He really wants to be the NRL doesn’t he? Proposing a draft is straight out of their playbook.

RA chief's radical draft plan to revive Super Rugby, including Wallabies free to play for NZ clubs

“In this new Code War era, it was a free hit for the NRL”

New code war era? Is that wishful thinking Christie?

COMMENT: Plenty of excuses but no excuse as Wallabies look like a squad of randoms playing park footy

Well wouldn’t a generational talent be better than Tedesco?

'Back home': 19-year-old 'freak' NRL star signs multimillion deal with Rugby Australia

He’s got the world on his shoulders whether he likes it or not. RA have bet the house on this kid and will ride him home hard to get their pay off

'Back home': 19-year-old 'freak' NRL star signs multimillion deal with Rugby Australia

He’s very very good, not sure he’s a generational talent. His game has flaws which is why Robbo has him down the pecking order at fullback. RA has just spent money they don’t have on a player that’s yet to prove himself

You don’t worry at all about his passing game? Everytime he’s played FB in Union he hasn’t passed, whether it’s for Samoa or East’s. It’s a small problem in league but a huge issue in union where he can get really isolated and the momentum can shift so quickly.

“Good luck to any code who wants to use rugby league to access talent. What I love about this game is how many talented athletes we keep producing.”

Good effort finding positives, but when the chiefs turned it on the Rebels were nowhere near their level. I agree Gordon was ok but at some point we have to admit that we just aren’t at their level.

'Significant': Hodge's injury adds to Rebels' pain as Gordon, Wilkin shine again

I just heard the Rooster’s crowd, perhaps I spoke to soon

RA open to Super salary cap increase, NRL stars, but says 'focus' is on grassroots as CBA announced

It will be interesting to see if the Tahs can hold onto those crowd numbers until the end of the year, as they blew both the Roosters and Sydney FC out of the water.

The silence of South’s is interesting though, McLennan, Jones and Doran are desperately trying to draw them out yet they are quietly going about their business. Murray is their captain and the face of their organisation I don’t think they will let him go without a fight.

Rugby News: NRL gun leaves door ajar to join Wallabies ahead of RWC, Samu set for French move

Parramatta sation is about a 20 minute walk and they are super close to finshing the light rail, there is also a light of room around the stadium for activities especially if you factor in the Leagues club and its outdoor carpark. The problem is the Sydney Rugby public have shown that they just are not willing to travel west, and the Tahs and Wallabies proved this time and time agin. I don’t think you would get a much better crowd than Melbourne in Parra.

Wet fingers and guesstimations have Reds and Rebels with the most Australian upside

Great Story, I would love to see better collaboration here between the codes and women allowed to swith between the two like some of the sevens players do. Unfortunately there isn’t much point as they do not get paid to play 15’s in Australia.

Ada and Canada show peace can exist between the rugby codes

They need to stop being shy of recruiting in public schools, at present some of our most talented athletes are from the lowest socio economic areas of Sydney. Yet the Rugby clubs refuse to sign them.

NRL grand final week proves rugby’s failings in the west

No my article is about how popular and passionate the NRL is in these two vibrant and growing areas of Sydney and how much of a shame it is of Rugby Union, NSW and RA that they have little or no presence out here. The playing talent is immense, the government investment strong and the fans passionate. Rugby Australia has chosen to ignore it at their great shame.

I hpe they get their man Mick, cause he is some player.

The Wrap: How is it that when the Wallabies lose, support for Dave Rennie goes up?

Must be why they are killing Rugby in the West then, too many poor people?

Tweak the bench: Learn to love fatigue again and the game will be better off

Please that leak came straight from Rugby Australia to get them in the headlines.

The Wrap: How the Rebels are trying to bridge the chasm between club and Super rugby

Fair point I don’t live in Victoria so I’m only speculating. Just thought they would have given them a shout out instead of Penrith as this idea is directly borrowed from the Storm.

The Wrap: How the Rebels are trying to bridge the chasm between club and Super rugby

I was just thinking that Mick, you think Geoff and the Rebels could have given the Storm a little nod instead of the Panthers, guess there isn’t much love down there even though they share a stadium.

Rugby let Suaalii go to the NRL and now his brand and value have grown so if they want him they’ll have to pay massive overs. Yes it will generate headlines but it’s just bad business trying to sign NRL players after they have let their Value sky rocket. I actually don’t think McLennan is in a hurry to sign any big name league players he just likes that it gets RU talked about in the media. Saying you are going to “raid” the NRL makes Fox and the News Corp papers take notice every time. It’s basically free advertising for Rugby Australia which has very little cut through with the general sports watching public.

Target potential over stars: Suaalii a strong option but rugby can't repeat past mistakes in hunt for NRL converts

Latrell would be devastating in RU Mick, but unfortunately he doesn’t come from a wealthy part of Sydney or Brisbane. Which means he’s off Rugby’s radar

Mary, do you think we can progress past the quarter finals this year?
We pushed Penrith hard last year but you never felt like we could quite do it? I really want to see both the NRL(M) and NRLW teams give it a shake this season

Why must there always be a problem? Big four weeks loom for Eels players and fans

Something tells me he’s never been. To Western Sydney Jake . Haha

PR masterclass means Rugby Australia are fighting the code war on their terms

I agree it’s very popular at the moment, I’m a Parra fan and we have 30k members. But the Rugby media like Fitz, linden and Parkes are slowly chipping away at it over concussion, culture and oversight. At some point these blows are going to land, and rugby with all of the influence and resources of world rugby will finish them off.
