I like your passion for the sport but you have a lot to learn about Australian boxing. It ain’t just all about Jeff Horn v Tim Tszyu. Mundine v Zerafa is signed an awaiting a date an venue. The Moloney Twins are the future of the sport, so good acknowledge there.
Ever heard of Susie Q Ramadan, Lauryn Eagle, Chernaka Johnson or Louisa Hawton??? Bet u haven’t. All are world champions with the IBA and Hawton is the WBC interim Atomweight champion. These ladies get zero attention despite their achievements.

WOW! I think the only lacklustre thing about this article John, is the fact that you left so much out. No mention on the retirement of Aussie boxing’s saviour in Anthony Mundine or his final opponent, John Wayne Parr. Sam Soliman also retired this year.
Lauryn Eagle earnt a world title (IBA Super-featherweight) this year and Tayla Harris earnt to Australian titles (Middleweight and Super-Welterweight) so she is going great guns.
It’s not all just about Tim Tszyu and Jeff Horn you know.

Garbage just garbage, yet again I lose faith in the nrl. How many times does this game have to Turkey slap the fans before we stop watching??? Enough is Enough, the only thing that makes this even remotely acceptable is to witness the best halfback ever ( maybe with the exception of Langer) Cooper Cronk with his third in a row and back to back with the same team and cement his immortal status. But that barely justifies the blantant incompetence of the referee or the administration for ensuring that the camera crew didn’t record the evidence, I thought the sandpaper scandal was bad. Who knows maybe Cronk will be the first man in history to hand back two titles with different clubs. But I doubt it.

. If you need any more evidence (with the exception of the 2004 grand final) that the Nrl is corrupt, here it is. Ref making a call that wouldn’t fly in an under 12’s game as I’m pretty sure the parents watching it would riot. A token Clive Churchill medal given to the opposition player whose name they drew out of a hat just to save face and the BS commentary team trying to gloss it all over. Since the introduction of the NRL in 1998 the game of Rugby League gets worse every year. Teams been given a BS call to win a grand final ( you could even put the Storm’s 1999 win into the mix) like the 04, 06 and certainly tonight’s gf. Technology that just contradicts everything that led happening on the field. A different drug, sex or salary cap scandal every other week off field and the administration’s refusal to expand to the game to new yet old areas ( Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane 2) in an attempt to strengthen the game.
I’m done with the Nrl, I’m focus on combat sports now, atleast boxing can admit its own corruption

I would have to agree with Con here, I’m sure the Rabbitohs fam weren’t that happy with the result, nor any of the other teams fans, just raiders fans. Plus as a Storm fan I not sure that I’m that happy that the Green machine is in the final as they have bested is not once but twice

Wow, didn’t see that coming!! But then again if you break it down it wasn’t that surprising. Horn hasn’t fought since June of last year, can’t count that Mundine fight, so 13 years of ring rust, certainly was a factor. He has never fought a middleweight before and Zerafa has had four fights in the inactive period of Horn.
Very disappointed that John Coomer or someone else didn’t cover the fight, and only one article???? Was it going on there. I saw a heap of boxing writers on this site, Ben, eddyboi, Jason Andrews, Steveo and BigJ. What happened to those guys???.

DWZ scored a try but consistency says it wasn't one
really happy that the boys got thier final win own home turf, not a bad game in the end. No riot needed to tear the stadium apart (another positive for the night). Hit 103fm had a mascot race before the game, funniest thing ever watching one of the ladies i do comedy shows with try to run in flippers and a shark suit, hilarious.

My prediiton for the evening, if the Cowboys lose, expect the public of Townsville to riot and tear the stadium apart. Bulldogs fans don’t bother turning up tonight, things may (and probably will) get very ugly if your team wins tonight. Townsville has had a really $hit year with the floods, business closers and the Cowboys having another terrible season and the last thing we wont is to be beaten by the likes of the Bulldogs.
