Considering Shiel and Caldwell didn’t play, I think the depth is there to play finals again. Merrit snd Parish aren’t going anywhere, Stringer just has to be similar again and the defence will improve. Othees havent lokes the best 22 but its fast. And tidays gane is fast. The Bombers could 4th or 14th but with some luck on the injury front, they should play finals and win 1.

AFL 2022 Radar: 'If they don't win a final, it will be a wasted year'

I think everyone I’d overestimating the Tigers. They won’t play finals. They’re done. Best players old, lost all depth players. The era is done. Happy to take that to the bank

AFL 2022 Radar: 'If they don't win a final, it will be a wasted year'

4 kicks 4 goals to one player and all legit? Bulldogs have been the umpires pets for years. Go back and look at the free kick count in the 2016 finals series. I was happy the won the premiership, but man oh man did they get a free ride every week. Wasn’t the grand final 26-8 in their favour? The darling’s of the umpiring fraternity

AFL 2022 Radar: 'If they don't win a final, it will be a wasted year'

Momentum is everything in footy now. Noone can deny the Bulldogs got every advantage in that final. Into the 3rd quarter the Bulldogs had kicked 7 goals, 5 from free kicks. Opposition teams can’t compete with that. It’s deflating and momentum is hard to stop.

AFL 2022 Radar: 'If they don't win a final, it will be a wasted year'

Well given the Bombers had a worse injury last than Richmond last year until the last 3 rounds, I would say they earned it. Everyone said poor old tigers, they had the 8th worst injury list. Not that bad I think.
And if it wasn’t for some staggering umpiring decisions in the 4th quarter of dreamtime, where even Tiger players stopped playing becise they k ew they had free kicks against them…the Bombers could very well have beaten them.

AFL 2022 Radar: 'If they don't win a final, it will be a wasted year'

Im different to most. I don’t think Geelong is going anywhere. There’s nothing wrong with the list. It’s the game plan that can’t compete with Melbourne etc. You don’t finish top 2 or top 4 every year unless you’re good. It means theyve beaten the best teams but their style doesn’t cut it in finals. Get the game plan right and I think they challenge. Still have the best forward line, gun midfielders in Danger, Selwood, Duncan, Guthrie etc and a stable backline. I’d be very surprised if they aren’t top 4 again.

How far will Geelong slide in 2022?

Strangest comment on the article. Hawks have years of pain. They haven’t bottomed out yet. Definitely not on the way back

How far will Geelong slide in 2022?

Some strange selections there. Cats will be top 4 again. They’ll be better this year; always win in Geelong. There’s no way they miss finals. The top 4 are never the same from the year before so that automatically won’t be right. Tigers? Gone. Not 15th gone but still gone. Top 4 is a snowflakes chance in hell.
Bottom 4 is tough. Hawks…I think so too. They’ve got nothing.
Bombers….no idea. Could be 4th or 14th. Personally hoping 4th….

How will the 2022 AFL ladder end up?

Can’t agree. Kelli Underwood has a mean, blunt, no sense of hu.our disposition all the time. I never like her hosting. Terrible.
I thought Daisy in her first 2 seasons was absolutely awful and I hate token jobs. That’s all it is, to balance the gender issue. However, I think last year she improved and actually made a contribution. Carey states the obvious, Hamish is the definition of vanilla, couldn’t get a more boring personality. And the big man from WA….dont get me started. Worst commentator ever. Called for himself to get his name in lights. Good riddance Basil!
The only people that actually give any insight to the game,as against reading just the stat’s my 6 year old could do, (thanks David King) is Dermy, easily the best, Hodge, Lyon, Huddo, I know he calls the game perfectly but his I sights are great and BT occasionally. The rest……”well they got more contested possessions and inside 50s, that’s why they’re winning”. Talk about zzzzzzzzzz

Seven shock: Wayne Carey dumped from prime time for AFLW legend

Don’t think you need to say Essendon Bombers every time. One or the other is fine.

And Langford play on a wing and an outside player? I must have missed something. He is a tall inside player who plays half forward too.

If Harrison plays a full season and Wright chips in, the Bombers might win a final, finally.

