yep def been favoured by the umps as indisputably proved by the free kick counts— qual final brissy 17 tiges 11 —- semi saints 15 tiges 19 —- prelim port 24 tiges 19 …. yep cant argue with those numbers, def bias happening there

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Grand final

fair enough, must say im a bit nervous (but always am for the big games), if tiges play well we have a good chance, but same goes for cats, hopefully a great contest, with tiges winning !

Grand final forecast: Richmond versus Geelong

port beat cats ………….
tiges beat port…………
means nothing, same as your statement………. same as the last time they played tiges won easy, means nothing

Grand final forecast: Richmond versus Geelong

for a bloke who claims not to care u spend hell of a lot of time biat*ching & moaning about it … why dont go away & follow something that will please your miserable soul

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Grand final

now that u put it that way , fair point

Martin versus Dangerfield may decide the flag

she seemed to have a thing for bruce didnt she. wonder how it all worked out for her, seem to recall she was a stripper by trade, prob the biggest audience she ever got im tipping

Five clutch grand final moments that have been unfairly forgotten

up there with the ‘nick davis come to save us’ banner at that game

Five clutch grand final moments that have been unfairly forgotten

will never forget helens streak across the ‘g, im a tiges man but thought carlton were actually on top when it happened, recall the dominator johnson going off his dial at her telling her to get off

Five clutch grand final moments that have been unfairly forgotten

reckon COLA was an afl scam to help the swannies in whats an important market for the afl … if they were fair dinkum they wouldve looked at cost of living in melb or perth compared to adelaide etc

AFL Trades: Jeremy Cameron to Geelong will be a history-maker

bugger that neil, after last weeks heartstopper im happy if we win by 10 goals, stuff aesthetics, theres a flag at stake here !

Geelong's recent record against Richmond is poor, so how can they turn it around on Saturday?

reckon u would play the big tomahawk on 1 leg before ratagulea

Geelong's recent record against Richmond is poor, so how can they turn it around on Saturday?

wouldve thought most bookies that manage to stay in business would have a clue about what odds to give, maybe they know something u dont ?

Martin versus Dangerfield may decide the flag

i know youre a bit obtuse but obviously i was speaking in a footy sense, but i suspect u knew that. btw , how did u rate his game in the prelim ?

Martin versus Dangerfield may decide the flag

maybe a lot of peoples view on him stems from the fact he isnt a massive accumulator, (not something the tiges seem to fussed about having) thats not the role his team requires of him, he is an impact player, & is probably one of the best in the comp at it (if not the best). that said, he plays where the situation requires, eg last week against port it was a game of territory, so he played in the guts & was part of a midfield that dominated clearances in the 2nd half, i suggest if u look at that match he was in it all game, & was a big part of why we won. sure some of the commentators blow their wad every time he does something but theres a reason why he gets all these accolades, including the ones from coaches & opposition players.

Martin versus Dangerfield may decide the flag

reckon we could squeeze him in somewhere

Martin versus Dangerfield may decide the flag

suggest u dont hold your breath waiting brazil, serious case of dusty hatred (read that as jealousy) going on

Martin versus Dangerfield may decide the flag

ask don about his kicking, sub 50% efficiency every time apparently, jeez he doesnt even kick well, skirts packs, throws the ball, pushes in the back, relies on the work of others … prob in danger of being dropped this week going on what all these eminent judges of footy ability have to say about him

Martin versus Dangerfield may decide the flag

cant say i like the idea of it, but we are almost there anyway with some of the adjudication re deliberate, they seemed absolutely red hot on it frid night, pretty tough considering the conditions….. quite like having ruck contests in the game too, that rule would do away with a lot of them …. im prob a bit biased towards the status quo too as an old backman, def thought of the boundary line as a friend

Five talking points from the AFL preliminary finals

good article there janakan, some great observations. with your prompting now recall the buchanon goal & as i always liked him as a player remember rookes’ efforts in ‘ 09, but cant recall the others at all

Five clutch grand final moments that have been unfairly forgotten

end of the day its the opinion of the voting panel, just as what u & i have to say on it is only an opinion, its not something u can quantify … agree the ‘stars’ get noticed more & so poll better … bit like cyril in ’15 i reckon

Martin versus Dangerfield may decide the flag

yeah dusty only had 29 touches, 22 i think contested, 2 goals & a direct hand in at least 1 ….. he had some mates but he played a cracker

Martin versus Dangerfield may decide the flag

if only the head honchos at freo would listen to the sage advice on offer they might have snagged a few flags by now ………

Martin versus Dangerfield may decide the flag

guess this weekend will provide some answers. no doubt danger is an absolute gun… theyre different type of players in my view so not sure there is a direct comparison to be made…… im quietly confident (& fervently hoping) that dusty plays well, he has a history of performing well in big games, hope he can deliver again

Martin versus Dangerfield may decide the flag

about as predictable as the sunrise this morning ………

Martin versus Dangerfield may decide the flag

certainly that can happen, but i dont think it applies to events on friday night (tiges were the ones with 6 more shots anyway)…. end of the day its about outscoring your opponent so if u lose u prob werent the better team …. the old footy truism still applies, bad kicking is bad footy … who won the flag in ’98 & ’08 ? those years are remembered as the years crows & hawks won the flag, some may recall that north & cats blew their opportunities & were then over run, but that counts for nothing ……… and i disagree that port had the rough end of the stick with the umps, despite the uneven free kick count thought the umps were ok in a game that mustve been extremely difficult to umpire (& i agree the frees count means stuff all, tiges usually lose the count, so i see it as a byproduct of the way we play)…. the deliberate against hartlett was blindingly obvious, he had 2 teammates he could easily have pushed the ball towards, but he belted it straight out. on a night the umps were red hot on deliberate that one was the least contentious easy, shame he panicked & did it near the goals & port paid a heavy price
