If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away' [Henry David Thoreau]. I'm a bit of a sports addict, love competition.

one pass away… and gets dropped by a Neville nobody 1 metre off the line…. Just pass it FPS

Of mousetraps, the Man and David Manson: St George’s unlikely run to the 1996 grand final

😂 .. looking at the Penrith pictures, half their team in moonboots, crutches.. they were really playing the underdog card.

NRL grand final teams: Pangai OUT for Panthers, Souths sweating on star's fitness

Hear Hear… a terrible look for the game and a bad precedent.

Good read MD, it was nice to read about Mundine in the years he used to actually pass a ball….

Cheers KK. We’ll see what they think of it.

My plan to let NRL legends finish their careers at home

Appreciate the tune up Nat. Yes, there would have to be limitations and how that would work might need a thinking cap. Perhaps a club could only have one player on a Retirement Contract at any one time? The club still has to pay them so it really doesn’t free up a lot of money. It’s not on the books (but hey – there is a lot of that anyway – story for another day) but it’s still a big contract they have to find $$ for.

Appreciate that feedback Paul, I’m actually going to submit to the NRL.

There has to be an answer somewhere. Money better spent than on a the junker. bunker.

Thanks Josh, I actually wasn’t aware of that. Time for more research.

My plan to let NRL legends finish their careers at home

Thanks Succhi, I don’t think many people were pleased with Reynolds being pushed out, or Benji at Tigers for that matter. There needs to be a system where they can see out their latter years with the club and inject some experience back into the pool.

My plan to let NRL legends finish their careers at home

Cheers Tony, I’m convinced that it would be great for the game to not just lose so much experience. Nicest thing you’ve said about Mr. Beale as well 😊 👍

My plan to let NRL legends finish their careers at home

Cheers CJ, and I note that, yet I don’t think moving would be necessary. I reckon – as part of the deal and some sponsorship from Rex, Reynolds just flies up for training once a week and the weekend game. Take the family along for a overnight holiday.

I’d love you to send that to the NRL/judiciary and get some answers

Cleary CLEARED: Panthers skipper a free man for grand final

The only reason he hasn’t been hit with anything is because even the lowest grading would have resulted in suspension.
The only reason it wasn’t worse is that Cleary couldn’t lift him higher. Still a shocking tackle that warranted a suspension.
Broadcaster’s influence. They think there would have been less interest if NC was ruled out. Got to have all the best players on the field – as if the game itself isn’t enough of a drawcard. That’s another Slater precedent..

Or actually enforce it. And not build sites where people can drug up legally.

That’s a good team and should go 12th- 9th. I don’t see much better given it’s their first year and they’ll need a lot to displace anyone in this year’s top 6.
Corey Allen seems a fall from grace, I’d have him ahead of Cotric or the two in a shoot out with Schoupp for 2 spots. If Dufty fails The Fox might get his run at fb and open a wing spot.

Could 2022 be the year of the Dogs?

unlikely..

Could 2022 be the year of the Dogs?

There wasn’t a lot different than his tackle and one that got a Manly player 3 weeks. I’m no Souths Fan but the suss level Panthers have gone to this finals series turns the stomach. Clearly someone there has said to heck with anything, do whatever, just win.
I’m also very curious why no trainers were in sight when Cleary took a hit to the noggin and was obviously a bit shaky.

ref handles the game around the ball, touchies handle back play, defensive line offside and on passes. they are in the best position.

Errors just kill you: Talking points from South Sydney’s rout of Manly

Typical / representative of how the NRL does everything at the moment
Good point. It’s reactionary management (poor), not proactive (thoughtful),

nope, touchies can do that – watch back play. Pocket ref confuses the issue. One ref only please.
