I am a passionate rugby league fanatic that is so sick of the disgusting refereeing blaming attitude that has infected the greatest game of all. Aspiring journalist, passionate referee, and lover of all things rugby league.

Yeah, I don’t like the way the club seems to be assuming he’ll be right and eligible to play straight away…

'I'm not proud of the behaviour I displayed': Brown apologises after pleading guilty to sexual touching charges

Jeez. Hard not to think Turbo’s been hard done by thanks to NSW’s selection pane. He wasn’t match fit and wasn’t at 100%, but thrown in anyway. They had to know this was a risk.

Round 17 Late Mail: Jurbo an Origin chance, Latrell out, Dolphins lose one star but get another back

From a Parra POV, I’d love to snatch Walker – he could play 5/8th alongside Moses.

Round 17 Late Mail: Jurbo an Origin chance, Latrell out, Dolphins lose one star but get another back

Fair ratings all round Tim, although I think you were a bit generous towards Tedesco. 6/10 seems a bit rose-tinted; I thought that besides two good tackles he was pretty ordinary.

And it could well be the blue and gold bias talking, but I think Moses was our best player tonight; nice to see him and Haas tied for first in your rankings.

All in all a poor showing. Might I suggest a -3/10 for Fittler?

Blues player ratings: Time for legend to call it quits, Luai no good without Cleary, why was Cam Murray barely used?

Hynes has been done so dirty.

As for Luai? Give me strength. Can anybody honestly say that he is the best five eighth in NSW? No chance. He rode Cleary’s coattails to get into the side this year and he gets to keep his spot ahead of the game’s best player over the last year and a half?

Luai playing while Hynes gets the axe.

Time to go Freddy, you biased buffoon.

Round 15 Talking Points: New duo will light up Origin, Moses wins Blues battle, NRL sides get mid-year wobbles

Gould should be sanctioned for that comment about Atkins. His attitudes and thoughts on the direction of the game haven’t been worth the paper they’ve been printed on for years now, but that BS shouldn’t be permitted.

The only way Luai gets picked over Hynes is bias/favouritism. There is no way that Luai deserves to retain the number 6 jersey on his lacklustre season, much less when you’ve got Nicho Hynes doing just about everything to ensure he’s the man for the job.

Cleary can throw his weight around all he likes with his “oh, I play better with him alongside me” rubbish. Putting aside the fact that nobody should be able to ride another player’s coattails into an Origin jersey, if Cleary can’t play at his best with other, better players in the halves with him, he shouldn’t be in the team either.

Blind Freddy’s made some ridiculous decisions before; omitting RCG was ludicrous and just about inexcusable if the rumours that the Penrith players’ attitudes are the reason are true, and picking Tupou over JAC last year was genuinely staggering in its cluelessness, but If Hynes is watching from the sidelines again while Luai runs out onto the field, the NSWRL had better ensure that he’s not around to make decisions like that again.

Origin I predicted teams: Hynes, Graham bang down Blues door but pack cops hit, Maroons No.1 jersey up for grabs

Everything you’ve said is 100% spot on, but good god, masquerading as a common Joe and getting fired up about the Rabbitohs on a rugby league forum is EXACTLY something Russell Crowe would do 😂

'Flip the mentality': How Latrell will get out of his 2023 slump - and why he won't meet with racist abuse fan

Ridiculously poor form. There’s not a snowball’s chance in hell they’ll get anybody better. Gutho is exactly the type of player I’d want at my club and watching the board f him around is nauseating.

NRL News: Rugby boss hits back at 'cry babies' over Suaalii deal, Eels on hunt for new fullback, Matterson explains fine mess

I’m choosing to ignore the possibility of the club moving Gutho on to make room for this unicorn they seem to be chasing.

Based on that, maybe they see him as versatile enough to play in the centres when Blake leaves (hopefully) at the end of the year?

NRL News: Rugby boss hits back at 'cry babies' over Suaalii deal, Eels on hunt for new fullback, Matterson explains fine mess

I’m struggling to resist the urge to be absolutely furious about this. Gutho has been our best player for years and I have yet to see anybody that puts as much heart and effort into the club. His display in defence (how many near-certain tries has he saved now?) and his efforts in attack are some of the best in the entire Eels club, in any grade, and the club’s pretty much delivered him an almighty slap in the face. Look at his work ethic in every single game; not afraid to get smashed and jump straight back up or put his body on the line to stop a raging forward barging over the line.

I am TRYING to look at it optimistically, in that they see him as a versatile backrower that could slot into centre to replace the walking incompetence of Waqa Blake, so they can chase a superstar fullback rather than a superstar centre, but why the hell would you make it public like this, and why would you enter the market for the position held by your captain and best player?

