The APL and ViacomCBS have worked hard so far to help football in Australia. Increased exposure through games and advertisements on free-to-air TV, and…
The Matildas began their Asian Cup campaign in emphatic fashion, putting 18 past tournament minnows Indonesia. There were plenty of positives to take out…
Marconi would be the best IMO, a grass field and better facilities for exit/entry and parking. WSW women’s are slowly moving most games to Blacktown Football Park so Perth using Marconi Stadium as a base hopefully isn’t much of an issue. Plus the club has field’s behind the stadium that can be used as a training base.
For rent: The east-coast clubs that should host Perth Glory
All great ideas but it could be a while before they are implemented. I think some short term goals to turn this season around could be a useful focus in the current climate (although better/more cameras would come under that heading too).
With crowd numbers trending down, can the APL turn it around?
No where near what I was referring too. Like I said I’m referring to the previos people in charge and the league is still feeling the effects from media scrutinising active supporters, while they stood back and watched.

As much as I disagree with Yeoman-Dale’s comments it’s nice to see some propper analysis of the Matilda’s. The Philippines will be interesting, a number of players playing college football in the USA so they’ll be an intelligent group (albeit a bit experienced).
'Missed opportunity', or was Gustavsson right to bring on experience in Indonesia clash?
Considering how big the Matilda’s are it’s about time we start to be critical of selections and performance. As much as I disagreed with Yeoman-Dale’s statements it’s a nice change to see pundits having conversations about these things rather than simply just constant praise. The Philippines game will be massive, looks like they have a number of players in the US College system so they’ll be an intelligent bunch (albeit maybe a bit inexperienced).

That was the thought process behind the article I guess. As much as nothing can turn things around in a COVID climate we should use this as an opportunity to draw up something that 1. Keeps the league surviving in the climate and 2. Puts us in a good position post pandemic. As long as that plans in place the league will be in a good position hopefully.
