Spot on Greg. I met a footballer recently worshipped by everyone both for his on field abilities and off field “persona” but turned out to be a real sleaze in person.
Its ok to judge Clarke on his on field form but you people need to seriously get a life if you’re going to judge someone based on gossip mags and a few minutes of him talking at a press conference after every game. Its petty. At the end of the day we dont have a lot of options and imo Clarke is best fit for the job at the moment

Agree completely Oikee. The reason SOO is the pinnacle of the game is because it showcases the best players in the game. Its more than just state rivalry. Right now some of our best players have backgrounds in other countries other than Australia and Im sure eventually the game would like to expand into states like WA and SA. The game needs to move with the times

I agree with that but I’d go a step further and just make all players eligible for SOO no matter what background or where they live as long as they’re in the NRL. In fact I reckon it’d be more exiting coz of the likes of Marshall and Vatuvei being eligible to play.

Exactly. AFL fans in Sydney are very lucky. The storm probably get 2 or 3 games a year at a decent time down there in Melbourne

Agree, the roosters vs tigers match was EPIC. I normally enjoy a bit of union coz of my poly background but I couldnt stop watching that game. It was awesome

You guys should watch some of those American cheerleaders. They are amazing with a lot of the tricks they do. Our cheerleaders are just cringe worthy and try-hard compared to theirs. It is embarrassing. I actually dont mind that they’re part of the game but I just wish they’d be a bit more creative with they’re dancing.

If it doesnt work just google “Cool mint” and check out some of their videos. They’re a teenage female dance crew out of japan. It still might be too sexy for some but at least its very creative and clever at the same time. I wish our cheerleaders would think a bit more outside the box with their dancing

Im not 100% sure but I believe with the double try rule, kicks are not allowed.
Not a fan of all the other changes.
I wish they’d just fix some of the stuff we already have in our game instead of introducing new things, eg. the scrums, either introduce a rule that makes it more competitive or get rid of them all together. I would’ve preferred to see that trialled in the game

Well Masters does live in melbourne so he’s probably exposed to both codes a lot more than other journos. He’s like steve price or richard freedman up here in sydney both former melbournians and they preach afl and bag rugby league every chance they get on their sydney radio shows.

Essendon trained with the parramatta eels a few years back, it had nothing to do with jarryd hayne and trying to sway him over.
I think GWS did approach him. If GC can throw $1million on an nrl player thats only played 1 year of aussie rules, I wouldnt rule it past them.

Redb, I dont know who you hang out with in sydney but quiet a lot of sydneysiders I know hate their own city, complain about traffic, public transport and a million other things in sydney. A lot of my friends wish they were in other parts of australia(me included).

Sydney is more diverse and accepting of other codes though. I reckon all 4 main football codes AFL, soccer, rugby union and league all have a pretty large fanbase in sydney whereas melbourne only support other sports in mass numbers if it isnt up against afl(just ask the melbourne storm)
