Excellent article! I also hope for one day where a gay-specific tournament isn’t needed.

Why The Bingham Cup is important for straight men

I just thought valley girl was a more appropriate term to use than plastic bimbos or something like that.

How to sell NRL to a valley girl

Ha! Thank you for that! I’m glad this fluff made your day.

How to sell NRL to a valley girl

I’m all for anyone jumping on board and supporting league, no matter what “social stereotype” they fit into.

While I like and appreciate the hard-hitting shoulder charge, I don’t mind it being banned simply for the safety of the players. I’d rather see a player have a long career without the shoulder charge than a short one with it.

In saying that, bring back the biff. Please. It’s really unsatisfying watching players get into each others faces and mumble angry words to each other without actually doing anything.

The fans have spoken, but will the NRL listen?

Possible response #3: “Mean Girls is one of my favourite movies”.

But I didn’t say #2 or #3. I said #1 and reported that accurately. Deal with it.

A confession of the converted: "I love AFL"

Don’t put words in my mouth. I compared two games to each other and said one was more pleasant and calm. Done. Don’t go looking for things that aren’t there.

A confession of the converted: "I love AFL"

Didn’t actually say there is no abuse at AFL games, did I?

A confession of the converted: "I love AFL"

And what type of person is that? I can bet my life savings if you saw me casually on the street, you wouldn’t suspect I liked AFL. Better yet, you wouldn’t think I had a sporting bone in my body.

I refuse to acknowledge that as our team song haha. It’s so bad :/

A confession of the converted: "I love AFL"

I’m rebellious in that I don’t feel as if I should be pressured into supporting a team because of my postcode. So what I did – like I did for the Broncos – was sit back, observe the game objectively, and see what team stands out for good reasons. Collingwood did that.

As much as I support the club on game days now, I still refuse to acknowledge Eddie McGuire -.-

A confession of the converted: "I love AFL"

I choose not to make “Let’s go Broncos” the “Broncos song” because I think it’s terrible so no, I don’t think it’s “their song” but I am aware they do have one.

I could make assumptions about you being the 42nd President of the United States, but that’s all it’ll be… an assumption. Think before you comment. Thanks xx

A confession of the converted: "I love AFL"

Actually not a part of the AFL Media Department but, you know, whatever.

Terrific article! I definitely agree that captains can have an effect on their team’s overall performance. With the captaincy change at the Broncos, the club is doing much better than last year under Thaiday who, God bless his soul, was not meant to be captain. Noticeably better, anyway.

The NRL's best and worst captains

Thanks for the feedback guys. I’m really looking forward to the game tomorrow and I have a good feeling I’ll come away converted. I’ve already signed my soul away to Collingwood after purchasing a supporters scarf and beanie so I hope they don’t let me down!

Please be gentle: Confessions of an AFL virgin

Great read, Louis Pooey 😉

What we learnt from the opening game of the NRC

Excellent article Mary! This indeed made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I hope that this initiative is expanded and that more players can increase their employment opportunities.

NRL's academic team of the year is a gold star for the code

I think the idea you’re trying to make is nice but realistically I can’t see it happening. I’d guess it’s the same reason why Pacific Islanders move to Australia or even New Zealand to play rugby league because there aren’t any opportunities to do so in their countries.

The NRL's future is in the Pacific Islands

Agreed. Not so much Melbourne, but to me it seems as if Manly has this one in the bag. But I’d love to see the Cowboys in the top eight and have a fair shot at the premiership after last year’s debacle.

Why your team will - or won't - win the 2014 NRL grand final

This is exactly the point I was trying to make that may have been lost among some.

Why I hate being an NRL fan sometimes

I actually thought this was hilarious. Regardless of my feelings for Hook, can’t help but feel sorry for the poor bloke.

NRL horoscopes: Why your team sucks

I don’t understand how this is “negative”. I love the game and have made it very clear. I just don’t like having my life threatened and beer purposely flung in my hair for supporting a team someone else doesn’t.
