forget about him. Let him have a season in county cricket where he can score a lazy 1,000 runs, get his confidence back and then see how he goes at the start of next season. If he is up to it he’ll respond to being dropped and become a better player. If I was coaching I would get him to stop hitting good shots straight to fielders, learn to rotate the strike and become more athletic in the field.

I won't captain Test team, says Ponting

You must be joking. Khawaja has failed miserably since going back to the Shield and never really looked the part in the Test side. Added to his mediocre batting is his average fielding.

Ponting’s record speaks for itself. So he’s not as good as 5-10 years ago. Still, if he played with his little toe he would be better than Khawaja.

Good on you, Brendon. Spot on!

Warner, Lee, and McKay combine for Australian series win

What has gone wrong with people that they need the instant gratification of a result (meaning a win or loss) in every competition game. You get a competition point for a draw – so what? Better than this inane bs of a field-goal-a-thon. That’s so exciting.

Why does rugby league need to tamper with things? For 95 years we accepted draws.

A solution to NRL's golden point problem

They’ll do something about the shreeking when people refuse to watch these players. If the public boycott them, then the officials will be forced into action.

Women's tennis screamers have more bark than slice

We certainly need a visionary as leader of the game. Gallop is not the man. He may have been a steady pair of hands to keep the ship afloat but now is the time to take on the AFL juggernaught.

There are plenty of young kids who would love to play the game if there was a coordinated grassroots system. It’s been all over the place since the schism, particularly in NSW. Please get the IC up and running. We need it NOW!!

All signs point to a golden era for rugby league

If I was Siddle it would be the inane one-day comp that I would be hoping to be “left out” of.

Siddle rejects rotation as selectors fiddle

David,

I would imagine those that believe Tendulkar is better than the Don are mad Indian supporters who think Sachin is God. Are there any Aussie scribes that are pushing his case?

I remember as a kid in the early 80s hearing Ian Botham claim that Viv Richards was better than Bradman due to the amount of different cricket Viv played as compared to Bradman. Is that the Tendulkarites’ argument?

The Don and daylight

Totally agree with you Matt F about Lyon. There is nobody else in the State ranks that is a better alternative.

I think he has been a bit more reticent to flight the ball against the Indians and he has also been bowling too straight. Against NZ he was bowling outside off stump with loop and bowled a few guys through the gate. There were signs in the Indian second innings that he was going back to this line of attack.

I don’t think we’ll see him in Perth but we will in Adelaide.

Sidelights to the Clarke and Clarke show

This refusal to use the DRS is all about India’s willingness to use their power at all costs.

I, personally, have no problem with not using technology. However, I am not of the view that India (or, the BCCI to be more precise) have altruistic reasons for refusing to use the DRS.

The ICC should, independently, have the power to decide how international cricket is run. If nine out of ten Test playing nations want to use the DRS then it should be used for all series. And the ICC should pay for its use and ensure that the best technology is used.

DRS is there, or it's not. Why the fuss?

An article in the Danny Weidler tradition. All froth and bubble.

Sonny Bill Williams would be a steal at $800,000 a season
