Probably agree, it wasn’t the GF I was particularly hoping for either. A repeat of 2004 I thought would have been the most entertaining for the neutral. When these two sides played off about 6 weeks ago it was a low scoring slog and i’m suspecting that will be the case again.
As for who wins? It doesn’t really bother me, I have no love but also no hatred for either side, just want a more entertaining game than the last time these two teams played off. Gut feel for me says the Tigers get it done.

Five talking points from the AFL preliminary finals

The irony of West Coast fans having a crack at rival teams fans 😂

Magpies win thrilling elimination final over West Coast

Yeah it was really original and intelligent, just like all the nuffies that pull out the old “what ship has never docked in Fremantle” joke.
Get some new material.

Just proving my point here Eagles Man, keep going Champ…

Magpies win thrilling elimination final over West Coast

It’s funny that you say that, considering every single WCE fan supported Hawthorn back in 2013. We owe no loyalty to you. We’ll be back in the finals next season I reckon, good young side, good young coach. I’d be watching your back if I were you.

Thanks WCE you’ve just proven my point for me. Hope you enjoyed the game last night, I certainly did.

On behalf of every Freo fan! WE LOVE YOU COLLINGWOOD!

Magpies win thrilling elimination final over West Coast

As I made clear, I’m not having a crack at the good folks on the Roar, but rather the general public here in Perth and the media as well. You’d think only one team exists in this town the way they carry on. No other club is more arrogant or more self absorbed than West Coast.

Good choice of WAFL clubs! I hope Souths lose this weekend!

Im with ya Liam, I think West Coast win but there’s no way I’ll be supporting them.
They were so arrogant when they won last time. It’s anyone but Eagles for me. (Apologies to the good WCE supporting folk on here, it isn’t you guys, it’s other fans).

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Finals Week 1

It obviously was a mistake, although in fairness we played in the wet a lot and I think that did have quite a bearing on Longmuir’s decision.
Hopefully the time out has made Hogan keener and hungrier.

Six talking points from AFL Rounds 16 and 17

Yeah, I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. He’s still had teething problems up front trying to rid the club of the Lyon factor. The Richmond and Carlton games probably good examples of this.
It’s his next challenge, he can get the side scoring freely against North Melbourne but can he do it against the better sides? I’m certainly backing him in.

Six talking points from AFL Rounds 16 and 17

I’d probably like us against Melb, StK and GC on current form. Doggies and Eagles tough.
We may still be looking back at that Carlton game even then as the real big missed opportunity.

Six talking points from AFL Rounds 16 and 17

West Coast fans in Perth after the 2006 and 2018 flags were pretty insufferable too.

Six talking points from AFL Rounds 16 and 17

Yep we lost it. Most Freo fans wouldn’t agree with Don. I think it was a missed opportunity, but at the end of the day we blew it well before that final passage of play by only kicking one goal in the second half.

Six talking points from AFL Rounds 16 and 17

Yeah I’d give it to Hinkley, Port is a bit of a blueprint I hope we follow. Finished in a similar position to where Freo will probably finish this year, being lead by a lot of young kids, obviously a very different game style but it shows when the kids click a rapid rise up the ladder isn’t impossible.

Six talking points from AFL Rounds 16 and 17

Nah, I liked it. Murphy and Simpson two of his best mates. Well done from Adelaide.

Six talking points from AFL Rounds 16 and 17

We don’t know who they would have had to play twice… Obviously West Coast would have been one tricky game (although not impossible with their injuries) but I’d imagine the way the fixturing had worked, the other sides would have been more teams around us. And when you look at most teams around us currently we are playing far better footy than most of them.
It’s all hypothetical of course…

Six talking points from AFL Rounds 16 and 17

I mean it’s hard to know if a different coach would have done any better? You’ve had your fair share of injuries (as has everyone) but a few of the decisions being made have been a bit odd (Brown being dropped for example).
I think you have to stick with Shaw for at least one more year before you can conclusively say he is no good.

Six talking points from AFL Rounds 16 and 17

It’s interesting, in hindsight do you feel like Shaw was a bit of a rushed decision as at the end of last season he brought some great results initially but was it ever sustainable long term?

Six talking points from AFL Rounds 16 and 17

Yep, two weeks of quarantine would look far more palatable for the boys if they came off a winning finish. Hopefully they can have an enjoyable (whilst still sensible) mad monday celebration before they are all stuck at home for 2 weeks, they deserve it!

Six talking points from AFL Rounds 16 and 17

I can’t understand why Cameron isn’t under more pressure, with the talent they have, anything less than top 4 is a massive failure, let alone top 8.
Dropping Cogs was dumb, yeah he’s out of form, but in a crunch game you back in your skipper over debuting another youngster.

Six talking points from AFL Rounds 16 and 17

Some teams really look like they want 2020 to come to an end but I really wish right now that we had a full 22 game season, we’d be a real finals sniff. Next week will be tough v the Doggies but if we somehow manage to get up, I really do think we will look back at that heartbreaking Carlton loss as the loss that cost us finals.
That and the 4 point loss to Essendon way back in round 1 look like biting us back.
Regardless, i’m really happy with how the boys are playing. J-Lo is starting to turn the tide. Getting Hogan right may just be his biggest coup yet, a functioning forward line of Tabs, Hogan, Lobb, Walters, Schultz and either Freddy or Henry looks like a far more palatable lineup than anything we’ve had to offer since Pavlich retired.

Six talking points from AFL Rounds 16 and 17

Yep, noted, Some would have been a better word.
Well played tonight, great performance.

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Rounds 17

That’s nice, it seems a lot more WCE fans have Freo as their second favourite than the other way round… Probably because you’ve had more success and pity us 😂
