Many of us have applauded Michael Hooper's play at 7 for the Waratahs and Wallabies during the last two years. He rarely has a…
At the beginning of June, Robbie Deans anointed James O'Connor as his Test 10 and all must have seemed right with the world for…
Hmmmm but the brain explosions are still there …. you failed to mention that dumb dumb attempted grubber directly into the feet of the Japanese defenders which immediately put us under pressure.
Here's why Hunter Paisami's performance against Japan was crucial
Good article and good analysis although I’m Not sure about your possible team.
Burgess and Gosiewski I would not have wasted money on ….. seems the Dragons have enough depth cover forwards already. Same same the backs, am not sure we needed to sign any more players.
May have been a better option to keep the cash in the bank and elevate some juniors to widen out the squad.
It’s time to take a good, hard look at the Dragons’ recruitment for 2022
at was looking so promising 3 weeks ago is now rather upsidedown cake. The forward pack is still ok but the backline needs a major rethink, game plan tweaks and new personnel. I think JOC at 10 is a no brainer with Loloesio off the bench …. no other choice really. I think the wings should remain Kellaway and Wright, minimal change there. Ikitau remains 13, another no brainer. I would move Petaia to 15 despite his lack of experience, Perese or Beale off the bench seeing Morahan is unlikely to be available.
12 is a real puzzle …. I am not Sanguine about Paqisami being able to follow a game plan without brain explosions but I will give him the test against Scotland because he is the incumbent and because he will link with JOC again.

Play for the Wallabies ???? Lol you have missed the bus by about 10 years.

Hunter Paisami ….. can he get his head in the right space and play to a game plan

I reckon 2022 will be a year too far for Pearce in the NRL and the Knights should release him, if Pearce asks. Let him go to south of France for a retirement swansong.
The Knights’ No.1 problem if it’s a case of Pearce off
Yeah well said Brett ….. 4, 5, 6 ,7 god forbid 8 on the trot I don’t care. Yes I enjoy the wins and get grumpy when we lose (my wide disappears) but really all I want is to see the Wallabies playing competitive entertaining rugby without the brain explosions.
And I usually scroll past the posts full of stats.
‘False narrative’: The BS construct that does my head in about the Wallabies’ winning run
Thanks Jim and largely I agree. Just one further point …. All the first half White ran from the base of the ruck sideways, 3-4 paces, before he gave the pass. In my mind his action was totally disrupting the Wallaby runners who had to slow and wait. It was very noticeable that after half time White stopped his sideways runs.
ANALYSIS: 'Special K' quality missing from scratchy Wallabies in Japan
IMO White was the problem ….. too many 3-4 steps from the base of the ruck which clearly disrupted his runners. He obviously got the message at half time because he stopped it after half time.
Paisami may as well have stayed in the sheds.
Ikitau was outstanding with every touch or tackle situation.
VOTE: Wallabies player ratings vs Japan
Ok QC was back with some diamonds but also a fair few rocks ….. got to be better than that.
Hodge with a pectoral injury probably means Kellaway playing 15 for at least the next couple of tests …. pity there is not a test against Italy where Petiaia could be given a run at 15.
Bottom line we went away from the hard nosed rugby we have been playing recently and we damned near paid the price.
MATCH REPORT: Wallabies secure fifth straight win in hard-fought contest with Japan
One other comment …. we went away from the hard nosed rugby we have been playing lately. Too much helter skelter without playing hard and direct.
'Rusty and frustrating': Everything Dave Rennie said about tactical error, Cooper's status and Hunter return
MO Swinton was missed …. he could have made a real point of difference in those rucks.
One other comment …. in the4 live blog someone commented that Hooper was missing and did bugger all ….. that person obviously is just after click bait.

Yep, I agree about the two Bok tests ….. test for the ages? test of the century? Nope I thought they were pretty tedious affairs and the ABs played without much innovation.
Christie gets first start, Cane returns for All Blacks vs USA
Papalii would be on my bench

My picks are Blackadder 6 Savea 7 and Jacobsen 8

Mid table at best …. there has to be a bbq moment or two somewhere
Can the Brisbane Broncos rise back into finals contention in 2022?
Len Ikitau, plus about 20 other Wallabies.
Jordie Barrett, plus the AB locks and backrow.
Pollard …. I am waiting to see more ball in hand rather than kicks
The Thursday rugby two-up: Spring Tour hopes and dreams
Tis just my opinion but the Wallaby backrow starting must be Swinton, Hooper and Valetini …. Swinton for his defence and clean out in tight and for his line out ability, Hooper well it goes without saying, Valetini for his go forward ball carrying and his defensive clean out work …. coming off the bench at about 60 minutes I see Pete Samu replacing Swinton.
I reckon that is the best Wallaby backrow set up.
'A chance to change perception': Successful spring tour would mean more than usual for Wallabies
Yep, real good suggestions. Also I am not so sure about Mark Coyne …. quite a few other good operators for centre …. Goodwin, Timms etc etc

Lynagh ??? What does he offer that the Wallabies don’t currently possess?
Lynagh has as much chance of being selected for the Wallabies this year as does Kingston Town winning this year’s Melbourne Cup.

Reports this morning that Sean McMahon has left the team bubble apparently for personal reasons. Thus he is also unlikely to tour.
