well it used to be the player that got in and got the footy was favoured too, now it seems lots of people want the player that got there second (ie the tackler) to be rewarded. if there was no prior opportunity to dispose of the ball the tacklers reward is that they stopped the bloke with the footy, they shouldnt need a free kick just for laying a tackle

i wonder what the umpire would do if a player were to do a spot of ‘self abusing’ on the field ? is there even a rule about such an action ?

I don’t find it odd that Victorians are complaining … im sure we do our share (whining about something that didnt go the way someone wanted it to seems to be mostly what gets posted on this forum), but to suggest its just a vic thing is laughable, the moaning about this weekends results coming from out west is prob about 80% of the total posts the last coupla days, never seen anything like it, well at least since the last time something didnt go their way 😛 😂

ah don yet another fabrication .. afl CEO Andrew Dillon said the dissent call was correct but the non call on the touched was incorrect but was only obvious on slo mo replay … but keep on whining, its a good laugh for all reasonable footy fans on here

apart from its rugby & soccer roots i think our game was also influenced by the game a young tom wills observed the local tribesmen playing around the warrnambool/portland area so we perhaps need to give some credit to the indigenous people here in vic also … i think some of those with the “ours not yours” syndrome are just having a bit of giggle at the expense of some fellow forum contributors who may be a bit touchy about us dastardly viccos … knew about the check side being a south oz thing but interesting about the drop punt, never knew that … dont forget the flick pass (or should we now say crow throw?), another good south oz invention

gee and there i was thinking they retired cause after long successful careers they were physically past their peak & it was time to make room for the younger blokes, thats what happens with athletes ….. mcqualter wasnt a senior coach when he walked he was an unsuccessful applicant for the coaching gig, yeah hardwick did walk, u got 1 out 4 right, remarkably way better than your usual strike rate i congratulate u
