I first followed the Roar due to Rugby, but I am now trying to help build the profile of Hockey (Field Hockey not Ice Hockey)!!

What is David Nucifora’s contract in Ireland? He has done great things there with their program and seemed to be mistreated when he left Australia under the older system. Perhaps he would make a good director of HP.

New chair says Aussie rugby must end 'sugar hit' approach, 'fears' for game's future if reform doesn't occur quickly

Lots of positives in the first half, blown away in the second. I noticed Kellaway doing a lot of talking to the team under the posts and at the end. He is a former U20 Captain and I wonder if it would be good to have a Captain that can hold down a position regularly (Wing or Fullback). He has made a few defensive mistakes the last few games, but he strikes me as dependable, stable and calm under pressure.

'Must do your head in': Quade's error and Tate's indecision crucial as All Blacks duo bring the pain yet again

I’m starting to think that EJ has us all tricked with “possession Rugby is dead” talk. If the WB’s had held the ball for 55% of the time vs Arg, they would likely have won (depending on discipline). Perhaps he is in hoodwink mode and we are about to see a change of style!

Exclusive: Carter's meteoric rise continues with young gun replacing Quade at No.10, Tate set to start

I agree Brett, we also don’t need to score tries off every play, we just need to build pressure on the opposition. That will require a significant increase in accuracy at the breakdown. Currently the Wallabies lose far too much attacking ball with poor/late clean outs.
There is also the added danger of the Wallabies’ poor discipline. Players in attack never get given a yellow card for repeated attacking infringements. If we are spending 70% of the time in defence it is asking for trouble, as we are more likely to be offside/off feet etc, leading to warnings than YC.

The two-week observation: The Wallabies can play low possession rugby OR find the Australian way – but not both

Surely this is also a good idea when a man down. Go for a drop goal! Top result – 3 points, alternatively good chance of recovering the ball from a goal line dropout, all while eating up the clock.

'Itchy feet': Mystery surrounds Wallabies selection as Eddie weighs up risk and reward factor over key props

In the words of Scotty – “you cannae change the laws of physics”. Have you tried it! I don’t care how strong core and leg muscles are, unless you have go-go gadget screws in the heels of your boots to anchor you in the turf, once your bum moves forwards if your heels you will tip over! Any time the backside is in front of the heels a player is leaning on someone or the ball and not supporting their weight!

Why the ruck must go hands-free in 2021

Good read as usual Nick! I agree with jackal issues and the laws of physics determine that if the apex of a player is in front of his base he is not supporting his weight. Refs could look for anytime a players backside is in front of his heels and penalise accordingly. This can be clearly seen in your pictures.
