Asking as Frank stays off the Shirley temples it’ll be apples.

When AFL is just a game

Essendon needed some positive membership spin after way they acted last week, the pr dept all clubs have retained are earning their coin.

Hurley helps out fan in need

Preferred bj Honeycutt personally pete

When AFL is just a game

I agreed with round one being played and still do and I also gripped to the return date when first said but now I gotta say I can’t see season 2020 happening especially with the decision to isolate WA fully (live in the south west so not dealing with Easter city blow ins is awesome). The AFL isn’t that important this year and the way everyone in that industry is conducting themselves of late is an embarrassment, support your community teams and state league teams cause they’ll need it if AFL clubs can’t survive with the advantages of the last 10 years financially then wtf has happened to the cash?

When AFL is just a game

When in iso it’s recommended one does find entertainment even if delivered in your repetitive mundane manner 😉

Picking a team of AFL players aged 24 to 26

Just a a quick rotation to throw the Oppo off, he’ll be on in the first minute. Someone gotta replace the front running glory off the wb mids selected and harden up the midfield. Watched the gws vs wb final for giggles and certainly could use Yeo at the Bulldogs.

Picking a team of AFL players aged 24 to 26

I would’ve thought the real reason was st Kilda realised putting Gardiner and cuz back together wouldn’t have been an intelligent move not Ross suddenly becoming an expert in addiction studies.

Ben Cousins and the logistics of his failed move to the Saints

Will that satisfy Tassie? But Tassie kangaroos and gold coast Saints doesn’t sound that bad.

Gillon McLachlan adamant all clubs will survive coronavirus shutdown

Fair enough man, it’ll be one or the other either way Michael Pascoe will have a decent opinion piece regardless, hoping you’re taking care of one self, I’d imagine you’re home now.

AFL secures massive lifeline from banks amid financial crisis

Blitz is talking out if his you know what.

Worsfold opens up on Cousins downfall

It’ll start next year imo, we are in classic recession territory and the rates as they are ATM are unsustainable. It’ll be the unfortunate by-product of conditions of the last few years imo.

AFL secures massive lifeline from banks amid financial crisis

They have one asset and the nice banks will be wolves within the new year as interest rates rise, this could get very bad kids.

AFL secures massive lifeline from banks amid financial crisis

Gws and GCS have large support from the state govt, the contracts in place won’t be easily broken and will end in court with the AFL losing but also probably bankrupt with the banks unable to recoup the money, the banks would realise this so it will be Melbourne based clubs at risk as it’s a saturated market, it’s unfortunate but sports clubs at all levels are kinda fkkd ATM and alot will disappear or have to merge their histories. By the end expect less Melbourne teams and 2 in every other mainland state which will appeal to the broadcasters who ultimately have the money.

The future of Australian sport Part 1: Bigger isn’t better

Ross Oakley will be seen to be correct in fact Melbourne cannot house so many teams, they will merge Melbourne teams before closing gws or GCS as banks will see the common sense practice of keeping them as the NSW and Qld govt are heavily invested than some poorly followed constantly in debt side based in Melbourne which state govt dollars invested in sports will favour international events over the AFL any day if it comes to that.

The future of Australian sport Part 1: Bigger isn’t better

The AFL has an opportunity over next decade to streamline the comp and remove the power from the state with smallest mainland landmass but the biggest egos in Australian sports, it’s critical that this happens for the integrity of competition but also I doubt the Vic govt will have financial clout for sometime and anyone thinking the economy is going to be normal anytime soon or that federal govt won’t have more important things to spend taxpayers money on is deluded as Gerard Whatley and his boxing day suggestion.

The future of Australian sport Part 1: Bigger isn’t better

Good article mate, sport is a business know and has truly been the moment it became a full-time job involving massive amounts of money therefore ppl need to be rational about it moving forward. It’s being felt at all levels from local to state to the pros but we haven’t been prepared to have foresight enough to see beyond the good times so let’s hope that the tough decisions that should of happened over last few decades become reality.

The future of Australian sport Part 1: Bigger isn’t better

They’ll be part time as it was before and they’ll do a trade or study in a position organised by the club, still in a better position than other kids out there

What does the future hold for a rookie listed player?

One day, Victoria is as broke as the AFL so it will go to who still has industry and the money to spend. Victoria tends to hit the wall during recessions, ore rich states with heavy international investment do pretty well.

AFL open to Christmas grand final

Sorry mate that’s ridiculous, chance to go to the only gf to be held away from MCG would pack out in Perth, no wonder Andrews is the Vic premier.

AFL open to Christmas grand final

That backroom deal with the Vic govt and MCC is going to bite hard, couple that with the intellectual statements of the players and behaviour of clubs towards their members recently I couldn’t care less if the AFL is going this Xmas cause I’ll be spending my time with the ppl I care about.

AFL open to Christmas grand final

Anyone who has signed up for a phone has been involved in contracts. If the money isn’t going to be there then there’s no point talking current contract status as they will be null and void if there’s not enough cash to pay them. The players have received 50% of their contract for the year which has returned 1 game only so jack Martin has received $750000 for lifting weights not a untidy sum.
I think you don’t actually realise the pain isn’t this year it will be felt as the recession hits and the players obviously haven’t lived through one or they wouldn’t be as entitled as what they are acting. Do you remember the last recession or the unemployment of the 70s?

Caroline Wilson bakes Jack Riewoldt for bringing bushfire relief match into pay cut dispute

The story is the players can’t accept in these times ppl don’t give a flying that they’ve invested to ridiculous degree and have to train on their own. The game will survive cause ppl will always love the adulation but turn the supporters off and no more Mr big wage for them.

Caroline Wilson bakes Jack Riewoldt for bringing bushfire relief match into pay cut dispute

Killing the goose that layed the golden egg, a bitter taste is being left by their behaviour, every player who has spoken has sounded like a immature, entitled nong, if a recession hits hard ppl won’t be buying Foxtel so that income stream will go and commercial stations won’t have a large income stream from advertising, they are being led down the garden path by others whose income is tied to theirs.

Caroline Wilson bakes Jack Riewoldt for bringing bushfire relief match into pay cut dispute

I don’t think Tassie can resource such things suddenly.

The six AFL clubs that could go to the wall

Wow Ross is going out on a limb with that opinion

Ross Lyon calls for the Gold Coast Suns to be scrapped amid AFL's financial crisis