The four players who could make or break the Essendon Bombers in 2022

Mix the jab with 5G. All your problems will be gone forever

'Only one team played to the conditions': Talking points from the Bulldogs' wild win in the wet

It’s not the amount…its where and how they get them. Don’t forget it wasn’t just the 5 direct goals, they missed another 2 or 3 shots on goal from direct free kicks. They could have had 8 goals just from free kicks. That’s going to hurt any opposition team.

'Only one team played to the conditions': Talking points from the Bulldogs' wild win in the wet

Great stat’s by Dasher Parkin….every final they’ve played in the last 6 years they’ve smashes the free kick count. It’s something like 150 for and 94 against. 2016 GF was 20 for and 8 to Swans. The bias is obvious

'Only one team played to the conditions': Talking points from the Bulldogs' wild win in the wet

Yeah so Draper gets run into and he gets penalised. Joke. You didnt watch the game

'Only one team played to the conditions': Talking points from the Bulldogs' wild win in the wet

You clearly didn’t watch the game. None of them were there. And this article is wrong too as was Montagna. It’s easy to say “well he still had to nail them” but that doesn’t change the fact the Bulldogs were given this game by the umpires. When 5 of your 7 goals are all free kicks…youve had substantial help.
Yes the Bombers should have kicked some if their easy shots but when momentum us everything in footy, and the Bombers had plenty if it, for the umpires to continually stop that momentum by giving the Dovgies free goals rips the heart out of a team.
And if they’re going to pay those pathetic free kicks, then give them to the other team.
But as it always is with the Bulldogs…they have to win the free kicks every game they play, especially finals.

'Only one team played to the conditions': Talking points from the Bulldogs' wild win in the wet

A fit and firing Tippa would be huge for finals. I actually want Jones there too. Yes he is skinny and a but raw but he takes a beautiful mark and is a great kick. He gives them that extra option of Wright is having a bad day. If Caldwell manages to come back then I think our midfield is as good and as deep as virtually any team in the comp.
My only disappointment going into finals is that I’d love to play the Swans. I think we have them covered. I think we will struggle against the Lions.

Bombers Round 22 review: Finals draw ever closer

True true. But I still think we make it…

The agonising battle for eighth: AFL Round 21 power rankings

Friday night is the game that makes or breaks lots of finalists. If GWS win, they’re in and the Bombers and Saints and Freo have to win and hope WC lose both games.
If Richmond wins…wow it opens everything up. If Bombers win they’ll be in, WC is under more pressure and the other teams fighting for a spot will be keen to win.
Can’t wait!

Why don’t the Bombers make finals Chuck?

The agonising battle for eighth: AFL Round 21 power rankings

Yeah…strange rankings. Whilst they’re not supposed to be just the ladder, wher a team truly sits is getting closer to the ladder. GWS are not 5th. They still may not make finals. Port are 4th and could still finish top 2. A much better team than GWS. At least the Hwks have had a correction. You can’t be bottom 2 all year and then say they’re 11th best team suddenly.

The biggest question is….who gets 7th and 8th and plays finals? Right now….and this most likely changes again next week ….for me it’s WC 7th and Essendon 8th.
Thoughts?

The agonising battle for eighth: AFL Round 21 power rankings

Coleman medal last year and number 1 in assists. Compare to people like Riewoldt who never assists. Hawkins the last few years has been in career best form

What if Geelong don't win the 2021 premiership?

Hawkins is easily the best forward in the game. His goals plus assists are incredible. Hopefully he and Cameron get more games together. Will.be good to see what they can do in the same team

What if Geelong don't win the 2021 premiership?

Hard to give Cats and Digs any grief right now. The 2 best teams in it, Dee’s just behind. If I followed any of these teams I’d be pretty happy right now and looking forward to finals

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Round 20

I think they’ve improved too. Smith and Cameron have made a huge difference.
I also agree if they win it, some veterans move on and then these young guns get to play. They’ve had a good foundation so they could keep the Cats in the hunt another few years

What if Geelong don't win the 2021 premiership?

And yet anytime they do happen to win its because the ‘the master coach’ inspired them and concocted another amazing win. If Clarko is still coaching ‘amazingly well’ then Noble must be a genius