Putting that aside, where do they think they’re going to find a better fullback? Those superstar “x factor” fullbacks the club seems so keen on aren’t exactly flooding the market – there’s only about 3 or 4 fullbacks I’d rather have than Gutherson and none of them are available for signing. I don’t like to think the club would be stupid enough to think that Reece Walsh or god forbid Matt Dufty would provide the spark that Gutho is somehow lacking, but this board continues to find new ways to bewilder me.

If this move causes Gutho to move on at the end of 2025 (or earlier), I’ll be livid beyond words. How anyone can think he’s not good enough as our fullback is utterly beyond me. He’s our best player, a fan favourite, and we’ve just kicked him right up the arse. He must be hurting…

No one gave us a chance of making the grand final last year, either.

The $6 million man: Moses makes call on long-term playing future after Eels vs Tigers bidding war

I was against the A-League selling out to Sydney, but if this is how Melbourne fans react when they don’t get their way, I hope they never get to host a final in Victoria ever again.

Hyperbole aside, this is utterly pathetic and there needs to be stronger action than fines taken. This is probably the most damaging night in Australian football history in quite some time; all of the good work and goodwill earned from the Socceroos’ best ever WC has been completely squandered.

Gianni Infantino’s first act as President should have been stripping hosting rights from Qatar. Ignoring the corruption-filled farce that led to them “winning” the race to host, the country is bigoted, corrupt, cares not one jot about labor rights or migrant workers, and could not give a single solitary uck-fay about human rights.

If it wasn’t for Australia’s miraculous qualification, this would have been the first World Cup I actively refused to watch.

“DCE has done nothing wrong” while I get what you’re saying, that shouldn’t mean diddly squat. No, he hasn’t done anything wrong, but another player has overtaken him as the best halfback in the game. Simple as that.

'I had a dream last night about it': Mal losing sleep over selection drama, but headaches grow after thumping Kangaroos win

Please tell me you’re joking.

Kangaroos Tops & Flops: Cleary, Carrigan and Addo-Carr get pass marks, but why was this game in Coventry?

At the end of the day, Cleary has been a far better player over the last two years, and 100% deserves to be halfback. For me, the incumbency argument is asinine and shouldn’t count one jot. Sure, DCE used to be the Australian halfback. So what? Cleary has been a better player – why should the best halfback available miss out just because the second-best played for Australia two years ago?

The same goes for SOO and the ridiculous amount of players that made it into the squads this year based on incumbency rather than form.

If this was the Chair of my club I’d be demanding his head on a platter, never mind a resignation – I’d want him sacked in disgrace.

The Dragons should fire him immediately. Putting aside the fact that he thought it was appropriate to implicate the club by stamping his reference with its branding, providing a statement of character reference to an individual who has plead guilty to child sexual abuse material when you are in the position that you are is inherently going to bring the club and culture under scrutiny.

To say nothing of the possibility that he made sure to include the club’s logo to attach more weight to his reference…

Lebanon were definitely one of the two favourites to advance to the knockout stage – Doueihi might regret his little temper tantrum if they fall to Ireland… You’d definitely think they’ll knock off Jamaica (as much as I’d love to see the Caribbean nation score a win!) so it looks like it’s a do or die fixture. A place in the finals and the 2025 WC awaits!

Honestly I’d be happy to see either side advance. The Wolfhounds haven’t made the knockout stage since 2000 (no, I do NOT count the “semi-final qualifier” in 2008) and it would be good for the home continent to get a bit more representation. I’ve still gotta cheer on Lebanon though, for no other reason than you don’t see them playing games as often as Ireland and Moses deserves more time to shine after such an impressive year. That being said, if referee abuse leads to a key player missing a must-win game and a country being eliminated from a World Cup? Well, I won’t be heartbroken for Doueihi, that’s for sure.

‘Icon’ Hasler damned with faint praise as Manly axe him 'in best interests of club' to put Seibold in charge

The responsibility for the pride jersey fiasco lies squarely with the players who felt comfortable enough in justifying their homophobia by picking and choosing which segments of their fairytale they wanted to follow.

That being said, I feel really sorry for Hasler. He deserves a lot better than the club is currently giving them; and for anybody to be questioning the value of Tom Trbojevic is ridiculous. He’s an absolute superstar and if he remained injury free I think there’s a fair chance they would’ve been in a much different position come the fiasco that derailed their season.

I’m already an absolute nervous wreck and there’s still a solid 5 hours to go…

The grand final drinking game is only way to get through Channel Nine's coverage

Whoever wins tonight is definitely going to be the underdogs going into next week. If the Eels win, I think they’d prefer Penrith to win tomorrow, but if the Cows win, I think they’d prefer to play the Rabbitohs.

Both games this weekend should hopefully be phenomenal.
